>>23367096>played a little bit of the backer demo for tactics. It seems better than I expected but the bar was pretty low. Didn't feel super jank or anything like mikhail did. Some of the issues were stuff they already noted in the download email so I didn't take them into consideration when taking a look. 1st level was a tutorial with a couple grapplers, 2nd was against a handful of TSFs. Didn't try the third stage yet. There's terrain variants that affects movement and what units can move through. Every unit took a bit to down so I'm not sure if it'll have the feel of taking on a BETA horde. I failed the second stage once, I guess the strat is to focus fire because I didn't really see many other ways to efficiently take out units without eventually being overwhelmed. Seems like it will be passable. I'm more concerned about the story that anything. Please share anything else that might occur to you, legit curious about how Tactics is turning out since it might be the last non-gacha Muv-Luv game to ever be made

Simone attended an Avex shareholder's meeting and let rip on the failed state of Muv Luv, and told them to either ice it or sell it.
>>23371217the real interesting thing about this is that Avex actually went "yeah we might sell Anchor"
>>23371217Its interesting that an investor used such emotional, personal language. They seem to be very in touch with public perception which is surprising.
Compare that with a recent capcom shareholder call. They had to explain to an investor that video games actually had to be made and couldn't just be "released" at will.
>>23371217I don't want it to be remembered
>>23371217But Simone, they're making another gacha! The charts say this will theoretically make more money at lower investments than a visual novel.

If they do sell the Muv Luv IP, I hope it goes into the hands of someone who knows what the fuck they're doing with it. Anything but Avex using it to shill gacha games that die after a year or two.
>>23371713I think it's the same Muv Luv fan who brought shares in Avex, enough so they could be present on board meetings. Whoever this nameless Japanese fan is, I fucking salute them for speaking truth to power.
>>23371967anon, i hope that FromSoftware will buy the IP, and will develop 2 or a trilogy of games like Armored Core.
But jokes aside, who could buy it, and do something fruitful? Kadokawa? Harmony Gold?
>>23372008fromsoft storytelling is abysmal dogshit
>>23372008A crossover with Armored Core would make sense, but FromSoft wouldn't benefit from it much so I doubt they'd ever do it
Are the Total Eclipse and Schwarzesmarken VNs good, or do they work better as LNs? Or are they shit in both forms?
>>23371967People have literally grew up into high positions and are still backing this game.
There's like JSDF commanders that regularly chip in on the design and tactics.
Every on the localization side the team that did work on the ML VNs is over 10 years old.
That's a lot of old men still supporting this sinking ship.
>>23370924Shirogane get the hell off of 4chan, this is no place for you

>>23366420>Soviet-kun, you came back! (or the gulag got wi-fi)Russian-kun, please - I don't like the USSR. And one more thing - the GULAG was closed in 1959.
>Stalin was the "greatest" warlord of the 20th centuryActually, no. Neither during the Civil War nor during the Great Patriotic War did this Dzhugashvili show any outstanding abilities as a military leader - Stalin was good as an apparatchik in appointing the right people to the right leadership posts to get results. In Russia, there is an opinion that the USSR won the Second World War not thanks to, but in spite of Vissarionovich.
Specifically, in the ML conditions, the idea of warlords on the polar islands is stillborn from the start and you have to be a dumb Kouki not to understand this. There are no conditions for agriculture on the islands and there are no easily accessible mineral resources, and in the conditions of the freezing sea, they become accessible to BETA attacks. There is no population there either. Local commanders are COMPLETELY dependent on the continental USSR for food, fuel and personnel. In addition, these islands should be under the close attention of the Central Government since they allow the Soviets to claims to the Arctic and Siberia.
As a result, simply due to the very situation on the Northern Islands of Russia, there is not even the slightest possibility for "warlordism".
>maybe the USSR would collapse faster than IRL,But it does exist in ML in 2001 and even began to return its territories in 2005. In addition, the USSR has achieved simply fantastic progress in biotechnology with cloning and genetic engineering and can create quite powerful TSFs.
In short, the Soviet Union MUST be a fairly effective system in ML otherwise it should have been destroyed by BETA long ago. The detachments of national minorities shown in TE which should not exist due to the history of BETA conquests, are completely unsuitable for "effective" military policy.
>>23372085Read and find out
>No? alt 3 gave enough info that BETA DID NOT GAVE A SINGLE FUCK about humanity,
Officially, Alt 4 was actually creating a "living computer", so to speak, to communicate with BETA. Well, yes, it's stupid, but Kozuki somehow dragged this project through on bare theory. It's funny that she managed to make a telepathic robot, which also turned out to be an ideal computer for controlling Susanoo's gravitational fields... And by the way, it's a very big plot hole that none of the Soviets are represented in the Alternative to look after Kasumi and work with Kozuki, because for Sumika they used the achievements of the Russian Alt 3.
>Alt V at first was very "rational"
There were a lot of controversial issues there - after all, this is, in theory, the largest joint project of humanity... Even the development of a pan-European fighter/TSF is a real clown show. Disputes about the distribution of production and control over the project, the proportion of refugees and so on - it's strange that the evacuation fleet project was completed at all.
>inb4 this is in The Day After, Kouki didn't wrote it ... He got the brilliant idea to make it "canon"
He seemed to be just whining about not liking to write about characters created by other authors, no? Can you elaborate on this point?
>wait, so that +700 number, is not from the Scarlet Twins, am i wrong?
Maybe another episode? It was just a very memorable moment after the Kamchatka arc - Sandek reported the results of the Scarlet Twins at a briefing for the participants of the operation with a railgun and the participants of Argos were shocked, and Tarissa had a fit and she yelled at Sandek, saying, "This is an impossible level of efficiency! Red liars!" and she was sent to the archives of the battle recording. There, the ratio of numbers between the railgun and the Su-35 was quite close and rise to the question "Why the hell do we need a super-complex and incomprehensible railgun if one (esper) Su-35 can do only slightly worse?"
>>23371967>An autocorrect fuckup of 'someone'From now own we should call this anonymous shareholder fan 'Simone'

muvluv garden is just blue archive isn't it
I've finished KimiNozu NEXT and I'm really disappointed after how the original anime went. Haruka is supposed to get her route animated but it spends 1 episode on the whore, another on Akane, and halfassedly wraps it up in episode 4. Haruka deserved better. But after watching the series and Akane Maniax it's clear that the creators of the series loved Akane who had a massive presence in both seasons.
Next goal is finishing a play through of Muv Luv and seeing where this takes me. I've really enjoyed the overall franchise so far in terms of anime. I just wish Takeru's lines were voiced to make it easier to read in Japanese.
>>23373629Akane is amazing and you have a skewed view of the characters from Kiminozo because you didn't read the VN, especially Mitsuki.
>>23372809"No man, no problem" - sort of like Stalin. When a man did not live up to his expectations, it was bad for the man. However, his marshals defeated Hitler, his bloody secret service held the Union together, his appointee Beria successfully headed several key projects, including the nuclear bomb, etc. Stalin is like Thanos - he gets what he wants, but at what cost.
Unlike the French, the Russians did not surrender after losses and did not lose their statehood - that is, the Stalinist system passed the test of war.
Lend-lease began to arrive in sufficient and significant quantities only after the Battle of Stalingrad, when the Soviet Union had already achieved a turning point in the war.
The UN is in charge of the Union? You made me laugh. Once again, the GULAG ceased to operate in 1959 and before that it worked for the economy (roughly like the prison labor system in the USA, adjusted for mortality), and there is nothing on the polar islands - who would keep prisoners there for no reason?
Slogans and deeds are very different things, Anonchik. Even IRL the Soviets changed the "interpretation" of their doctrine several times (+ IRL China as an example of a radical reform of socialism), so in principle nothing interferes with reforms, if only there was an urgent need and a sensible leader with assistants. Since the Soviet Union survived and began to return to its former glory by 2005, then, I repeat, it MUST be a fairly effective state and military system. Fighting serfs and a tiny number of ethnic minorities are not an "effective" element.
>>23372865>we got this conversation before.Yeah, and let me remind you that my thesis is that the efficiency of Su Series control by esper pilots is due to the design of the TSF itself, which means that esper-Su groups are capable of giving the BETA a real bloodbath. The production technology has already been debugged.
And no, espers are quite reliable in combat - problems in TE began when using something extremely specific, like "deep combat trance" or "psionic halo". Under normal conditions, the "Esper Su" easily destroys both BETA hordes and TSF squadrons.
The railgun is a one-off prototype in the Alternative, and, if you believe the rumors, it needs G-Elements.
>>23372865>In Unlimited , its not specified how humanity loses Earth. TDA instead, open that can of worms. What about canonicity in the end?

>>23372591They probably used the same sound effect pack. I've heard the same stuff elsewhere.
>>23377171they did for sure, but they did so specifically BECAUSE of blue gender. Kouki would literally point to specific BG scenes during development to indicate how shit should be directed
>>23377185I said it the other thread but Muv-Luv is literally Love Hina x Blue Gender. These two were even popular back when age was just starting with VNs and Muv-Luv was supposed to come out right after KimiNozu in 2001 but got postponed to 2002, and then to 2003, and Alternative was supposed to be in the same game but that also got postponed 3 years.
As for KimiNozo... Macross is a great influence, Hayase is even named after Hayase. I think Jetman also.

I also think with the growth Takeru went through in Unlimited, Miki fits him the best.
>>23374816>the XG-70d Susanoo had 8 railguns, so that is incorrect. And now the rather murky retcon crap begins.
First, if the technology was really mastered by the Yankees, then why didn't they implement them en masse into their armed forces? Just imagine a Raptor with a railgun...
Second, if the technology was successfully created, then why did the Japanese suffer with their electromagnetic weapon and make deals with the UN for the sake of G-elements, instead of buying a license from the USA?
Third, these railguns were installed on the XG, on which nothing worked properly without Sumika - so were these railguns working?
Fourth, if railguns have already been created and are working in the first year of 2001, then why does no one really remember or discuss them? Michiru in her lecture paid more attention to beam guns as a promising weapon, for example...

Hereโs everything thatโs been announced since the October 2019 รขge 20th Anniversary โStill Breathingโ event and its current status:
>Project Mikhail โ multiplayer mech action game for PC and (canceled) Switch โ released on Steam as early access, converted to single-player campaign and ultimately abandoned.

>Muv-Luv for Mobile โ original trilogy VNs for iOS and Android โ publicly beta-tested in early 2022 but ultimately never released, despite the Android version being the final unfulfilled backer reward from the 2015 Kickstarter.
>Muv-Luv Tactics โ new tactical RPG in Alternative-like timeline โ crowdfunding campaign in late 2024 raised about 60% of goal. Expected to release in first half of 2025.

Second, if the technology was successfully created, then why did the Japanese suffer with their electromagnetic weapon and make deals with the UN for the sake of G-elements, instead of buying a license from the USA?
1-the UN was a "glue" or contact for the shady bussines. it sounds less politically contrived that the UN (a more "neutral" entity") giving "assistance", instead from USA directly.
2-after 1975, all of the fancy stuff was severely cut or cancelled.
Yuuko dealing with the XM3 for the Fortress robutts ("junk"), for the shinny new "OS" in 2001, sounds like a bargain, huh...
>Third, these railguns were installed on the XG, on which nothing worked properly without Sumika - so were these railguns working?the only crap that was NOT working was the Morlock-Lechte engine.
Aside from the experimental trash ; The USA we see in BETAverse, the "Pax Americana" we know IRL, probably went out of the window after the First Moon War, and the "Kashghar Landing", they just shrugged that was "Commie problems? not my problem".
The "Multi-polar" that the BRICS tries to do today, Kouki implemented it in MLA, what a visionary!
>Fourth, if railguns have already been created and are working in the first year of 2001, then why does no one really remember or discuss them?were most of the military "need-to-know" basis? your own Michiru said that too, and she barely scratched the surface of important stuff.

However due to the technology being incomplete (probably cause the prototype was eaten), and the fact that Operation Ouka was fast tracked much earlier before the BETA could act on the information extracted from the Yokohama Hive core, the XG-70d was rushed into operation without majority of the higher spec armaments, and only had CWIS and VLRS systems and the main cannon.

I just won the first 2 books for the Muv-Luv TRPG. Looks like someone already did the work for the starter book's translation. Anyone else have these or the follow ons? There are 3 more books from what I can find.

I've been playing a lot of Helldivers lately and every time I play a Terminid mission I think of how in a different timeline, a Muv-Luv game could've been this good. Does anyone think about this?
>>23385228Earth Defense Force 5 to 6 are the closest thing to a ML Alternative game there is, even if they are batshit insane games to play (and ridiculously fun, especially with friends). For me, going through both campaigns with my bro filled that void somewhat.
>>23385228I'm always impressed by how Kouki must have like 2.5k hours on Warframe yet is somehow unable to point to his screen while telling someone at Avex to just make a reskin of that with Mechs
>>23385228Every single wave based, objective based game like that, there's always a thought "what if there was a muv-luv mech game like that". Even that indie game Gearbit brings that up.

Tororo ranting about how girls garden will not be a depressing game like Alternative in order to attract the most amount of people
game director saying that to him muv-luv was completed with Alternative so there would be no point in trying to approach it from the same angle again
>>23387047That's like the first piece of good news yet. We have fucking three Gacha all trying to replay the Alternative Greatest Hits.
Tashiro Hayato saying he hopes the game will run for 10 years
(lmao)
vtubers are truly frightening creatures
the mechs are called MGs, not TSFs.

I knew it was going to be a cash grab only using the franchise name to prop it up, but good god.
story is about a school training people to challenge an underground hell dimension

it is all live2d? looked more like DRPG
>>23387057>>23387060>>23387068This seems like a generic waifu gatcha wearing the death skin of Muv-Luv as a disguise
>>23381958>The Yankees have a different doctrine and they could if they wanted>>23382998>The technology was not completedIn general, we can end here. The problem with ML, in general, is precisely in its inconsistency, which gives rise to a bunch of contradictions.
Mechs were created in the 70s, but they were unable to master any advanced weapons until the 00s... Railguns either do not work, or work only with the help of miraculous G-elements, and a working (?) beam supergun was shoved onto a non-working prototype of a flying fortress instead of a battleship.
And so on and so forth.
>>23387091Well, it's clear that Muv-Luv is no longer raking in the big bucks. Kouki is out, this is the new Muv-Luv.
>>23387091If they're smart all this blue archive clone shit is actually setup for their own version of the extra -> unlimited/alternative tonal shift, but for a new audience (fifth time will work out for sure)
the main character knows what TSFs are so multiverse/simulation shit is already confirmed
>>23387088>>23387068>>23387067So, combat robots versus Pokemon?
Honestly, I was still hoping that they would show us the fate of the Exodus Fleet - like in Knights of Sidonia - UN space corps cadet pilots clearing a star system colonized by humanity from local BETA or local aggressive monsters...
But schoolgirls raiding "Hell" with non-aggressive pink animals...WTF?
>>23387096Explain further, I don't speak moon so I've got no idea what's going on here
>>23387098Yeah I have no idea what the connection here is to Muv-Luv
>>23387067Wait a minute, they thought of putting missile launchers on the back pylons instead of shoulder pads?!
The mecha designer of this project is a fucking GENIUS!!!
By the way, it's interesting that 2 models in this picture refer to the Japanese Fubuki in their design, and another one is clearly a European model.
And yes, it seems like the yellow one has something like a railgun or a ray gun in her hands?
>>23387099>Explain further, I don't speak moon so I've got no idea what's going on hereThe game is set in an edgeless ultra happy world that's supposed to be nothing like Alternative, there are no BETA and the mechs are called MGs instead of TSFs, yet the main character with Amnesia calls them TSFs after waking up naked, indicating he shifted worlds somehow
all I'm saying is that if the game doesn't instantly die they could switch over to whatever worldline he is from like 2 years into the game and go full edgy again, in an attempt to go viral or whatever.
>>23387101>waking up in isekaithis really feel like BA-Clone. I'm surprised more didn't try to do this

Animated PV.
So is Muv Luv saved by going the Alternative Universe route just as Gundam did?
Seems like a pretty blatant retooling of that VN they will never make innit. Actually I will give them credit that this is at least less (LESS) creatively bankrupt than the concept boards of BATERS IN TOKYO OH NOES but I mean the magic rocks and funky monsters connected to gravity anomalies is not subtle.
Of course it won't survive long enough for any of that to matter anyways.
>>23387106Because of what this implies by omission, the only giant robots you can credit Wataru Inada for are Type Lancel from ACfA, Gundam Pharact, Zowort, and a few Frame Arms. Otherwise he's just one of those bitch grunts that designs background stuff to fill out the world. Even for Girls Garden he's only credited as "mechanic redesign", since everything they've shown is just a Fubuki or MiG-29 with shit glued to it.
>>23386367So it turns out after doing some searching the creator sells them in PDF form on his booth page. I bought all of them. I don't read moon runes much past kana so I can only attempt with AI to translate. I'll share them eventually just need a good way to do it.

From the interesting: this RPG copied the info about Chinese and Soviet TSF from TE, but at the same time contains materials about the mess in Southeast Asia and, perhaps, Tactics got its inspiration from here. The main focus is on characters from Japan (guards and army), Both Germanys, the UN and Southeast Asia. (The uniform is good)
There is also a decent amount of information about TSF and their actions in battle, but I haven't really read it yet, so I won't comment.

I just finished playing total eclitpse ( havent played the prequel yet but I will soon after I finish downloading it ) and I really liked it, it's a different kind of atmosphere compared to previous games because it focused more on politics but I dont think theres anything wrong with that, the only downside that comes to mind is that I think they couldve showed us more in certain scenes like in yuuya and yui's las scene I wanted to see what they talked about instead of just the couple of senteces we got, same stuff with the happened to the rest of crew, in this particular case, maybe short epilogue wouldve been more than enough, but nope, the same thinking applies to other parts of the novel in which they just hint that something is happening but they dont show us more than that and I found that a bit annoying, dunno if we get more answer in other games or media if so please tell mere but yeah that was only thing that I didnt like about TE, as for the girls even since I watched the anime I was a cryskafag and the vn only reinforced my olev for her but man they also did a great job with yui, in fact I would say that most of the girls top tier

>>23402145>Incest is wrong
>>23401854>...I am no military historian...In general, we can finish here without even starting, but I will simply list the facts:
- until the middle of the 19th century, there were no serious conflicts between Russia and Japan, and the process of territorial demarcation was completed without wars through diplomacy
- after the "opening" of Japan by Commodore Matthew Perry's squadron, Russian envoys concluded treaties with the Japanese on the general principles of that time
- after the Sino-Japanese War, a coalition of Western powers, including Russia, deprived the Japanese of a significant part of their acquisitions through diplomatic pressure
- from 1900 to 1904, relations between Japan and Russia deteriorated due to a clash of interests between the parties in Korea and Manchuria
- 1904-05 Japan attacked without an official declaration of war, but at the end of the Russo-Japanese War, a crisis occurred in Japan due to the fact that, in the public opinion, Japan had received too little
- oddly enough, but by the First World War, relations between the countries were quite friendly, and after almost allied
- but after the October Revolution and the beginning of the Civil War in Russia, the Japanese, as part of the interventionist troops, tried to occupy the Russian Far East without prior arrangement (having spoiled relations with the United States)
- the 1930s were marked by Soviet-Japanese disputes over the extraction of raw materials and resources by the Japanese in concessions on the territories of the Union, plus the railway issue
- from 1940 to 1945, Japan initiated local conflicts with the Soviet Union in Manchukuo and Mongolia several times, and in the process also became an ally of the Nazis, and then the Second World War
1/2
>>23401854>>23402741- after the defeat of the Japanese Kwantung Army by Soviet troops and the dropping of atomic bombs by the United States, the Japanese capitulated and came under the direct control of the United States (Okinawa was not even returned to Japan until the 1970s) and became Washington's stronghold against the USSR in the Far East
The conclusion from the above is that it was Japan that posed the threat, and Captain Abe is either just an ignorant guy or is engaged in historical revisionism.
