lovecraft is a soldier with an itchy trigger finger. he cannot help but discharge his precious bullets. within the initial engagement, lets say the opening five paragraphs, he has already used up the entire platoon's ammunition store of the following words: impossible, indescribable, shadowy, eldritch, unnameable, and cthonic. each of those words cause the rq. officer abought a hundred dollars each. our sergeant keeps coming down on him hard but ol' loveshit just keeps blowing them away for nothing. steal from him, sure, and learn from him, yes, but please for the love-of-god have more restraint than he did.

It's kind of crazy actually that he died so young. It sounds like so long ago, but I've met people who were around 100 years old (if mostly on the two-digit side). If he'd lived to see his 100th birthday, which isn't that much of a stretch, I could have met him when I was 7 and still had a living memory of him.

He was pretty cool for letting Robert E. Howard use his universe and mythos. I like that they were pen pals. I wish I had a writer pen pal as cool as Howard or Lovecraft.

I've started reading his works and my favourite part are when he describes a black person.

Happy Birthday Mr. Lovecraft! Poured a shot of scotch whisky in celebration, might listen to an audiobook of The Night Ocean before bed. Such a great and, in my opinion, underrated story, that he wrote with R. H. Barlow.

I always find it so endearing when a story out of their circle mentions either one another's creations or the person directly.

Damn shame he missed out on so much, and we on what could've been. Like for example the atomic bomb was the first time mankind unleashed such near-unimaginable forces, and I wonder how it would've influenced his works.

absolutely because so many serious ppl still suck him off. he's like if a new writer wrote their epic prolix novel but it's actually good which is like crack to teenagers and evergreen.
