maybe s instead of ex-s. it's already questionable wether or not s gundam would survive the animation quality of a tv anime (it'd probably need to be more simplified like picrel) but ex-s would have an exponentially worse fairing

There's only one EX-S gundam in the story and it's always been depicted as the one with the blue colors and red feet. The ones with the blue colors and blue feet and the one with red colors is just Katoki's designer colors for the FIX figuration line. One for the S/EX-S gundam release and one for the S/EX-S/Deep Striker release.

have you seen the banshee from gundam unicorn? the banshee has a beam smart gun
essentially, the gun can change the angle of the beam without being moved. combined with a continuous beam you can basically do "sweeping" beam attacks like picrel

Worth noting that while there's only one in the story we know there's three confirmed S Gundam units, though nothing has been revealed about the other two such as where and when they were deployed or if they were equipped with ALICE or equivalent systems. Only thing we have, besides knowing they exist, is a picture of one (seemingly regular color scheme) with EX equipment in Anaheim Journal. It's dated for UC 0091, iirc, Lhasa.

I-field reflector at the end of the barrel can control the firing angle up to about 20 degrees, which is a pretty huge difference at range compared to firing only directly at what you aim at.
The long rifle "washing pole" used by Victory Gundam is also a smart gun, it dates back to circa Cosmo Babylonia Founding War.
>>23376289
AA BS is similar technology but it bends the beam itself after it fires, utilizing the Psychoframe's sensing capacity to track targets based on their brainwaves. It's unclear whether the tech itself is related or if they share the name because in practice the effect is similar to anyone that's not a nerd.
Anonymous No.23377141
>>23376915
Here's the Apsalus III beam cannon, which has a mode that acts like a beam smartgun. Aside from firing a regular bigass beam, it can also fire a single thin continuous beam and then use I-field magic to manipulate the beam's angle, so it can shoot in different directions without needing to move itself even though the beam cannon is fixed in the front of the body.

No they don't, just the trademark Gundam name. The problem with Sentinel is that they didn't have an actual written contract agreement and all of the agreements they made before was verbal so the new Bandai execs have no clue what those agreements were and just treated Sentinel as another Gundam IP.

It was actually meant for Alpha 2, with a few references to it still in the game. Sentinel's Barzam is used in the final game, at one point a chunk of Federation forces defect to join an enemy faction on the moon, a few characters remark that there's a special task force in the EFF with a name similar to the Alpha Numbers.

Is the Beam Smart Gun stronger than the Beam Magnum? Or why is it so fucking huge?
Anonymous No.23384399 >>23385768
>>23384370
No. It has been stated to be inferior to the Mega Bazooka Launcher, while the Beam Magnum is on par with it.
Anonymous No.23384428 >>23384448 >>23385805
>>23384370
The length and radome of a beam smartgun is more for ultra-precise shots from a distance. It's maybe the ultimate sniper-type rifle, but not as destructive as the beam magnum since it's a much more focused stream of particles. Think of it as being like the Zeta's hyper-mega launcher or the Super Gundam's long rifle, except with the best sensor possible at the time and tuned for a thinner beam effect.

Beam magnum is maybe a miniaturized version of the FAZZ hyper mega cannon, the big fucking honking beam artillery cannon. It certainly has power and range, but not really intended to be a precise weapon when the beam effect feels like it's 50+ meters wide.
Anonymous No.23384448
>>23384428
FAZZ hyper mega cannon for reference

>>23384370
beam magnum is almost 10 years newer than the beam smartgun so it benefited from newer tech and has a lot of power in a small package, but I'm betting the basic bitch-looking feddy rectangle sensor is still inferior to the beam smartgun radome

>>23384370
It is when hooked up to the reactor using the hip connector, which isn't used in the story. On paper its highest power mode is as strong as the hi-mega cannon but more concentrated.
Anonymous No.23385805
>>23384428
>Beam magnum is maybe a miniaturized version of the FAZZ hyper mega cannon
The Beam Magnum is definitely not that strong, at least according to databooks. Sources range from having 4x the output of a normal rifle to the output of a mega launcher or mega bazooka launcher. It's unclear what this means exactly since the mega launcher, hyper mega launcher, and mega bazooka launcher are all part of a single class of high-power beam cannons called mega launchers. They appear to be some sort of advanced version of beam bazookas with a seemingly variable range of output. So I guess the Beam Magnum, and the The O's rifle, would probably also fall into that category.

The Zeta's Hyper Mega Launcher only clocks in at around 8MW, but it's noted to be weaker than the Hyaku-Shiki's Mega Bazooka Launcher, in exchange for better power efficiency and higher rate of fire. Given the 4x output of normal rifles claim and the comparison to the Mega Bazooka Launcher/Mega Launchers, the Beam Magnum probably clocks in somewhere between 8-20MW in output.

The Hyper Mega Cannon is 80MW.

wasn't it just that he was average? and that they specifically picked him because he wouldn't notice anything out of the ordinary and the people looking at the data would be able to see ALICE's growth?

I mean if you put in an ace newtype then it'd be hard to tell what part of the data was just the pilot or when the AI actually made a difference, or it might not even need to interfere at all

also ALICE was intended to learn human-like thought patterns, it wasn't meant to absorb and build on combat data from the pilot like a standard learning computer, so it didn't matter if they put in a shit pilot or a great pilot anyway, going off that ALICE's confession story.
