Statistically which would be better for this and future map events, a unit of lower rank that gets two of the boosts (like an SR rank Z Gundam Tough As Nails unit), or a higher rank unit that only nets one of 'em like a Wing SSR? You just fucking know that for all intents and purposes, two half-baked GQuuuuuuX would need a complete version with four different attacks (Beam Saber, Heat Hawk, Beam Rifle, Omega Psycommu Overdrive EX). Completely different use cases, Divider is meant to be a tank while X is an attacker. That said, base X isn't amazing in general. 4500 isn't bad but it's 4-4 range tension locked skill WITHOUT a bonus effect which lowers it's value considerably. It's next best is only an unimpressive 3600, and that's the only attack with a damage modifier. X divider is very solid though, very high HP(second highest of dev units I believe, after the O) along with decent defense and relatively strong attacks for a defender make it quite usable. A shame the attack down is on the saber instead of the divider cannon though.

Genesis seems to be playable on Yuzu or Ryujinx switch emulators, so you could even play on a smartphone if you wanted to.

Yeah but you have to pirate it I guess. I don't know if you can still buy on Vita but on the PS3 it's a pain in the ass to buy things. One thing to note regarding the difference between Vita and Switch. Is that they kinda fucked up an update on the Vita there's supposed to be a CDA DLC but they fucked it up and you need to edit some things to get it if you have a hacked Vita since the files are already there. The Switch doesn't have this problem.

Genesis isn't bad, but it kinda fucked over the balance.

In average GGen titles, high end suits like Strike Freedom and 00 have a leg up because of stats, abilities and weapon loadouts. But you can make something like a GM or Ball massively overpowered by pumping its stats on level.

What Genesis did was increase every unit's base stats by a factor 10 compared to previous games, but kept the stat points you gain from levelling suits the same. On top of that, with everything being UC, early UC series really get eclipsed by CCA, Unicorn and Hathaway's Flash units, stats-wise.

If you don't care about stat autism it's a fun game, though.

Its one of the reasons I enjoy Gihren's Greed games for instance. Wish games like Gundam Battle Universe limited suit advancement to a degree to make you have to improve your suit via upgrading to more advanced tech.

Most of my flying units happen to be alt-modes of some units like the Zeta and S Gundam, so they can't use their best attacks.

The big problem is that it doesn't solve the biggest red flag problem: if you have the shiny new UR, you win, and if you don't have it you're fucked. Strike Freedom was basically the key to success in the first one, and even if you didn't have it you still had to contend with everybody ELSE having it. And next time around, its equivalent will be even MORE heavily boosted.

Latest gift pushed me enough for a 10-roll, still no Strike Build but hey, one more UR and another DSH might help me out for the last few bits of the current event.

Basically everything you're fielding is boosted by the same amount though. It doesn't matter. It just mandates you use tags or you'll get gigafucked. Which is fine, using the tags is fun conceptually, but it's definitely the same old bullshit of being the playground for a new shiny UR by design and that's lame. But ultimately the tag changes don't matter at all. 50% more damage from UR X doesn't matter at all when you're getting 50% more health and defense on all your shit.

It's gacha, that problem will never be solved. This at least forces people to use on tag suits, which in turn means the chances of people using SSRs to fill gaps increases. F2P will never beat turbo whales in PVP modes but it lessens the gap between lesser spenders and F2P. You won't be able to just rely on one MLB UR forever after all, and lesser spenders won't likely always have the newest and bestest.

in terms of support, Red Zeta blows past Aquarius though. It's 5 range and has a great debuff on its range 5 attack + the rarest of the debuffs on its highest damage attack. Aquarius gets extremely nice terrain compatibility and its debuffs are fine, but a tier below Red Zeta.

I love Aquarius, it's the only one I personally have UR+'d, but I think there's no contest for best Ultimates in Red Zeta and Hyperion. I don't see any particular reason to really value Casval's Gundam, but it's certainly fine I guess.

UR+ Casval's Gundam is probably the strongest dev/other attacker we have access to currently(even without considering it's series boost). I'd certainly take a UR over it normally but for dev unit only missions you can't use those.

It's honestly really easy to get something similar in power (or stronger) to it with SP coins, which are less limited than the UR+ mats. I don't think I can say the same about RZ and Hyperion. Forbidden is a pretty reasonable SP'd Hyperion replacement, but Hyperion is definitely still better. SP'd Freedom, ZZ/EZZ/ FA ZZ, Justice etc are all at least arguably better than Casval's Gundam.

People always sleep on the patulia but it's a really good SP target too. 5 range and two damage boosting passives. One of the highest attack stats among dev units. The sole shortcoming it has is lack of compatible pilots but that will surely solve itself once we get a X banner or event.

Are you? 10% physical deduction and 30% beam reduction plus a shield is solid. The skills aren't an issue. SPing any defender is dumb though, doesn't matter if it's SPed or not, it's taking at most two attacks before dying. Doesn't matter if it's hyperion, any of the psychos, or unSPed forbidden. Hell, most strats use a defensive pilot in a support suit with a defensive skill over actual defender suits because it's still a two hit ko and you might as well get a debuff out of things before it keels over. Perfect strike, freedom meteor, and qubeley(zeta) are the best dev tree defenders.

Against SEED units Hyperion will take way more than that. Plus you get a heal from your supporter most likely, and your pilot can have one too. They can definitely last more than two attacks in general but especially Hyperion in its niche. I agree I wouldn't SP any defender, but I' would absolutely recommend URing Hyperion. URing an Ult is pretty cheap in the long run and it outperforms every other Defender by a mile when SEED - one of the most numerous tags - shows up.

Note, UR, not UR+. UR+ is a heavy investment. I'd still say it's a better choice gameplay wise just because SEED is likely to have powerful tag units forever to counter even if Destiny and Freedom are their own tags. At the end of the day I don't think any UR+ is a must have but Red Zeta and Hyperion have the strongest use cases going forward that I can see. Really excited to see what Destiny's Ult is gonna be.

Yes, the most common type of attack by far. Same limitation as an ifield by the way. If it's melee or funnels use a different suit.

The most important defender debuffs are on Psyco, Quin and Narrative - MAP enemy ATK debuffs, that don't require them to get hit back. Anything else isn't that good.

Hyperion's attack down isn't on a MAP attack though. Kinda a big difference there, the ATK-down normal attacks are honestly apples to oranges. Useful for some situations but way more rarely.

Doesn't need to be a map attack if you are using range+1 or sway. In that specific use case I used range+1 against one of the 4 range bosses. I find map attacks on defenders aren't great due to the movement limitation and the fact that you usually just need to debuff a boss anyway.

I know. But Map attacks are actually useful for hitting multiple enemies with no counterattack. You can hit Psyco and Quin with Narrative's in Extreme 1 for instance. If the terrain compat was kinder, Narrative would be very nice in the Protag ER too to mass-debuff Gato's whole squad. In fact it already is right now, but it's really not the best way of going about it. Stuff like the SEED ER would be a very nice usecase for mass ATK debuffing too. It's a good feature to have.
