It's all in good fun. If you look at fan discourse for any novels, you already see plenty of stupid shit and weird takes that remind you that media literacy is not a thing anymore. An adaptation in a different format will necessarily make a lot of changes to detail.
That said, there are certain things they could really fuck up. The first book is arguably less important because so much of it is place setting and using the girl as a screen to hide the real protagonist.
