That's what irked me about the Alpha Timeline: what can be referenced and what couldn't due to the series lists each game had.

In Alpha Gaiden, Amuro Ray disabling a nuclear missile was mentioned but the original Mobile Suit Gundam, where that event happened, isn't among the series in Alpha Gaiden. Then in Alpha 3, Orphan was only alluded to because Brain Powerd wasn't in Alpha 3.

There's going to be a stream this thursday with "PV2.5" for Y. Since they are calling it that instead of PV3 it will probably be really short but I hope it shows something unexpected at least

Side units have always had few attacks since SRW 4 or alpha. that's not really the problem with modern SRW. Removing options, like removing jet features from from vehicles that can historically transform, that's one of the problems. Only 3 Shrike Team girl. it would have been enough to make all the available pilots, but with limited units. At the beginning you are forced to choose what pilot to use until you have extra units, but it would have been more elegant instead of putting only 3 character and the rest as ghost units.

Remember, we got two dimensional travelers already in the two other composite franchises (Kamen Rider has Decade and Legend, and Ultraman has Zero and Z, and while there are more among them, those pairs are heavily established and interconnected) and the Z series has dimensional merges as a major factor in the story, which is leading up to getting the band back together and get rebooted with a newer cast. Heck, I would be happy if they do it in a 3D chibi style like SD Gundam G Generation.

While they didnt use the multiverse excuse before Z2, sometimes the titles included are either post plot or take place in the far distant planet from earth. Hell, the reason they have time travel in alpha gaiden is because they have no idea to integrate those series to the current alpha plot.

I'm actually really glad Gridman Universe didn't get in Y since Gridman was a multiverse story about two worlds in a way. I kind of forget how it works exactly but Gridman made the Dynazenon universe right? And infinite more were implied? And the GQ timeline is the result of Lalah.


It would have been fun to see it in a game with Singular Point because of its 4th dimension stuff but oh well.

It would be really fun if they could do dual versions of robot shows at the same time for multiple series. I can't think of anything off the top of my head though.

J has between 12 and 14 series depending on whether one counts the Mazinkaiser movie and FMP Fumoffu seperate from their parent series or not, similarly W could be considered as having a roster as small as 10 if you fold spinoffs and sequels in with their parent series, and this mostly continues for the rest of the DS and 3DS games(and Neo) of being somewhere between 10 and 14 series each(again assuming you're folding in spinoffs and direct sequels and such in with their parent series), indeed this also applies to R and D before them, of the Nintendo exclusive* SRW games made in the modern era(after Alpha 1) only A and GC break past 15 series(having 20 and 19 series respectively)

*so not counting any of the games that have been released on the Switch since those are multi-platform titles

Eh, I can see the argument for stuff that's basically unit-only, like listing Beltorchika if you're justing the Hi-Nu Gundam or the Dunbine OVA if you're just using the Sirbine, but if the sequels/spin-offs have their own cast and units or upgrades that come alongside story/conflict then folding them absolutely doesn't make sense. Especially when stuff like old Super Robots without their villains (so, basically just an extra unit) happens so often.

Its more of a curiosity at this point. They did a PS3 remake of the game around when Z3 came out, mostly preserves the gameplay but added a bunch of extra stages.
