i have experience with normal ones. the notch sights are shit its all Kentucky windage. the zamak frames do have a limited lifespan. if you actually shoot it it will wear out in 10k-20k. which isnt ideal but not a low amount. if you had 10k worth of ammo thats enough to replace the gun 10 or 15 times.
its not going to instantly explode but it is going to get sketchier and looser to the point you retire it.
it will outlast an average shooter who will never even come close to 2k. fail for an actual shooter and isnt worth passing down to a kid. its disposable.

Top straps were a mistake.

I settled on the Pietta clone in .357 magnum. Other than pushing in the cylinder pin as a hammer stop there are no other new fangled safeties. Firing pin is on the hammer as god intended and all 4 clicks are present. It does have a heavy main spring but that can be replaced or tweaked with spacers.

Pietta makes one. I think one in particular is called the midnight special. I used to have an all blued 10 shot 22lr pietta. I sold it because it was a pain to line up the ejector rod with the tiny chambers. The clicks of the cylinder were just past where they needed to be. That aside new piettas are nicer than they used to be.

I got really lucky because i didnt pay a thing for any of them. My vaquero and single six were already wearing them when i purchased the guns.
