oooh I hope you have seen Geology Tweets on twitter. Every day they post vids and pics of gorgeous minerals. I never understood the appeal until I saw them.

Perhaps the use of the word 'crystal' is what people infer mysticism from since that is a marketing term often used by such purveyors. Lead with the geologic interest and omit the term 'crystals' and people might interpret it more accurately. Or introduce minerals that have less of a reputation with mystics.

Neat. I had to look diorite up. Lately I have been thinking again about visiting Iceland and expect to see a lot of new, different rocks if I go, what with all the volcanos and such. They have amazing geology. I think they have those black sand beaches also.
