I just don't understand where the praise comes from. It's not interesting, the characters are all flat, and nothing about it stood out to me in any way other than the ending song. The good episodes all came from dying old men who worked on the original show or Leo. But that's a subject for another general.

Yeah the way the achieve that was because King-Ohger started development earlier than usual helping get the 3D backgrounds ready on time. Also the director being extremely involved with the creation of the backgrounds and the show initially having 3 producers. So Zeztz at least has 2 of the 3 factors that allowed the backgrounds to look as good as they did.

Unlikely, but the younger ages are because Toei Tokusatsu is usually a career-launching platform. It's just changed from stuntmen/action stars in training to male models and singers.
They'd need to make a Tsuburaya-esque move where they want to see an older actor tackle things and serve as a different kind of role model. The leads of these shows are generally seen as "Big brothers" which is harder to do when the character is 35 and not 18-20. Hibiki needed Asumu to serve as a kid perspective angle, for example.

What I don't get is how they originally described Zeztz as "heavy" and "metallic" and implied that he has a very Showa-esque design, but the end result ended up becoming the polar opposite with the Showa stuff being homages in colors with the suit, belt, and bike. Of course it could be the bike robot that they were describing, but it's still odd because I'm sure they would've known the difference and the robot's color is supposed to be Cyclone's color scheme.

Speaking of the bike robot, I hope it ends up being an actual character kind of like a combination of Auto Vajin and Mr. Belt instead of just a nonverbal assist robot like Auto Vajin was. They could especially have a really cool buddy dynamic that most people expected from Revice if done right and since there's no mention of a secondary (yet), maybe we'll get the secondary in Q2 with their own bike buddy similar to what Boonboomger did.

According to color the keyword they were given was "metal rider" and the color scheme given was green, black and silver
But in the end the only silver part of the suit was the antenna and Zeztz is far more organic making it more confusing that they would give that keyword to toy stores. But even weirder I guess is that lemon never corrected color despite him theoretically having had seen the suit way earlier

Espada's Wonder Combo doesn't retool anything but Saber did use hedgehog and Alangina, but again it doesn't feel like a final form at all. I guess Kento was Calibur and had Jaoh but that was him being another rider and using an upgrade that the previous user used.

Those two are technically still part of Q1 so I don't consider them the same "final form" as everyone from Jeanne to Vram.

Well, it does look like an upgrade (because it basically is), adding more armor on top of the base suit and drastically changing the look of the helmet. Actual Tertiary final forms and Jaou Dragon aren't too far off from it in the amount of changes to the base suit, and in some cases have even less like Invincible Jeanne.

Most of the stories already have a solid enough ending, but even then we get sequels like the V-Cinexts

That post mentions nothing about the face actor or the suit actor, and the whole "Kenta Nitta will be the face actor" isn't a leak or even a rumor, just a theory based on Nitta's previous experience. The only thing we know is that he's going to be the suit actor since that was said by the same guy who leaked a bunch of Gavv pictures like the first look to Bake's gun or the A La Mode Gochizo. Him being the face actor is still a really unlikely thing.

Everything about this show is fucking weird. The suit is a homage to Ichigo, but the premise is the least Showa theme imaginable, being a CGI and green screen heavy show, and the main suit doesn’t even have a belt on the hips. Its like they combined two different shows into one, a Showa themed season and your usual wacky Reiwa premise.
I don’t like that Takahashi is writing this, but everything about this is so strange that it might not even feel like him. Especially if there’s only 2 riders for most of Q1 like Gotchard and Gavv did. It’s putting him in a position where he can’t do most of his usual tropes, or at least not all of them at once.
The fight scenes worry me though, especially if they are all on green screen. King Ohger looked alright but it was also a show about a group of heroes sword fighting. Is such a universal premise your brain can tolerate it on a green screen world as long as the fighting is good. But Zeztz has a weirder arsenal and stranger powers so it may backfire. It will definitely not feel as grounded and personal as Gavv’s fights.
