I hate to say it but I think the other reason for the lack of Quattro wank is because the most impressive thing he did in Zeta was probably surviving both Haman and Scirocco in the 2v1.

Which, desu, is impressive but there isn't much else he does on that level over Zeta. I wouldn't call him a jobber in Zeta. He's a solid and dependable member of the Argama but, as I think I saw someone else say, the advent of more advanced machines and more piloting savants to fight really put Char on the backfoot, especially in a machine that ultimately wasn't much better than the Gundam Mk II.

If the Hyaku Shiki wasn't better than the Mk-II they never would have made so many ace variants and tried to mass produce it. Plus, the thrust total only accounts for its 4 backpack thrusters. The thrusters on the leg, which it uses all the time, could put it on the same level of maneuverability as the Zeta and above the Mk-II.

UC Engage actually really answered why they don't get together really well. After the launch, he gets shipped to Luna 2 and Jaburo right away whilst the rest of the White Base crew are held up by officials and questioned. Amuro keeps asking to see the crew, especially Sayla, and Sayla was protective of Amuro being split apart from the crew but neither got their wish, then Amuro was always too busy and under Federation eyes to see Sayla.
Its implied Fraw tries to see Amuro tons of times before finally succedding right before Zeta, then of course in Zeta.

Sentinel happens because the New Dessides leadership feared that AEUG members took control of the Federation following the end of the Gryps War and it says that the AEUG vs Titans was like an internal struggle between the Federation's spacenoids and earthnoids. There were some that joined Axis, according to Haman in ZZ, but the AEUG also had some independent forces left in ZZ too. And at the end a combined Federation-AEUG fleet show up at Axis to fight Neo Zeon too late.

No. That was a project by Yasuhiko to fix a mistake that always bothered him. The original episode was badly animated due to having to outsource it and Yasuhiko being so sick he was in the hospital. He really liked the original concept of the episode and wanted to remake it. The movie was that opportunity. He's 77, so there wasn't a whole lot more time that he would be able to re do the episode and he wasn't able to get it done while making the Origin manga.

It wasn't really a test run for a full MSG remake, but if it did well, they wanted to do the same treatment on some other episodes. Mostly expanding the 20 minute plot into more developed 100 minute ones that allow them to go through the themes better. Probably not the battle ones, but the ones like Doan's Island that were most central with the series anti-war themes. He never liked any of the sequel series and their focus on newtypes and he thought they distorted the message that he and others were trying to create in MSG.

In theory the J types are more optimized than the F type for earth use, but it's mostly cost-cutting to save money. Spec-wise the differences are so small that for most pilots the individual's skill ends up mattering more than if they have a J or F type when fighting on Earth
