Some anons come from /krg/ like to overplay the bad parts of every show and are doing the same here basically acting like a few issues completely ruin the season and makes it the worst thing they've ever seen in their lives.
But that's the minority here since this isn't /krg/, most of the complaints for Gozyuger has been valid and some anons have rightfully dropped the show since it's really different. Also Gozyuger had the worst start out of any of the Reiwa seasons but it isn't bad it's a pretty good show so far, at the very least it isn't as bad as how Boonboomger was at this point.

I must have way different taste than tons of the anons in these threads because I've liked the more unorthodox or serialized sentai I've seen but thought most of the normal or slice of life/MOTW ones that people seem to like here were incredibly weak or just sort of alright or miss way too many opportunities.
I just don't see what people like in the ones where they just sit around and the plot stagnates for tons of episodes because usually the characters or monsters aren't super amazing either, and usually there are not really big stakes or any feeling of real danger until the end, if at all, and the character moments are spotty or inconsistent.

Tradition and nostalgia when the first 30 years or so are built off of routine of standard A-B-C story progression its what people think of. Like you said non serialized MOTW episodes have been the norm since Battle Fever

This is /m/, of course most of us love Mecha and Mecha with facial features like OG transformers I don't know what you were expecting. As for Mecha fights it really depends on the season, like a lot of Showa and Kobayashi seasons the mecha fights are done extremely quickly and the monsters seem to forget the powers they had before they became giant making them extremely boring and forgettable. But for most of Heisei mecha fights despite forced still manage to be fun because the writing and execution.
