>>23353104I agree, but I think it's just because I come from a culture, where dubbing / voice acting has always been viewed as a "lesser" form of acting, so someone's voice has never personally mattered too much to me. However in Japan, voice acting is a very important and a big business, so the same actor will usually voice and be associated with the same character. That's why, for example, the voice of One Piece's Franky being changed was such a big issue, even if Yao was a skeleton and sounded exhausted in his voice work. To quite many, an anime character's voice is basically the same as actors in live-action shows, so changing a VA feels very dramatic.
