It's a bit sad that in order to be able to sell DLC and use series that have trickier settings, SRW going forward is always going to have some manner of dimensional shenanigans pasted onto the story somewhere.

Even for someone who likes multiverse stuff, it's unfortunate, since there's not much of a better way to do DLC for a regular SRW game, unless you wanted them literally plotless bonus units.

I don't hate this version of the character but he felt closer to someone like Iron Man given how much he was throwing around his money everywhere and felt more like he's already his infinity version despite his age and still fighting Hell at the time. For Kits and merchandise it probably achieved its goals, but I would like to know what Japan really thinks about it. Because I love Aerial, Pharact and Caliburn, but if I had to say what I think of the show I think it betrayed many expectations and satisfied only a narrow niche of yurifags. A show with great potential but which always ends up being talked about about what it could have been and wasn't.

they receive them, historically, when a show is successful enough to justify it and ride the fandom demand.

Why do you think Gundam Wing received a high budget OVA / Movie and G-Gundam and X did not? because Wing was the most popular of the 90s gundams. Gundam Seed was so successful that Destiny (which was not expected) was commissioned precisely because of the huge demand. Gundam 00 was also very successful.
The only anomaly is Age, but it was the time of Unicorn with infinit money and they thought of making a last attempt with the Asumu arc the most popular.

Gundam Build fighter was also reasonably popular to justify various sequels.

Whether you like it or not, the absence of 48 episodes or some final movie, with Gundam is a sign because Gundam is a saga tied to marchandise.

hell, even without bothering a movie or an OVA, I think that 50 episodes divided into 4 seasons would have given the story much more breathing space instead of squeezing it all in S2. Even IBO was granted this, but not G.Witch

Looking at the 90s, only Wing got a sequel/movie out of the AUs.
Then we had Seed/00/Age but nothing happened for IBO or G Witch.

G Gundam did well and did not get a movie.

SEED got a movie 22 years later.

00 and Wing was supposed to get a movie regardless as they complete the story as intended.

Furthermore even if WFM would get a sequel or a movie, it only ended late 2023

We always knew WFM would only be 2 cours, it’s not that IBO was granted something while WFM wasn’t it’s that production wise that’s what was planned for it from the start. Times are different than before where theyll try and make a massive media mix for a particular Gundam entry, the attempt for IBO and AGE crashed and burned I don’t think they’re going to greenlight things asap anymore, but both IBO and WFM did fine and pushed merch

I've no clue honestly, it could just be Fukuda and Sunrise going back and forth and i haven't seen Freedom so it might be this way but last i saw before release the plan was to have multiple evil clones of Kira be the villains
