So, as you might remember, I bought a Chinese titanium MOS plate that turned out to be far superior in fit and finish compared to the American-made Forward Controls Design plate, which caused a lot of seething on here.

Some of the /k/ope included:

Anyway, because I’m a curious person, I got myself another American-made plate. Not to compare it with the Chinese one (which we all know is superior), but to test whether the Chinese plate is actually made of titanium. Since titanium is heavier than aluminum, you can compare the weight ratio to tell if one is aluminum and the other is titanium. I know this isn’t definitive proof, but it’s enough to put my mind at ease.

So I went online, looked for an American-made aluminum plate, and ordered one from CHPWS. And oh boy ,if I thought FCD was bad, I wasn’t prepared for this shit lmao

1. It’s visibly smaller, and when mounted on the Glock, it rattles.

This misfitting plate is a facet of a bigger problem. The reason american cars do not sell well abroad is for the same reason this plate doesn't fit the gun out of the box. Americans are not good engineers and they are absolutely lazy when it comes to quality control and chosing good materials, an american will invariably chose the cheapest. Long term this gives american export products such a bad reputation that people simply wont consider them if they have alternatives.

Don't even care about China but it's true that US manufacturing has a terrible name in Europe. Buying something American invariably means this person is an Americaphile (or whatever the term is), and the person buying it KNOWS it's bad and just wants it because it's an American thing. This is an acceptable position and people kind of understand being an Americaphile. Anything American is always very cheaply and simply made without any hint of clever solutions or intricacy. There is low quality control and it's kind of obvious why the US has such weak consumer laws - US companies would all go bust if they were held to a standard.

The chink government does not eat BYD manufacturing cost. They eat BYD R&D cost trough government research. It means that BYD factories are approaching 100% automation. Them chiners have developed automation so far that they have "dark factories", assembly lines completely operated by robots who do not need artificial illumination. China has more robots per 100 000 human workers than America.

Furthermore, China does not have any green energy programs, they are mostly running off coal. Meaning that they have a shitload of cheap energy. This + mass robotization means low production costs. The implications for a future war in the pacific is obvious, China does not only have 232 times more shipbuilding than America, its advantage in making weapons trough repurposing civilian infrastructure is also magnitudes larger than America. Its not just that, americans are so used to low quality that they refuse to pay for quality because they think it is just a brand label scam on some low quality goods (which is very much true fo products from american corporations). I had a CHPWS (California Highway Patrol Weapons Systems) 407K/507K plate for my Glock 43X MOS and THEIR SUPPLIED mounting hardware while being both shit trash hardware to begin with, was out of spec/dimension such that the screws were so long that they extended down into the extractor plunger and spring channel causing the extractor to hang up which caused BAD failure to extract malfunctions.
