Which AU would make for the best Gihren's Greed game?

I'm gonna go with the Cosmic Era. I think there is a game like that too.

Definitely CE, with AG in a distant second place.
I feel as if most of the others are too focused on singular superhero Gundams and small groups duking it out.

Azrael's Wrath would be an awesome GG type of game.

AG also would be great, especially if you can affect everything over those 100 years.

Most don't have enough material. Seed does. Especially if you count Astray. There is a ton to play with there.
00 does. It has a few manga with tons of units. Even not counting the mangas, 00 has enough politics and sides for it to be very interesting. Joining one of the 3 powers and not agreeing to teaming up with everyone else.
Wing has an interesting political landscape but it lacks characters. It's way too focused on a few characters and all the random politicians are too bland to be focused on. You'd need to mangas and novels to flesh it out. It also lacks units. You'd need to make tons of variants especially since everyone uses the same units early on. You'd be using a Leo and fighting against Leos for a ton of it. I've always wanted a Wing game where you play as a grunt for OZ or the Alliance. During missions, a random Gundam would have a small chance to attack, sometimes more than one. They'd be nigh unbeatable and your objective would be to either escape or just force them back. But you'd have a small chance of damaging them and then you could customize your unit with Gundam parts. Like if you made Shenlong drop its glaive you could take it for your unit or send it back to HQ and they'd mass produce the weapon for everyone.
AGE should be interesting but despite focusing on a 100 year war I feel like we barely know the setting.
IBO could be cool. Especially if you use it to reveal some of the Gundam frames we haven't seen.

I feel like SEED and Post Disaster have fucked up enough settings that you could actually make a postwar/peacekeeping campaign as a bonus hard mode.

Not much content, but AW might be fun. We don't know much about what happened during the 7th Space War but it'll be fun building a bunch of Daughtresses to fight Jenices. Then you have a big setting change after the colony drops.

I feel like with how limited some of them are, you could just as easily make an all AUs in one game.

Cosmic Era has the most fun what-ifs

Comic Era by default because you need a lot of history and supplemental media to make all the various scenarios play out.

What "What-if's" would you all want to see from a Cosmic Era styled Gihrens Greed?

Use Correct Century with an original story. Then you can use mobile suits, armors, and ships from all of these. Or just use canonical CC and you can mix mobile suits with 1800s technology which mite b fun

Stipulation added there since I'm sure they would make the conditions be difficult for the 1st run so it can at least be a flag for the second to be feasible. At that point it might be a bit moot but something to carry that thought out for once

Although Anno Domini's Celestial Being faction would be difficult to implement properly since they're basically a tactical organization, not a strategic one.

Its game introduces extra machines - mostly gorillion Gundams' variants. Take all the other side material, and it's definitely enough for a Gihren's Greed game.

Nah, Ad Stella simply doesn't work, because all the major factions in space and Earth are mostly unknown, although we've given many times some comments about how each Lagrange point has its own sovereign or autonomous government, and that Earth has about ten big blocks competing with each other. And no, Benerit Group's not a major faction, it's just a corporation. Its "military" is pretty much just security protecting assets, and lorewise it only holds considerable influence in Lagrange 4. If anything it probably has less power than Anaheim does in its own setting, and would only serve a role as a weapons' supplier to other factions if it was in Gihren's Greed.

I could actually see AW being folded as a bonus to an actual Gihren's Greed since it was always just "what if UC but more fucked up". Like you could have an extra scenario where Gihren drops so many colonies the Federation in desperation starts mass producing actual Gundams.

The Mu Coup. A CE analog to Day of Dakar, that leads to him launching a bloody coup in the Atlantic Federation. He gets injured during the uprising and ends up wearing a Neo Roanoke type mask when he becomes President.

What if Kira took Athrun up on his offer and joined the PLANTs? Like, I imagine he'd send the Strike back to the Archangel one way or another (perhaps even with a modded Natural-use O.S.) so things aren't a total wash for the crew.

For Ghiren Greed's type of games, should I assume saving a good chunk of your units and possibly recruit more people into your ranks be worth over just a single pilot? (I am assuming Rau is executed for treason in this scenario if Patrick finds out Rau is responsible for leaking info on Spitbreak, halted it in time, and just snowballs from there)

Most of the major characters will end up joining you anyway, some of them just show up later than they might otherwise, like the Shangri-La crew. The only major one I can think of is the Blue Destiny events for Zeon, where you have to choose between getting the blueprints for the Efreet Kai and Nimbus' BD-2 or being able to use Marion as a pilot.

For shits and giggles, have a section where Aeolia has the chance to spike the world's water supply with GN Particles. Doing the normal amount leads to regular 00, none at all makes smaller breasts, and doing more makes them bigger. This choice affects nothing except how big all the women's tits are.
