Different types of weapons. The smoke and yellow flash is from the railguns, the red with a white outline is from the multi-phase beam cannon, and the green is the standard beam weapons installed in the Dragoon pods and beam rifles.

There were yellow beams? Yellow were either railguns or physical projectiles.

I love how in the remaster they changed the railgun effect to look more like electric discharge.
In the original it was just a yellow beam

Because Fuduka is a legit dumbass that thought a railgun is a beam. Wasnt until Destiny that someone told Fuduka that a railgun was in fact not a beam.

Astray manga had Astray Blue Frame with a physical blade pierce through Phase Shift Armor. Dont expect logic when it comes to Seed and definitely when it's anything from the Astray side.

Femtech armor isn't completely immune to beams. Close ranged weapons like beam sabers, beam boomerangs, anti-ship swords, are able to get through it due to the way they work.

That isn't what happens with Palma Fiocina though. That weapon just has a high enough burst output that it can pierce through, on top of Destiny being able to physically smash its palm INTO the armor before firing. We know there's at least one other beam weapon that Femtech armor is useless against (Disruptor).

>>23363353
Idk about Astray but the shows are pretty consistent. I can only think of one instance of a physical weapon breaking through phase shift for instance, and Fukuda admitted it was a mistake and retconned it.
Anonymous No.23367028 >>23367045 >>23367050
>>23362690
>>23367007
Not exactly. If you look at the Palma Fiocina hand attack carefully, you will notice the Black Knight armor glows orange, turns liquid, and then the armor melts. So the Destiny Palm closer to a heat weapon than a beam weapon. Heat weapons are the 3rd weapon introduced in Seed Freedom. Not even phase shift stops it.
Anonymous No.23367045
>>23367028
That's essentially how pretty much all beam weapons function, we just see it up close and in slow motion there.
Anonymous No.23367050 >>23367060 >>23367094
>>23367028
Actually, CE already had heat weapons. As far as we can tell, they don't actually work against phase shift.

Did the phase shift go down because the battery failed? Or did the phase shift run out of power because of the enormous strain of trying to block such a big heat weapon?
Anonymous No.23367107
>>23367094
Impossible to say. Logically, a heat weapon like that, specifically one that vibrates like that, should force any sort of PS armor to use more energy to counteract it. But the point was just that it didn't break through the armor outright.
Anonymous No.23367133
>>23367094
The latter. The battery is gradually depleted with the continue activation of the phase shift armor. The battery's rate of depletion increases whenever the phase shift armor takes a hit. Eventually battery levels reach a specific threshold and the phase shift armor is forced to turn off while basic functions are still somewhat functional.

It looks like the brunt of the damage was from the arms, which both had Palma Fiocina active before they got destroyed. All that energy might have resulted in a much stronger explosion that not only caused external damage, but would definitely do internal damage too.
