Anyway, I was into Digimon before I ever got into /m/ stuff and I never really dropped it or lost interest in it. XW was and still is the only series I watched from start to finish while it was airing though. I remember that guy who posted all the AMVs for the XW songs also posted all the episodes on his channel as they came out, though obviously they've long since been taken down
To this day I'm still pissed that we can't get anything other than Shoutmon and Omega Shoutmon in the games

Why are they making a mystery out of who the cast are? We already know they'll just be regular voice actors we always hear in anime.

I still think Shoutmon X3 should've worked more like any of the Getter Robo incarnations.
Shoutmon X3 would've been the Getter 1 with a slide evolution ability into either Durulumon X3 or Ballistamon X3 and so on.
Would've also played even straighter into the super robot feel for which Xros Wars was going with.

There's plenty more factors to Pokemon's popularity than just the lack of a single mechanic, bias towards what's perceived as the "originator" of a genre from starters.

I think the designs do stand on their own more with Xros because of the reasons I described. The components are still an obvious part of the combined form's identity, also the fact that every single mon that was involved with Xros has multiple different Xros forms mitigates it a lot. There's less of a sense of "these designs only exist to make some other design seem artificially cooler" since each Xros mon isn't specifically tied to any one form

I don't think it's ever been confirmed, but considering the middle stock combination in this pic resembling Saggitarimon, it's likely.

Gonna be really blunt, off-topic and blogposty, but yes. I'm the 555 tripsposter too. Despite being a Digimon and Rider fan, I don't really practice drawing them that much compared to anime mecha. Pic related was my first ever attempt on drawing a Digimon. For the Rider side, I crummingly tried practicing drawing Kabuto and Gavv, the latter mostly because he's the currently airing Rider at this moment.

I don't think the Bio-hybrids were that big of a deal in a vaccuum, but it was fun to see a group of villains have a similar gimmick to the heroes of a previous season (Frontier).
X-Evolution was technically the first to feature the Royal Knights (unless you count Frontier I guess), but there wasn't that much the movie could do with 4 and only really focuses on Alphamon anyways. Savers definitely used the Royal Knights more interestingly, even though they weren't all there and only had a 1/4th of a season to shine. That does mean most of the knights who do appear don't exactly get fleshed out though I'd say Sleipmon and Craniummon are memorable because of their role in Savers. Still, it does provide a nice foundation for future works to expand on, Cyber Sleuth in particular, and Saver's version of Yggdrasil is definitely who comes to mind when I hear that name in the context of Digimon.

Been out of the loop for a while and really want some digimon action. Will Time Stranger be grindy like CS where you have to grind just to evolve and devolve to get enough points to evolve to what you want?

most likely, there's basically no Digimon game that isn't grindy except for like the card or fighting games I guess
Though on the other hand CS allowed you to significantly mitigate grinding compared to prior games, so TS could potentially take that even farther

It was great for me, but that's because I kept waiting for the fantranslation for years and it came out at a time when I was in a slump and it cheered me up. It can get gimmicky when you repair plates but I think there are AR Codes for that.
I stopped at the post-game because, apparently, your digis' stats keep going after 999 because my team was maxed out but I could barely make a dent on the bosses you find here and there.
If I could compare it with the other DS games, it feels a bit on rails like in World DS at the start but repairing digivolution trees can get pretty addictive – or you may end up hating it and looking out for those cheats.
If that doesn't work and you MUST play a DS game, I believe there is a randomizer patch for Dawn/Dusk at the Romhacking page.

Pretty great show, although some episodes were kinda lame line the restaurant, Miami being and princess and Sora's love.
The last arc was awesome.

It'll always be my favorite digimon show and one of my favorite super robot shows. I was going through college at the time and having shows like Xros Wars, Gokaiger, and Go-busters to look forward to helped me get through each week. It had a fun cast, some of the best music in the series, and even great animation at times. I was a bit disappointed in boy hunters back then, but it grew on me. Still had good music and made for a decent side story. Wish they did more with the crossover stuff at the end.

For the last theatrical movie, The Beginning, Toei released a simplified timeline graphic and decided to omit Tri.
Fans took this as face value and proclaimed the staff hate Tri and removed it from the timeline.
Which isn't true because Tri was mentioned as part of the same timeline in an interview with the movie's producer, and in the previous movie, Kizuna, Meiko and Meicoomon, Tri's main characters, show up briefly.
Finally in Beyond, Meiko and Maki, another character from Tri whose fate was unknown, have brief cameos, possibly as a way to make up for the lack of mention in the timeline graphic.
If staff truly regretted Tri, there wouldn't be any cameos or mentions at all.
