What are your tranny weight loss tips?
Anonymous No.40189149
Yoga and cardio for exercise. Don't do any strength training it's a meme even cissies start looking like she-hulks if they get into /fit/ shit.
Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, good to do in general but especially when dieting so you stay on top of vitamins and minerals while cutting calories
Counting calories is the best way to lose weight, use myfitnesspal or something.
Drink a lot of water + caffeine for appetite suppressant
Stay busy and don't eat out of boredom
Don't cut out foods you enjoy just eat a relatively healthy balanced diet and control portion sizes

the most important things that haved helped me are:
1. keeping your calorie deficit REALISTIC. e.g. my TDEE is ~2.1k. My daily max intake is 1450. I started with 1700, then worked down to where i'm at now slowly. If you immediately limit yourself to like half of what you were eating pre-deficit then you're just going to give up and regain whatever you lost.
2. don't buy super calorie dense snacks to keep around the house. cookies, chips, ice cream, pizza rolls, etc. there's just no point in having all of this around if you're trying to stay in a deficit. occasionally, sure, but if keep getting it constantly you're going to keep eating it constantly.

honorable mention: apps
this doesn't help everyone but it helps me. i use a generic free weight tracking app and pair it with BitePal. you need a membership for it to really be useful but i strongly recommend it if you're fine with paying $36 for a year subscription. the financial aspect also helps me stay accountable because i don't want it to feel like a waste of money.

I have difficulty losing weight :(
but when I have done it, my success was due to

first time: calorie counting using myfitnesspal, eating at least 70 grams of protein per day while being in deficit, lots of cardio, not being too stressed out. went from 185 to 135 in seven months or so. stopped losing weight when i got a job :(

second time: was a NEET and was basically completely alone for a month before I would run out of money and have to work again. my diet was 80% potatoes, chickpeas and whole wheat pasta I made by hand (i was going through a thing at the time with making pasta), plus cheap veg like cabbage and frozen spinach and canned tomatoes and then weeds growing in my backyard like horseradish and nettles and dandelion greens. I used very minimal cooking oil this whole time. The chickpeas and potatoes and whole wheat pasta were very filling and if I spent most of the day occupying my mind playing video games or reading I also wouldn't get as hungry. I sustained eating probably 800-1100 calories per day with minimal movement and lost 17 pounds that month before I started working again and could no longer lose weight. I think stress plays a huge role in my weight loss.

cook whole foods, don't have snacks around to eat conveniently. dont drink alcohol. use minimal oil in cooking. eat enough protein but not too much meat or nuts bc they are very calorie dense. keep your mind occupied with things that you like to think about and get absorbed in to ward off hunger. physical exercise can help when you have a full life, but if you have an empty and solitary life, maybe just do absorbing things instead and eat little.

Losing weight is kinda like quitting smoking. It’s a very simple thing to do it just depends how much willpower you have.
It gets easier the longer you abstain.

another tip is to eat microwaved potatoes as a snack if you get hungry. can cook one in 5-10 mins, the texture is very good and all you need is to put seasoning salt or ketchup on them. in relation to calorie amount they are extremely filling and will give you lots of energy. eat the skin too, for the fiber and vitamins.

Calorie counting is a meme. It's the epitome of "works in theory but not in practice. The only way is to suppress your appetite somehow. Keto worked for me. Also avoiding processed crap in general. I switched from Hovis to freshly baked bread and even that noticeably dropped my appetite.

Ignore most people that want to tell you you're doing it wrong. They're not going to be around if you try it their way and it doesn't work, or they'll blame you for it instead of re-evaluating their perfect advice. If something doesn't work for you then don't be afraid to try something else. Even scientists don't agree, and there is no consensus, there are just different camps, and then there are health cults with dumb slogans like about laws of thermodynamics. You're not trying to do a controlled lab experiment, you're trying to lose weight with your body as it really functions. Calorie counting and recommended intake is one of the biggest farces in this regard, because it has been long established that metabolism slows down with age and circumstances. If you keep eating the right amount or even less then you might continue to put on weight, so you have to adjust your diet to reality.
All you need to do is try stuff and measure. If it works then you can see weight go down, if it doesn't work then weight won't go down even after weeks.

This is honestly a better idea than calorie counting. How do you think people lost weight before knowing what calories were? They rationed food by weight. Fuck knows how many calories are in granny's home stew. just eat less ounces of it until you start to lose weight.

it's like spending money and has all to do with eating + exercise, but 60% eating: 1300kcal a day if you want to go down 1500-1600kcal a day to keep it steady, ignore fluctuations in the weighing scale. learn about caloric density and eat foods can make you fuller with less calories, food substitutes, read nutritional labels before you buy stuff. it helped me lose a lot of weight in 1 year
