Maybe I want to act a certain strange way in one thread or respond in a different strange way in another one. My identity has many facets and exploring the smaller ones is how I grow as a person, but I do that by assuming an identity and seeing if it fits. Mostly the issue is it makes my skin crawl to have a post history attached to my name, people seem more interested in trying to pattern match each other to a political diagram or something than they do with genuine interaction. I made the mistake of having a reddit account attached to my email that I used in 2010 and I've had people search my name and use those posts to guilt trip me.
