It's based on the unadopted Canadair CL-227 Sentinel series of drones from the 80s which had a similar peanut shape. No gases inside, just fuel for the engine and ammo.

Here is the AMS-90x Gunboy, an all rounder grunt unit of rough equivalency to the rx-78 in performance which was produced in order to replace other ms that filled the roles previously during the war.
Zeon and EFSF color versions
RX-80-B Gundam Butterfly, a high powered special operations mobile suit developed at the very end of the zeon revolt in december of 0080.
Deployed during operation butterfly at Von Braun, it was shot down and never recovered.

I did this for kid that I worked with. I had dropped my keys into a drain at an animal shelter just before closing. The kid somehow got it out with his hands. So I drew this up in MS Paint did a quick background and put it through Photoshop. However I never got the chance to give it to him as he was fired. Then I was fired a few months after. I'm still being fired.
