Novels are dead, dude. All of the narrative talents work in film, animation, and video games.

Like what? Also
>video game narratives
Lol
Films maybe but animation hasn't had a good showing in a while imo

Film - Oppenheimer, The Batman, The Northman, Shogun, The Terror
Animation - Attack on Titan, 86, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Vinland Saga, Chainsaw Man, Spiderman Across the Spider-Verse, The Boy and the Heron,
Video Games - Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 2, God of War: Ragnarok, Pentiment, Cyberpunk 2077

Just to name a few. All of these are at least decent relative to any novel from the last 5 years. If you don’t want to include stuff based on older source material just exclude those.

Truly riveting storytelling, anon.

>The Boy and the Heron
Maybe the only one on this list that's decent, and only because of the animation quality
I'm not trying to be snarky here but those are very mediocre in terms of storytelling

It's okay for what it is. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination.

There's plenty of good movies that released relatively recently anon, About dry grasses, parasite, three billboards, etc. And no I'm not a high brow connoisseur, I liked Ready or Not a lot and I've actually seen a decent amount of stuff on your list. This is just talking about the quality of writing, which I think novels still reign supreme in.
