Turn A was originally supposed to be followed up by a sequel. Turn A Space was a name thrown around and so was Turn A Galia Senki.

Some ideas I had was Guin fleeing to Garia to start another industrial revolution, leading into another war or a cosmic horror coming from beyond the solar system to reclaim the Turn X in the style of awakening of the trailblazer.

maybe someone digs out the ∀ and X from their cocoon and it metamorphisized into a new Turn Unit and they go crazy from the power.

It would be a slice of life series about the Earthnoids and Moonrace trying to coexist, maybe with other Earth nations not agreeing to let Moonrace settle in their land. Maybe Kihel gets found out and this causes issues.

I think someone did a blogpost tracking what people had said about the sequel ideas and where they ended up. I think the conclusion was that elements of different sequel ideas ended up in MS Saga/Gundam True Odyssey, King Gainer, and G-Reco.

Because it's more advanced. Venus Globe has the tech to move planets to a different galaxy. And also because the war between Ameria and Gondwana that gets mentioned a few times is the plot of Turn A Space, which takes place within the year after the end of Turn A.

The way I see it, considering Tomino said it takes place 500 years after Turn A.

Tomino's notes for the show in "Don't Underestimate the Making of Anime - Thoughts on G-Reco" also said Ameria and Gondwana dug up weapons from the Black History to start their war. But that's totally a nod to Turn A Space, which was going to be about exactly that.

Moonrace is tired of all these earth immigrants bringing in third world people with third world problems

Tensions rise.

A pandemic occurs that is killing off moonrace in unprecedented amounts thanks to some earth tribal immigrant.

Moon becomes hostile towards earth. Earth accuses the moon of intentionally brain draining

Politics becomes polarized on earth and moon as both begin targeting one another. Economies crash as the pandemic worsens.

A cult of the mustache arises. They worship it as a god and beleive it will wake up from its cacoon and bring forth a rapture and all the mustache beleivers will become one with the butterfly and be rewarded with a higher existence.

The mustache apocalypticists begin sabotaging the life support systems in the moon while deploying dirty bombs all over earth.

The butterfly will awake from its cacoon and must be protected in a war of resistance against the forces of the moon and earth.

MC is a mustache cultist who gradually becomes red pilled and wakes up to the horrible shit hes doing. Develops a mind connection with the Turn A and X who have become self aware and wish to stop the mustachemen and use the Nano machines to reverse the pandemic and instead have them all be interconnected with each other into a single mind of understanding.

I'm assuming if a sequel had been greenlit before the show ended the Turn A wouldn't have been sealed in the cocoon.

It’s worth noting that Tomino admits he doesn’t have the authority to really decide it, but he had the mindset it would be 500 years after Turn A. He says it’s fine if official or fan timelines contradict this.

Tomino considers Turn A to be the end of Gundam, and G-Reco to be trying to move beyond Gundam.

The show hints at military build up for future conflict with forces from Gallia/overseas, so they probably did have another war after the show ended. It's pretty much the same ending as pretty much every gundam show Tomino wrote. They bury one conflict but there's potential for a new one right after.

It seems like it went through a lot of churn on Tomino's side. Not to mention, he was busy with King Gainer, which also went through some churn during conceptualization and planning. Supposedly his initial memos were for a much darker show but he changed his mind after Okouchi was hired on the series composer. Although King Gainer already had its own concept, "Gain-Gainer," I don't doubt some ideas intended for a Turn A sequel made it into the final show. Maybe he was satisfied with that until Wings of Rean crashed and burned
