I was just never tremendously attached to Lalah for whatever reason, nor did we really see much of this universe's Char to warrant that he somehow deserved a happy ending. He's enough of our UC's Char for Chalia to be worried, but a lot of things also happened off-camera which might make him a different kind of person (and we're not shown enough of this for us to care).

I'm gifted with being absolute garbage with words so I might repeat myself or fail to communicate my thoughts, that is if you're asking in good faith anyway. What makes it a wreck to me is mainly the very short number of episodes. They tried to cram 30+ episodes worth of content in 12, making everything happen really fast, which wouldn't be an issue if there wasn't all this plot they wanted to include. Things that canonically happen are implied rather than shown. Interesting points come and go and are never developped, because there's not enough time. You don't feel for the moments that happened because they weren't shown, like machu's training with chalia for exemple. A lot of what happen feels like it happen out of nowhere and isn't earned. It feels like things happen just because. You know those kind of projects you don't have enough time for so you throw together what you can, making the end result subpar

I really really did not like the Anubis Evangelion Gqux design, which is what it looked like to me. I like Evangelion and Egypto shit, but what would it be doing here? It felt a bit out of place, I'd maybe have been moreso favourable to it if I wasn't hoping to get an Evangelion already. The opening head I'll admit is cool, I thought about the earlier Knightmare frames from Code Geass with the opening head, and its face connecting or disconnecting from wires is pretty cool.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that 24 episodes would have been sufficient. It's just that it felt like this show had the fucking hubris to plan its writing while somehow expecting 12 episodes. Gridman and Dynazenon were mostly fine despite their length. (One had better characters and the other had a better story, so you could argue that 12 eps is difficult to do both, but it didn't leave me with 20 questions and a migraine)

Yeah that was a little dumb. I found ghost shuji to be dumber. Usually newtype ghosts are dead people. Here, he appears as a ghost for no good reason. Probably using the newtype powers of rose lalah but there's nothing to indicate he is. And fred fucking died too, my two favorite things of the show died while no one else did. Also wish shuji didn't reciprocate machu's love. Not out of spite, but that would have been a good wake up call for her and her obsession. I think the problem there is what you said, shuji never accounted for either machu or nyan in his plans. He's shown to be a somewhat kind/caring boy during machu's first clan battle and protects her, but ultimately as soon as he teleports away he doesn't think about the girls at all anymore. When girls/women in UC got obsessed with a man, the man usually did something out of it. Either obsess back (newtype connection like amuro/lalah or kamille/four) or manipulate the girl (char/scirocco). Even reccoa fucked off after quattro no way fag'd her enough times. I'm not sure where I'm getting at. Either way shuji's I love you to machu came out as really shallow. I just did not like the random claw and beast motif, but it might be because I was introduced to it unceremoniously in SRW 30 (it's just DLC only, so Mika and Orga chime in now and then with little to none of their story) instead of like, it making sense to gradually become that throughout the show.

I don't have those, I only have/had super glue before that dried up as well. Put the last wad of it in the skirt joints since I always mess up cutting the skirt, and the super glue congealed nicely into some weird gummy gunk. I'll look into the MG Barbie, still haven't decided what my first MG would be. I follow /gpg/ here and on /toy/ but they usually tell me to paint and do 50 thousand other things (but never post their own kits). Someone's recent (MG?) Guntank looked nice with just a simple layer of topcoat though, I was legitimately surprised. Aside from the plastic swirling I don't really mind a happy cartoon look, I've only been panel-lining with a marker which seemed both necessary and fun.

Super glue can work too, just applying a layer and letting it dry is fine, and if there's too much you can always sand it or use a hobby knife, it'll take some time for the kit to get loose anyway, unless you pose it several times a day every single day. A painted kit will always look better but it's also a huge investment in both time and money, not everyone wants to commit to it. I highly recommend top coating, not only for looks because it also seals anything that's beneath it like panel lining, marker details and water decals. No risks of accidentally removing any of it with a layer of clear coat

I've only had to use water decals for two kits (for a girl robot and Lacus, for their eyes) but it was an absolute nightmare, and I don't really need a billion detail decals for my kits, although I should probably treat one kit to them so I see how it looks in-hand. Maybe having the serial number and 50 caution/warning labels is fine in person. Inversely I didn't even panel-line my Gyan because I wanted him to remain pure and look even less like a robot and moreso like a living knight.

It's depressing that this was some people's first Gundam show, but at least it got people to start watching the original show (hopefully the show). It does feel nice returning to your first show and properly understanding the callbacks.

Painting is better with an airbrush for sure. Rattlecans can give you good results too but they're expensive and you can't control the flow or pressure. Sometimes topcoat can help hide little imperfections on both bare plastic and painted surfaces

Depends on the kit but mainly depends on your tastes. It's nice to do once in a while just for the sake of it, but it's not my cup of tea. Ver ka kits always come with a fuckton of them

I'll be honest, Haman had that spot before gqux. Kycilia made a strong impression on me in 0079 but wasn't top tier just yet, though she wasn't far. It's insane how much of a glowup she got in gqux, same with challia. Really love her eyes in gqux. Yesterday when looking at art on pixiv I instantly recognized one as AI because the eyes were the wrong color. Gqux team did a good job with anything that wasn't pokemon artstyle. I got used to the latter with time but I still don't like it

Made me think how odd that one thing Khara carried over from the original show is how some characters had radically different designs like Bright, Mirai or the kids. In fact it made me think she was some unrelated background character at first.

RG God Gundam did as well, I should give it a try for at least one kit. I think I applied only the 08 number to HG Ez-8 but maybe I'll look into the few others it came with.

Ok mentioning Haman is cheating because it's pretty much a given if you're a hag supremacist, it's a bit unfair to Kycilia. (Remember when we thought Machu was Haman, or that Haman would show up at all?) Kycilia looked a bit rough in 0079 if I'm being honest, and she looked a bit odd in Origin. I think I'm more of a bandwagoner than a dedicated fan for Kycilia, but it's never too late for someone to grow up and realize the error of their ways.

You can always try to copy poses from promo pics. Sometimes if I have trouble posing I try to do the pose myself in front of a mirror. Autistic but it does help a little with understanding what to move and how, if the kit can support it.

Shit happens but you can get used to it. I paint in a garbage heap, I accepted that my paintjobs will never be perfect because of the amount of dust flying in there. One of my kits even has the remnants of a mystery flying insect on his back skirt. At least with a double action airbrush you can spray just air before paint in order to whoosh away dust or hair on the part, can't do that with rattlecans. Doesn't matter if an insect decides to seppuku in paint while you spray anyway
RG god is the last kit I finished, the decals look nice on him. The smaller ones were a pain I'll give you that. I have a couple chink kits with decals applied on bare plastic and never topcoated, they still hold on but I also used mark setter. Also someone posted a gyan painted with metallics >>23370415

A genuinely commendable or at least interesting amount of mental strength, I can only relax if it's a cheap armybuilder or something I don't care immensely about (and have more fun with it). Think it's more of an issue of ventilation for me, unless I outright decide to paint in the park.
I was half-tempted to apply decals to the RG God, at least the Chinese bits, but I backed out of it, already messed up on one copy of the eye and chest stickers when building. Got myself some chink nobels, but haven't even markered them since they're made from ABS. And yeah, I saw that Gyan! That was one major highlight of this show, I still don't know if I'd get a kit for it though.

Yeah, I do remember some anon asking about Bright and Kai and others and a response telling him to shut up and leave them alone, you can't carry a show with these cameos, nor do we even want to drag them into this hell at this point. Seeing her happy or at least somehow prettier would have been nice, but nothing crucial.

The secret to that is also autism. Ventilation can be tricky. Cheap foldable paint boothes often get recommended. It's always possible to set something up indoors but it's only easy if you live alone, I wouldn't want my pets to inhale lacquer fumes. Then painting out in the open is also a way, but you'd need something to protect from wind. A tiny breeze is enough to send what you spray in your face, it's not a pleasant experience

It's fine to panel line bare plastic, especially with markers, it's not as harsh as tamiya panel liner. It's also fine to panel line bare plastic with the latter, so long as it's before assembly and the parts aren't soaked in it
I like gqux gyan but I think the original remains superior, not because old good new bad, that's just how I feel. Z'gok and gyan are the first suits I think of thinking of 0079 suits

Apparently kai was supposed to show up with miharu but they decided against it. It would've been to show machu what a normal/healthy couple is. Then they thought machu already knows what it is thanks to her parents, except once again it's something that's never been shown, her dad never appears and you'd think that because of his job he'd always be away from home. I've seen anons say that bright died on the day char stole the gundam. Best fate he could've had in this universe
