Getter Dragon came right after Getter 1, and after Great Mazinger did badly in sales I guess they realized it had to look distinct from its predecessor. Then you have many years without Getter and when it returns with Getter Go, all other designs aside from Gou (and then Neo) are homages to either the original Getter or Getter Dragon rather than trying something very different again.

As for it being evil... well, due to not being the main Getter design, it ends up being the Getter used by the villains during a lot Armageddon.

In the manga, an evolution of the Dragon, Saint Dragon (Kyodai Dragon in the New Getter anime), is shown ruling over a horrible future Ryoma sees where people are integrated into Getters, but that's just part of the whole mess of the future leading to Getter Emperor and you get plenty of Getters with designs closer to Getter 1 involved in that mess too, like Arc ending up with the team facing "Getter One" (Ten/Heaven) to stop the Emperor future, which is clearly more Getter 1 based, not Dragon.

Let's suppose we're talking about actual animations and sprite look from the recent games (so no SRW1 remake assets), and that they can reuse any voiceline they have
The main issue for most older titles is Toei Getter, who has a bunch of units, enemies and characters that are too different or simply don't exist in Armageddon
Most Toeizinger enemies could be patchworked together from what they have with Shin and Mazinkaiser (including whatever they have in DD)
For UC well the obvious issue is the lack of OYW and assorted OVA units, but DD did bring back WitP and SM so maybe not all is lost
Grendizer is in DD but I don't know how much they can resuse from it (mostly enemies since the animations are for the gacha)
Most other series are lacking in enemies but do have the protagonist suit in HD
With that said there is no game that could be remade without creating additional HD units, but I guess some of the GBA games should be the easiest (but even those would need additional units, like for Armageddon), followed by the classic series (many enemy units need to be done, as well as anything UC, Getter and the last non-HD holdouts like Daimos or Goshogun). Alpha's problem is Macross. The DS games each have at least one series that needs to be done from scratch (and doesn't even have voice acting)
In the end it depends on how far they're willing to go. They did fully redub Cagalli in that remastered Seed game so even Bamco is willing to put some effort with a remaster, and eventually an HD unit made for a remake could be reintroduced in mainline sequels too

Re-reading the answers posted above, I have a feeling they're going to use the new engine as a base to help make the games "multiplatform" faster for future titles, including porting older titles. What I mean is doing something like the Suikoden remasters where they mix old and new assets but have the game run on a modern engine
So not full remakes but not simple emulated ports either. This way they don't need to make full HD assets or redone voice acting but at the same time they can still add extra translations or additional rebalancing/difficulty options

Shaddiq's problem is that they didnt really know what they wanted to do with him, so he feels all over the place. His plans are also way too contradictory for someone that's supposed to be one of the smartest people in the cast.
