I mentioned Monstaboo being bad on the other post and I'm not trying to excuse Takahashi as a writer, I literally said he's bad at adapting to last minute changes. I also don't want him to be the main writer because Geats, Zero-One and Ex-Aid weren't to long ago so tropes like his usual artificial human stuff will overlap and feel repetitive. I like Geats' Q2 and from what I've seen people generally like Lopo and the Jyamato Grand Prix, they mostly just don't like Nadge-Sparrow and Neon.
I'm just saying that there's higher chances for Zeztz to be closer to Ex-Aid due to the production conditions.

I think people being so overhyped for Revice VS how the show actually turned out did help people learn to keep their expectations in check.

The Stomach have all these background connections to the main cast that were built even when they weren't active though (like we got new Lango flashbacks even during the clone arc where he wasn't even appearing in the present) and Bocca and Lysel are decently active in comparison to the Stomach, although lack in personal connections.

I guess the show doesn't have that sense of the heroes always fighting the villains as they progress, building a sense of rivalry, but personally, I don't think that's really necessary. It all depends on the type of villain, and parading around too much won't suddenly make them great characters either, see th Megid Trio. Or can even hurt them if don't too much (See Masamune or Gai). I actually like the show so far has avoided getting stuck on the heroes facing the same enemies repeatedly.

Ok, this might be a hot take, but I always thought Kiriya getting killed was one of the worst story choices Ex-Aid did, cause there was way more interesting things that could have been done with him alive and working together with Emu. Killing him just meant that the status quo amongst the Riders resetted back to all of them being at odds with each other, and now we tack on this mystery of figuring out what Kiriya learned before he died. In fact, I feel you can make a direct throughline between the fallout of Kiriya death and all the other story issues that Ex-Aid had.

Again, the middle going nowhere in her previous shows were due to the producers (director in the case of Healing Precure), not her, that's why Gavv's middle progressed the plot and character relationships a lot.
The problem that's actually Komura's fault are the character focus, which isn't that big of a problem for Rider as it is for Sentai because Rider isn't team based. So the Rider trio gets ton of development but the villains are too simple and Sachika while continuously useful and likeable has a notable lack of backstory and despair moments.
This next part is my headcanon but I feel that Gavv was really close to suffering the same issue as Kiva's and Geats' second halves due to Takebe not actually doing the government organization plan due to lack of budget but the vice producer basically saved the show by coming up with some ideas to compensate, so Q2 ended up being worse than the rest of the show but not straight up bad.

Funnily enough KR staff is pretty good at balancing Rider+side character+villain focus while Sentai is always gonna have the weakest link of the main 5.

I feel like part of the character focus issue is a lack of build up. It’s a really basic thing that even the worst shows like Revice didn’t fuck up on.
For example, “we” care about Shouma meeting his other family because it’s been shown and explained multiple times throughout the show. It started with Hanto doing field work and the recurring candy shop owner.
Nobody really cares Glotta’s issues because it was revealed an episode before her death.

That's part of why a lot of people say Stomach are weak villains. They've basically been sitting around doing nothing for most of the show only to have their backstories and motivations laid out in the same episode they die. Jeebh is the only one who's gotten any real focus or development and that's after disappearing for the entire second quarter of the show. Lakia, Glotta and their whole arc are pretty inconsequential to the plot. Same with the raid to Stomach Inc. which outside of Glotta casually revealing Shouma's a Stomach to the other Riders just because, doesn't really bring them closer to beating the villains. Suga was completely wasted and his research so far has only been used by Bitters who up to this point are glorified monsters of the week rather than substantial threats. Bocca distributing Dark Treats to influential Granutes hasn't had a big payoff yet, the most we've gotten is a glorified Monster of the Week in the form of Magen. And Lango getting beaten just gave him an excuse to dip out of the show for a few more episodes.

Granted, I mostly had Q2 in mind when I made my post.

Yes, but it would make them better than they ended up being. Most of Saber's villains save for its final boss didn't survive nearly as long as Gavv's either, their deaths were spread throughout the show so they could pave way for Storious and wouldn't end up cluttering the endgame. Imagine if Legeiel, Zooous, and Master Logos were all still alive past episode 40, dragging their subplots along Storious'.

Yes, but the opposite isn't good either, because if the villains do too little for very long periods of time it will feel like the story's spinning its wheels/the plot is not advancing much, and it can also hurt the endgame if you delay all their resolutions up until the last few episodes like it happened with Geats. There has to be a balance to achieve a good satisfactory pacing for the plot.

Depends on the Rider. There are some that are absolute musts like Ryuki, Faiz, and Kabuto, then there are some that you can easily skip without missing anything like Showa vs Heisei. Some are even canon to the show's main story like Double.

In general, the summer movies started being mostly recommendable during the second half of the Heisei era. W, Wizard, Fourze, Drive, Zero One, Build, Geats, Gaim, all had decent or passable summer movies. Basically, if you liked their respective shows, you are likely going to enjoy their summer movies. IIRC, the only summer movies that are arguably better than their respective shows are Zero One and Wizard's.

The crossover movies are all over the place. Usually, people recommend at least watching the Heisei Generations trilogy. Gaim x Drive's was decent. Revice x Geats is... Weird. And so on. You never know what you will get with winter movies.
