I was really upset when we didn’t get green wrestling tiger Kamen rider and it’s taken me a while to come around to the idea of zeztz being another grasshopper..

This is my first time watching a rider series as it airs despite being into the franchise since drive was airing
My life has just always gotten in the way from enjoying the weekly experience even though I’ve always kept up with everything as the years go by
The hype at the beginning of this season was unreal and while I enjoyed Gavv for the most part I can’t help but feel like I don’t really care where it ends up. There’s nothing really to look forward to and the story has kind of gone nowhere. I like the characters and the suits and the action direction especially but right now, all I care about is Zeztz and what’s to come for next year. Is this how it feels every year? This was a really meh 2-parter. The mind control storyline was lame, hypnotized Hanto was silly even in serious scenes and at this point I can say that despite being the show's most interesting villain, Suga was thoroughly wasted, we didn't even get more info on his mysterious backstory. About the only positive things I can say are that Lakia using his toxin was a smart move and that they at least moved the uncle storyline forward.

Also I wonder if Suga's secret command for Shouma's uncle will have a payoff at all since the victims were all seemingly cured at the end of the episode.

Kami is one of the best directors out there, I get that people are tired of Takahashi but he isn't as bad of a writer as people make it out to be, while I'm also tired of his tropes and how he shafts the secondaries most of the problems from Zero-One and Geats were the producer's fault.

The problem is nothing about this show is what kamen rider usually is. Outside of Saber and the DGP scenes in Geats, Kamen Rider does not use led screens that much. They don't go to wacky dream worlds, nor do they work for secret government organizations for the most part. More importantly, they do not wear their belts like that. Outside of the bike and grasshopper motif, this the LEAST Kamen Rider entry in all of Reiwa since Saber. So people are gonna have a very weird opinion of the franchise once they realize almost none of it is the same as Zeztz.
This would work way better as a soft reboot of the franchise like Zero-One was in the level of weirdness that it is.

The whole mess that was the Jamato's game and Buffa's victory there - they show the Jamato resurrecting only for them to be almost extinct the next arc, and aside from Keiwa's and Geats' basically all deaths there are ignored. So, it wasn't supposed to be an Jamato victory and the scene with the resurrected Jamato was a mistake? Keiwa's villain turn was really badly done, with him siding with the people who just killed his family and betrayed him. It's clear the "message" the show wanted to sell is that it was Keiwa's own fault... but he was clearly deliberately sabotaged by the DGP the way the events flowed.

It has a really interesting use of color, where even though it has so much cyan and yellow it uses the purple in just the right way that it is clearly the main color (unlike for instance Revi who apparently was supposed to be a "blue Rider" but the way the colors were used makes pink look more like the main color)

I don't think Geats' motif was all that obvious until enough of the buckles were revealed. I also remember some people trying to make sense of Best Matches until the series itself tried to explain where Best Matches came from and outright said most of them have zero reason behind them.
Though with the theme being dreams, it at least has an excuse for the transformations being "random bullshit."
