Some worthy GQuuuuuux Siegaxe lore
Light Guncannon uses Luna Titanium for ease of production. Feddie pilots are generally poorly skilled and rely on sheer numbers. Saw combat at Solomon and Luna II. Can't tell if they were available at Odessa or Jaburo. Maybe only a small sampler? Was the prime UC RGM-79 GM considered to have been formally deployed during the Battle of Jaburo? Seems as tragic as the GM being a cannon fodder with no onscreen kills back in 1979, though Shiiko did pilot one, and unrealised potential like the prime UC Gelgoog due to late deployment.

Aside from the Anno draft scenario book(e.g. Sleggar, Gihren MA doctrine, Pegasus 2 and 3), we haven't had any worthy lore until now. Hopefully we will get more lore in the future unlike the Great Mechanics Seed Freedom book that offered nothing new at all. (No power sources of Rising and Black Knights, just regurgitating Gunpla fluff of Muu's Murasame having limiter removed and ZGok being a private asset rather than national)

Lance houses three railguns and the tip could penerate electromagnetic shields. Not sure how this characterises the Bigzam's I Field, maybe the I Field could block railgun rounds?

Shield fires hide bombs, not missiles.

It makes me wonder if the Federation could still have won the war with Light Cannons if Granada Fleet did not attack Luna II with Bigzams.

Many previous sources did say Federation was exhausted post Abao a qu and were relieved that a treaty was signed. In the 50 episode Tomino memo, Novelisation and The Origin manga, the Federation's fleet at Abao aqu were either defeated or almost annihilated.

Power levels are all over the place with Psycho Gundam being stronger than Kikeroga. Shiiko's Gelgoog being holographic is a nice choice. Seems like the Gelgoogs are only marginally stronger than Doms and Light Cannons.

They named the green Dom as Tokuwan's Dom, probably this was before they cut paste all those green Doms and green Gelgoogs in episode 8 where MQuave was overlooking the Luna II battle from his bridge.

The V-440 cartridge(equivalent to the learning computer?) was used on the Gundam and recognised as superior, therefore Zeonic Corp replicated it into the WG-X22100.
Anonymous No.23369566

WG-X22100 became the most used combat use installer device during the One Year War/Zeon War of Independence due to its versatility and completeness(well made).

After the war, the WG-X22100 device is compatible with almost all MS types regardless of Zeon and Feddie origin.

It makes me wonder think that Zeon replicated this installer device swiftly at the last months of the war, installed it onto all existing MS and thereby improved their performance.

Not sure if Light Cannons have this.

I think that is all the GQX lore we have so far. The Foolypedia page from ep 3, the Gunpla manuals, and director/designer notes from the movie booklets.

Zeon copying the learning computer to all their MS should have been what won them the war. Most databooks credit the Learning Computer as a major reason for the Federation's victory because it was turning brand new MS pilots in GMs into Amuro-lites. The GM wasn't amazing on its own, but Amuro's data could make it deadly against anything Zeon had to field.

Best redesign in the show desu. It's instantly recognisable, it adds a lot of little details, it's creative, and it makes a lot of engineering sense, considering that all three legs are identical units. And the little emergent details like skirt cutouts too. And it moves its connection with the number three from pilots to itself, they even disbanded the Tri-Stars for it.
Shame that it jobs so hard because they decided to bring bazookas that don't work. And that it'll likely stay confined to GQ and never be expanded on elsewhere. It's a perfect evolution of good old Dom design.

I mean, the Gundam can't realistically move with the armor of the original, both arm and leg movement are heavily restricted, which is why the figure has to add more joins/breaks and can't stick to the original animation design.

Although either way, I think the Gquuuuuux redesign was more going for "bizarre/monstrous" looking than actually practical (just consider the four purple eyes on the face).

I like how every MS has a more aggressive face such as the Gundam and Guncannon. This is the first time we've seen a full redesign aside from Gundam Evolve. All renditions of OYW don't help them make them move militaristic if the Gundam and GM still have babyfaces.

I love all the 1979 Okawara Yasuhiko style art, but GQX Yamashita redesigns feels like the first time that tried to deviate from the classic silhouette and faces.

Model kits, video games and Thunderbolts renditions tried to make OYW MS more industrial like, but it doesn't help if they still have their babyfaces.

Earth side MS have always looked babyface with the exception of the Strike Dagger and 105 Dagger.

The most babyfaced GQX MS is the Gelgoog but it also looks monstrous like a skeleton or Zombie.

In the head in the prototype, but upper left chest in the final version. Makes sense, too, because the Federation didn't have the Zeong to crib off of. So no chance at survival for the Doobie.

It still feels weird that she died so suddenly. Now that the series is done and over, it stands out as oddly harsh for GQuuuuuux's tone, sort of like Barara's death back in the original airing of GReco, especially when considering Doobie was way younger and less culpable for her actions than most. Maybe it's just another callback, sort of like it's taking the shit at ZZ for the disposable Ples. On the other hand, GQX is pretty brutal towards its antagonists (mostly because Machu doesn't get a lot of fights to practice her brand of screw-the-rules pacifism on).

Second, is that the psycho gundam seems to have been built with OOParts, like the other Gundams, which leads to questions of where the Feds got the stuff. There are still some lingering questions over how Deux discovered the kira-kira, considering it only seems to kick in when you have newtype shit from the other side to ping off of. Hard to tell if it also applies to GQ verse. There were slightly more Rick Doms than Gelgoogs at the Battle of Luna II.

If Federation pilots did not have enough time to gain combat experience to produce favourable results. The choice to mass produce an armoured Light Cannon may be better than a GM with a totanium shield, as the latter requires more skill and also a Ball for mid range support.

Even if it runs out of ammo, is not totally defenseless at long ranges even if the beam is weaker.

Given the i-Field worked on the projectiles from lances I think the box may have been printed before they settled on just giving it beams.

Otherwise someone had the thought of "Wait if the i-fields of a minovsky craft system can HOLD UP A BATTLESHIP why can't they stop solid projectiles? ...And then didn't apply that to melee attacks.

>>23369493
It is even commented on here that the Guncannon would cost too much for mass production as a heavy MS.

I guess we could either interpret that as luna titanium being used in a different way to make it easier for mass production. It could be a variant like Gundarium Gamma, or simply reducing the armour compared to the original Guncannon.

Yeah that's part of the reason I like it too. To many fan designs just copy the Gqux RX-78 face and slap it on any gundam they want this it fits more because of what you said also the guy who did the design also had a blurb mentioning pilot brainwave feedback so maybe his interpetation of the weird head was something newtype use related too.

They really look like they can stretch really far. I especially like the swivel joint on the red Gundam's head on the HG, it feels like such an obvious feature so the MS can look forward while flying in space.
Yamashita's designs certainly have a more mchanical feel to them with the fuel tanks and the exposed guns and hardpoints. They look more like machines than toys.

Everything looks like a construction bot rather than military. The exposed hip joints come to mind. That's fine for civilian but the military probably would add something like skirt armor to protect such a weakness.
Anonymous No.23388883
>>23388808
I actually like that it has no skirt armor. They were always badly designed in that they're one big plate purely on a hinge joint and if you've tried to move the legs of a gunpla too far you know it just pops right off. In universe, you'd have a massive metal plate being moved just by friction and gravity and it would be clanking against the leg every time it moves. If they put a motor just to move the skirt plates that'd be a ton of extra weight . The gundam would damage itself just by walking.
The small yellow plates just covering the joints being connected to the upper thigh itself seems much less restrictive and you'd have to shoot around a corner to hit the joint itself anyway.
Plus I think the idea of not having many weak points is kinda antithetical to concept of a giant humanoid mecha in the first place so just explain it away with saving weight to have a more nimble mobile suit that cant be hit easily. It just needs to be sturdy enough to not be damaged by infantry and smaller caliber arms. No matter how much your armor it, being hit by a beam weapon is an instant kill.

Anonymous No.23442220
>>23434941
The word "mav" is a slang term used mainly among young people in the Showa era, and is an abbreviation of " mabudachi ," which means "true friend." "Mabu" is a more casual and vulgar word than "mabudachi," and carries the meaning of genuine, irreplaceable friends who are bound by a deeper bond of trust. It is a word used when you want to express an even more intimate and special relationship, emphasizing the depth of friendship and the strength of the bond, and expressing special feelings and relationships.

It is strictly friendship and does not include romantic relationships such as romantic or marital relationships.
