As ridiculously advanced the VF-1 might be in comparison to robots from other franchises, its main weapon is quite pitiful.
Any laser/beam cannon is an order of magnitude more destructive than what's basically an Equalizer cannon that's been upgraded with alien tech.

A VF-1's head laser is more powerful than RX-78's beam rifle. The gunpod does more damage than a head laser.

You can saturate a camera, the real question is how to make this LAST when a camera has no remanence effect.
And the answer is minovsky particles, always, those fucking particle somehow keep the light saturating the camera in, or some shit.
If magic particle can create slow moving energy beam, it can keep a flash going in a given direction.

im not actually have a problem with its caliber, its 55mm, it pretty much shreds everything.

the problem I have with the Valkyrie gunpods that it has a 200 rounds capacity. that shit is like 6 seconds of continous firing and its completely spent. how the fuck in animations the VFs can continously fire these gunpods more than 6 seconds and not completely spend all their ammo?

I believe this is just Bamco's new logo entirely that has the black background, but the only ones I've played with the new logo are all From Soft games. Either way I miss the old orange logo, it was charming dammit. At least I can see when I boot up Ace Combat 7.

VF-1's gunpod can not be reloaded on the field. It needs to be brought back to base for a reload.

TL;DR the alien tech makes the gunpods capable of firing rounds at almost railgun-like velocity so lower estimates for the 55mm gunpod round put it at maybe 24 times the amount of energy as the real life 30mm round from the A-10' gatling cannon

for comparison an M1 tank gun M829 sabot round is around 13 megajoules of energy, compared to the theoretical 4.8 megajoules for each 55mm gunpod round
