Code Geass Roze - Haven't watched it yet, but heard it sucked from casual fans. I don't care about hardcore fan opinions because they always make up excuses and overlook flaws.


If they can't advance the story forward, then do a prequel. Maybe throw in some former Knights of the Round from the past. Marianne should be an interesting character to explore. Maybe have some other unknown Geass users in other countries challenge and attempt to fight Emperor Charles with his Geass. Show that Brittania conquering the world wasn't so easy as we were led to believe. This should be fun slamdunk for Sunrise. I have no idea why they are failing so hard when it doesn't involve the main cast from the OG show.

No, it didn't. The last episode sure is underwhelming and directionless (plus that conclusion - wtf), but it's a good entry, with an interesting original cast, fun battles and well-designed mecha.

The ending is particularly bad (parachutes being the standard equipment of pilot seats is something established in the first series and used again and again ad nauseum, the MC going full retard with silencing her own voice), but even ignoring that its writing is so mediocre (as expected of the guy who wrote AMAIM) and the constant camoes feels like a desperate move. One of the worst anime villains too (a clone? really? plus the guy literally had no motivation). Some shitty Hokkaido having the resources for mass-production of human-shredders THAT SPREAD TO THE WHOLE WORLD UNNOTICED AND CAN'T BE STOPPED is just so embarrassing and out there that I want to forget Dakkan no Roze ever existed. It lacks the colourful cast of CG.

They have always been. Their idealisation and reliance on Zero is very shallow. And once they learn Zero's identity and that he has hypnotic abilities (still unconfirmed) - they betray him in a flash. Sure, Schneizel offered Ougi to make a deal concerning Japan's liberation in exchange for Lelouch, but how much can you trust a backstabbing Britannian noble who marries off Chinese lolis to pedos? Without Zero the Black Knights are nothing and don't you have responsibility towards other areas awaiting liberation? At that point BK are no longer Japan's army - they are more like UN forces. Ougi being the short-sighted, selfish cunt he is not only does leave Lelouch high and dry, he also gives the finger to the international community. A pinky promise from a big colonial honcho was enough to change his mind. Even Tamaki isn't as pathetic. I can understand BK's idealised image of their leader losing its rose-tint from his recent actions (massacring some research facility with children while explaining nothing? lunatic yelling about saving Nunally after millions have died?), but those are no basis for making a 180 turn and betraying him while he consistently delivered results and got them to the strongest point they have ever been. It still gets worse. Why the hell did they even join Schneizel to oppose Emperor Lelouch? There is nothing for them to gain - one Britannian noble duking it out with another should be like Christmas coming early for them.

The point is that while I could see them buying the "britannian prince" bit - they really have no right to be mad at that, they knew Zero wasn't japanese for a long time now and they followed his philosophy of "it's not the person that matters but the results", but now that his identity is revealed, suddenly it's who you are that matters most.
Them basically instantly buying into the Geass stuff and turning their guns on Zero no questions asked is what I find ridiculous, I'm pretty sure none of them even knew that geass or any other supernatural shit even existed at that point in time.

Why didn't Bandai turn Code Geass into a Gundam-like franchise, with multiple anime projects every 2-3 years? I don't understand their way of thinking.
