I’m like, halfway(?) through my first watch of all the Gundams, have seen 0079, Zeta, ZZ, Unicorn, G, and am halfway through IBO. It’s kind of a toss up what I’ll watch next, SEED and 00 both look kinda ass and I remember thinking Wing kind of sucked when I saw it as a kid. Is X any good? I have been on /m/ for like a month and I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned more than once.

Started watching Blue Gender. It's a Ryosuke Takahashi show, and I liked his work in Dougram so I'm giving it a look. I legitimately love the opening song in both japanese and english.

I am on UC spree. I watched HF and completed the novels to prepare for the 2nd film. Finished 08th MS yesterday, next on the list are Crossbone, Unicorn, Narrative and Sentinel.

There has been a bunch of shitposting somewhat recently around X so people are probably avoiding discussion a bit, plus it was historically one of the less accessible entries in the west so not as many people have watched it.
Personally, I think X is solid but not particularly impressive. It has some good characters and ideas, but a lot of the character and mecha designs are a bit of a step down from G and Wing although there are a few good standouts.

I got obsessed with Brain Powerd for the last 3 months, and I think the last mecha show I watched was Blue Submarine No. 6 or Dangaioh. Dangaion was amazing and Blue Sub was really interesting. I just best Super Robot Wars J too.

I just started Eureka 7 and am loving it already at only 3 episodes in. I can't believe I never saw this when it was on. I was going to watch more nonGundam Tomino too like Ideon or Dunbine but I wanted something uplifting and more lighthearted.

After GQuuuuuux I was thinking of revisiting UC through the compilation movies since I never actually saw them, and Turn A and Greco movies but I haven't gotten around to starting it yet.

Next I'm thinking Macross 7, the Tomino stuff I mentioned, and I was thinking of Neo Ranga but I'm not sure what the tone is or if if gets too fucked up or not. If anyone knows please let me know.

Gundam 00 is easily one of the better Gundam shows.
X is a bit slow in the beginning, but also good. Ends strong, has good characters and development.

if you've watched stuff like IBO and ZZ, there is no reason to avoid 00 and X.

I needed this because I watched a bunch of really bad anime lately (Angel Links anyone?) and I wanted to see some of my favorites again to recover. All I have to say is that the 70s series is far, far better than even 2199. I also remember quite a bit more about Da Garn than I thought I did.

I rewatched this recently alongside a friend who saw it for the first time.
Season 1 - Pretty solid entry
Season 2 - A bit off the rails, but upon rewatch I feel like this fits since Aeolia's plan is off the rails. Still wish they didn't focus on Saji.
Movie - Dumb, but interesting in the sense of the sci-fi tech level of Earth having to deal with this sort of threat. Usually Earth is either more advanced, or near future tech.

A little too high on the praise for 00 in here. First season is really good, but season two nosedives and it's capped off with a relatively competent but ultimately really stupid epilogue movie. Although I will say its probably one of the better AU series just because it does feel like a complete narrative, however questionable its overall quality ended up being.

Well, there's Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse but there is only one ep out with it and it seems to be more about MC being a demon working alongside a mech at the moment.

Caught up to UC anime, and holy shit are the villains of F91 and Victory comically evil. Any attempt to even remotely do the "both sides are bad" falls apart when the federation is barely fuctioning and Cosmo Babylonia/ Zanscare are full on mass ethnic cleansing.

FPA's problem is it's hard carried by Yang "mother fuckin' semicircles" Wenli, no one else is particularly memorable besides based President Man Mr Job. The Kaiserreich has Reinhardt, best boy Oberstein, Bittenfield, Mittermeyer and more that are all way cooler and more memorable as charactersm

Compare it to AGE, G no Reconguista, Iron Blooded Orphans, Witch of Mercury, GQuX.

I've already seen MP thanks to 30 and it was a fun ride but while my opinion of the fail five has gone up my opinion of the wulgaru has gone down. Only one I remember liking from that side was the Prince and his sister (and she was with the earthlings). MvGGoD is a fun movie but I'm not gonna enjoy it as much in Y since it lack the Mazinkaiser OVA to go with it, unlike in something like W where both where there. G Gundam is still my favorite Gundam AU, G-Witch was okay at least to me, only happy SEED Destiny is here because I get to use Kira again, plus it means Freedom is coming in the next game or near future, and GW EZ is a movie. The biggest L of the Gundam part is getting the base UC package of Zeta and CCA and not the deluxe package with ZZ in it. I'm not too much of a Code Geass fan, that's more of my brother's thing but I liked the movies. Aura Battler Dunine is good but it's OVA needed more eps to make me care about what was going on. Getter Arc was a fun ride but needed a real ending and better animation. Combattler V is great if you like long form old school anime, same can be said for Raideen, even if I haven't seen the whole thing, SSSS. Dynazenon was short but enjoyable ride since I liked the MC group and their villains to some degree, and finally, I think Godzilla SP is boring till the last few eps.

35 eps into King-Ohger, did Toei have so little faith in this that they really needed Kyoryuger as an upgrade? It feels like they found out serialization doesn't work for four cour toku series so they're padding it out with filler. Latest episode didn't even have a proper action scene.

This is my biggest problem with King-Ohger. While having an extremely great story, it skimps out on action scenes and even then the action scenes are problematic in that they are too reliant on slow mos.

I've been watching Eureka Seven and I'm loving it a lot. It's just got such fucking nice colors that remind me of the era and just Summer in general and it's all so full of life. I love the characters and setting and music. It seems to just be getting better every episode. I'm at the episode 8 or so when they reveal what Gekkostate's origin was and damn.
