One of the guys had a FP raid at last week’s night shoot.
We were just doing basic day 1 stuff for the season before we pick up the pace.
For this drill we were just making sure we were accounting for holdovers placing 4 shots in an 8 inch circle then up to a 2 inch circle and placing 2 more.
We were somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15 yards and the guy with raid was blooming out his target while on low. I told him to drop the gain down but it didn’t do enough.
My IRIS was challenging but doable since it has even less power on low.
The moral of the story is that more power isn’t always more better and while I wholeheartedly agree the RAID Xe is a better device overall, it’s not better at everything.
From a civilian / casual standpoint, unless you’re balling or totally irresponsible with money just get an IRIS.

I can’t speak for current production bushy. RRA is decent for build parts. Their barrels are alright. Wilson arms oem. Nothing exactly spectacular but then shoot. Rra’s usually has a tight upper-lower fit not that it matters much. I find their upper-to-barrel fit isnt as snug. Not a big deal if you do some shimming, but it subtly exactly a bcm upper either.
