you compare Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, its day and night with the level of acid and viscera in each book - sure Tom's book had some edgy situations, even a death or two, but Huck just ramps it up bigly; there's slavery, kidnapping, drowning, robbing, shooting, drinking, child abuse; the works. there was even a nigger. needed to stick more to the former, but I think Huck was where his heart was, and I think there's a reason why its the more well-remembered.
