Catching up to Gavv right now and despite the Handymen/odd jobs occupation the mcs have, they really only did self-contained and customer of the week stories in the beginning again. Good episode, the emotional beats were nice and Caking's return was unexpected but really cool. Would be better if the show made a better effort to make me care about Glotta and Lango instead of having this "they cared deeply about their family all along" bullshit thrown at us last minute, and I wish they had done something more elaborate with the Puddingte Gochizo like using the unfinished cup Gochizo Dente made or having it be something included in the "mystery" briefcase that Dente gave to Lakia, but there's still chance for the former to happen if Hanto gets a last minute P-Bandai upgrade I guess.

One cannot rate these shows objectively due to how vastly different they are from each other. Like if you watch Kamen Rider mostly for the villains then you wouldn't find Gavv that fun despite being a show that receives almost universal praise.
The closest way to rate the show's objectively would be by "which show had the least amount of bad things", so

Dezastar and the Suel arc weren't as offensive as Revice shitting the bed, but Geats Q4 was genuinely the first time in years that I've dropped a show and led to me skipping Gotchard altogether as well. I went back to rewatch it from the start earlier this year to finish and my opinion on it didn't really improve either.

To make it worse, despite Revice being an awful show that squandered its potential, it does have some pretty high peak if you ignore what's around it. Demons debut, Volcano, Vail debut, Destream debut, EvilityLive debut were all great episodes/moments surrounded by the mountain of horseshit.

As far as the actual special effects/choreography part goes, Zero One is a 10/10 in my book. Nailed the aesthetic, top class choreography from JAE, effect looks fantastic. Even when the writing was shitting the bed I was still excited to watch just for the fight scenes.

Conversely, this is why the V-Cinema failed so badly. Its the terrible writing without the directing and choreography to carry it.

As someone who recently finished Agito for the first time, I know the answer to that. It's pretty simple, in the first episode during his introductory fight G3 sees the monsters call him Agito. As for why they wanted to capture him so bad, same reason why the cops went after Kuuga in early Kuuga, dude looked like an unidentified monster.

Revice was doomed from the start because the writer is a fuckhead and he never wanted to write something good anyway. From production notes it seemed he got picked because somebody liked one work of his, despite him going against production the entire time and making shit plot choices out of spite.

COVID hurt Zero-One way more than it hurt Saber. Saber suffered from shit writer syndrome first and foremost. Same as Revice and Gotchard, except Gotchard also suffered from a shit producer. Not that it would've made it any better but still.

No it didn't, if anything Covid helped Zero-One since it's what led to Aruto becoming Ark-One which was more interesting than the original plan but sadly led to a bunch of stuff getting cut and then resolved in the second part of the Thouser special. But the biggest problems of Zero-One which were the job arc and Thouser had nothing to do with Covid.
Saber on the other hand had to abandon its much cooler original plan, had to cut ton of stuff due to the shorter runtime and tighter schedules.

COVID caused Saber's entire first quarter to get rewritten into the mess we saw, since they wanted to dump "loner traveler Touma" and go with the more child friendly writer with a bookstore (which did play a role with some kids in Q1 before it was pushed aside), kind of like how Fourze was meant to be positive after the tusnami tragedy. This kind of messed with his general personality and also caused his motivations to feel odd too though, since it was clearly rewritten over their original concept. Since he was meant to think about rescuing Luna from vague memories, but not obsessed enough to actually drop his life and dedicate himself to it like it was originally, leaving him in this rather awkward middle term, especially when they attempted to push that motivation for drama.

It's also the reason for the ending theme eating screentime from every episode (which was clearly awkward for the directors used to longer episodes, especially in q1). It was thrown there in case they had problems later on due to COVID, since it'd mean less footage per episode. Same goes with the narrator.

On the other hand, I guess you could also just blame the producer for all that. He's the same guy who got scared by "voices" after the Drive movie screening and rushed to mess with Ghost's 1st quarter, so he always seemed to be very nervous and fearing negative reactions from parents to his shows.
