Just finished Agito and have a question: WTF?
We're they making it up as they went along? They were introducing normal plot points in episode 49. It's like they forgot the show had to end and they just WELP let's just half-ass Kuuga's ending. Hikawa leaves to take a plane in episode 50 and in 51 he just comes back, "didn't get in the plane." So all the emotion from him leaving was for nothing? Ashihara fucking gets killed and then is fine, "I'm immortal."
The plot is such a shitshow. But on the other hand, the characters are really likeable and the normal scenes are fun to watch.
Also, I got cravings for ramen and Japanese barbecue now for some reason.

From Drive to Build they all had crossovers in the final episodes of the tv series. Build's was actually the smallest one. Drive outright had Ghost in two episodes. Ghost had Genm in two episodes. Ex-Aid had Build appearing once, and then you had Build with just the RideWatch appearing.

A bulky piece of tech that you want to keep secure because it's tied to your transformation and also would want to fiddle with for different forms and moves and stuff is better if it's kept in a location that's secure and where you can do stuff with both arms, and being a belt is convenient since you can wear it with relatively low restrictions on your range of motion. Look at how bulky some of the belts can get and how the belt idea allows suit actors to still do stunt work. Wizard Rings for instance forced the choreography away from closed-fist punches.
Wrist mounted is fine in some cases but has some limitations on variation. when you have multiple transformation items like Build, Geats or OOO, having both arms free makes using it easier.
Like there's no lore reason why it has to be a belt but in terms of ergonomics it makes sense. Very few pieces of transformation gear that I could imagine would be made "more practical" by moving them off the waist.

I think that something like the Swordriver is also somewhat of a risky move because by virtue of the toys needing to be functional it makes it very impractical for show-accurate proportions. Even if you made adult-sized versions, it is not a good angle to get a draw out of the belt.
Probably why henshin items that are weapons have tended to be ones that are smaller. Handguns, daggers, or Ixa's knuckle duster. If they wanted to revisit the "draw a sword" gimmick then it'd be better if the belt go down the hip like an actual sheath does.

Why the Swordriver continues to be a disappointing belt for me, the ideas are good on paper but it was poorly executed. The sword size change, the belt jutting out as a result of doubling as a sheath for said sword and the combos not being used to its potential.

Actually, that would be an interesting idea for a belt, kinda like the Delta belt works by slotting the device onto the side of the belt. Honestly that does sound cool and would be another type of Primary Rider belt that Bandai or Toei could try out. Pretty sure the original Kamen Rider as well as Kuuga and Agito would tap on the side of the belt to henshin. So this theoretical belt would have you insert the trinket into the weapon which you then put onto the sheath on the side of the belt and that would activate lights and sounds on the front of the belt signaling the henshin process. Perhaps the front of the belt could be a faceplate that slides to the side to reveal the inside detail as well. That way you have a belt that does lights and sounds but has a very slim profile and a personal weapon that you can insert trinkets in and still have a way to store it at the same time.

The villain (Terror) just kind of lets Shotaro live for no reason on multiple occasions when there is ample reason to kill him for fucking with his business, the last arc basically has nothing to do with everything the show was building towards, etc.

nta but that's because you're autistic. If the setting, atmosphere, cast and general plot structure is mostly good, most people are going to like the show even if the story itself doesn't progress much. Another factor is the amount of flaws, W just doesn't have any big objective flaws that completely ruin the show unlike Hibiki where the main antagonists randomly decide to help Hibiki for unexplained reasons and then are revealed to be governed by other villains that were never established in the show, that goes beyond being "lovecraftian" since they used their ambiguity for cheap plot convenience, that's not even mentioning how many of the cast got character assassinated in the second half.
There's nothing wrong with hating W obviously but you have to understand that episodic storytelling isn't bad, just different, people can enjoy and hate both depending on the execution.

I guess it depends on if you like the villains, I think they are the biggest problem. They sit on their hands way too much and then they bring in some nobody who also governs the big bad through funding.
For character assassination, yeah Hibiki did it worse but it still happened in W imo. Terui gets sidelined hard in the last section of the show, same with Shotaro until the very end.

In most rider series there is an excuse why the big bad doesn't just fuck up the protag but there isn't really one in W.
The answer is because the show needs him to look threatening but not actually do anything until later.
Also anyone with a brain could realize that Phillip and the villains were connected from day one, kind of like how in wizard if you have a brain you know the connection between two characters immediately.
But in Wizard they actually do something with it on why he is big bad, not so much for the relationship with Phillips family besides they were corrupted or whatever which would be more hard hitting if they actually showed the family doing stuff together more in the past. Phillip barely comments on it for most of the show because of memory shit. And the reconnection stuff doesn't even matter by the end because everyone dies and for no real good reason either.

In general, neither W nor the villains went after each other even though their identities should have been really obvious. Shotaro not doing nothing is explained away later as part of Terror's fear power all along, but it clearly just a patchwork and never noticeable in previous episodes. Terui is tied by the police, but that's weird considering how off-the-book he feels like a lot of the time.

And the show wants to sell the idea W/Shotaro was a secret identity, but there's no way people didn't know Shotaro was W considering how commonly he undid that transformation and even rode on W's bike. It's just a very silly element of W.

Well, the plot and appeal of Shotaro is that he was a normal guy suddenly involved in the middle of the museum's plans rather than being one of the special people that had immunity to Terror's powers or better compatibility with the driver like Skull and Accel. This also doesn't have much impact though when Terui is treated so badly towards the end of W rather than feeling like he could possibly be a serious threat to the Museum or Foundation X.

TLDR is that Banjou had some of Evolt's DNA because it went from his mother to him and Evolt wanted to bring it to it's full potential before reuniting with it for his previous full form and to also gain stuff he never had like human emotions too, as well as an added power bonus for his previous form he couldn't have gotten other wise.

It was the whole reason he kept Banjou alive and why he was doing all he could to raise both his and Sento's Hazard levels.
