I think people get distracted by Char's ramblings in CCA about Lalah and forget that it doesn't really matter his hangups with Lalah or any women for that matter. CCA was inevitable because Char himself was a black hole of a man who wanted to just screw up everything in a tantrum for how his life had turned out. Probably the best single line in Gcuck is Challia seeing the future during the kirakira and realizing that Char is just empty on the inside and that will eventually manifest into something terrible. I think Char is primarily associated with Lalah above all the others like if you think about Gundam-san, the Char's Daily Life manga, the Char Toyota ad etc. The reality is that Char's final line before his death is especially going to overshadow everything else. I would say your examples like SRW are all niche and focused on Gundam super fans. The stuff that goes out to a general anime audience or an even wider audience just focuses on OYW stuff so stuff like Amuro, Ramba Ral, Garma, Lalah and Char are all widely known on a different level than Zeta stuff is.
Haman is associated with Char but not the other way around. Char is associated most of all with the drama around the OYW which is why most spinoff content around him focuses on that (so by extension he is associated with Lalah a lot). And the OYW is pretty much the definition of Gundam brand wise in Japan especially among the general audience. That's why a Toyota ad for Gundam has Char and Lalah in it because the OYW sells.
