Not as far as I'm aware and the interviews confirmed that Houtaro had to audition iirc, I remember Hasegawa saying that Motojima was exactly how he imagined Houtaro to be.
The leading theory as to why they chose two bad actors was that because Minato mostly worked as an Anime producer he had a really arbitrary process for casting due to not being used to live-action. But we don't have any comfirmation for anything as far as I'm aware.

Inoue's dad was a BFF of Ishinomori which helped as an episode writer for the original Cyborg 009 which is why they did so many toku together.
Inoue was just a nobody episode writer just like Amemiya who was considered a nobody episode director, they got chosen for Jetman because Toei had given up so they wanted a younger staff to do the show which resulted on the popularity of the two skyrocketing. Shirakura was a an AP in Jetman and became BFFs there, Shirakura producing most of Early Heisei and Takebe being a direct apprentice of Shirakura resulted in him being involved on every early Heisei season but Den-O.

idk why I listened to the loudmouths here about Black Sun, just finished and it was honestly pretty good. yeah it's pretty on the nose about the real-life commentary, but it probably had to be this way cause there isn't any extreme cases in Japan like it is overseas. I praise its cinematography more than anything. The shots and scenery are just immaculate despite being the usual filming locations Toei has access to. There's probably a budget reason for why it can't always be this way, but man I wish the mainline series had this type of directing.

I think that was a bit of an unofficial tradition. From Kabuto there's always a time where usually the final form weapons doesn't use all of its attacks. Like Kabuto's Perfect Zecter there was a finisher for Drake mode in its Sword mode, Kiva with Bashaa Fever, and Decade Complete never summoned Ultimate Kuuga by himself. I don't remember if OOO's Medagaburyu used all of the Combos' associates or not. It can be annoying to people but it's kinda amusing for me.

The issue I have with the hoppers is that it feels repetitive since even in Showa they would have a wider variety of insects and then from Kuuga onward designs have been continously experimental and varied, so having 3 mainline protagonists with partially the same motif feels uncreative, even more when aside from Zi-O, Saber and Gavv all of the Riders since Build boils down to Animals, Random thing or both, and we had Zi-O and Revice whose forms are based on past riders close to each other too.

With Build and Gotchard you would get a multitude of unused combos and with OOO besides the generic plain cell medals there weren't any medals that didn't belong to a combo, meanwhile Saber opted to mostly just release books based on stories that didn't belong to any combo without releasing any unused animals or mythical beasts books besides the ones based on the Riders themselves. The combo gimmick in Saber just feels noticeably more forced than the rest of these "combine" gimmicks, which only makes the lack of explanations given more confusing.

Saber being the only Rider who mixes and matches Books semi-regularly is justified in-universe by several scenes. Like this scene in Kenzan's Swordsmen Chronicles episode or the duel with Slash that basically explain that Touma's creativity, which is a quality the other swordsmen lack, allows him to use the powers of the Wonder Ride Books to their fullest extent in order to somewhat make up for his lack in swordsmanship skills. There's also Rintaro advising Touma on the risks of using Book combos since they're physically taxing, the consequences of which we see multiple times throghout Q1. And there's also an implied risk in using other Riders' Books, like how Saber's use of Peter Fantasista backfired on him before Blades took it and wound up performing much better than he did.

All of these moments serve to explain why the trained swordsmen usually stick to just using the Books that "belong" to their specific powerset (mostly as a way of powering-up when fights get too tough), while a reckless and curious newbie like Touma feels compelled to try out and exploit all the new powers he gets his hands on.

Completely left-field, but I'm really just enamoured with the idea that Over/Master are Shouma literally enveloping and powering himself with the embodiment of his happy times (his Gochizous). As shown by the henshin effects, the suit is literally just a conglomeration of the hundred Gochizous in the jar, as opposed to the basic undersuit with the snack armour on top of it like the base forms, so they're supporting Shouma quite literally and directly.

It's also cool how unlike his siblings, his "minions" help him/give him the power to fight, as opposed to being convenient servants.

All other Gochizous/Rider tech seems to max out at Blizzard Sorbet levels too going by the good ol' make-believe stats. So it makes sense that the next step for a genuine power up was to just use a jar full of them

I think there's a misunderstanding. I don't hate good morals. I dislike people that talk big morals but don't do anything to solve the problem. It's the "thoughts and prayers" response to a mass shooting. Don't get me wrong Shinji fights monsters but spends the entire series of Ryuki basically doing nothing to actually stop the Rider fights. He constantly gets his own morals questions by everyone around him because he doesn't have an answer to how he can keep his morals and still survive/win the Kamen Rider battle. It's just a frustrating kind of character because he gets to be righteous purely by the act of doing nothing and being the main character while everyone else constantly just beats the shit out of each other. He's almost too passive in his own series almost everything he does is reactionary his few stand out moments have only been in this last arc where he finally actually is proactive, like saving Kagawas family.

Godai is by far my favorite protagonist still so don't lump me in with edgy crowd, I just hate the type of character Shinji is, it's my least favorite type of lead for a series. He's great in comedic moments but as a lead character he just hasn't done it for me. The best episode was when he thought he killed Zolda (who he thought was Goro) and he had that whole mental breakdown thing but once it all got cleared up it's like it never mattered. Ryuki mostly feels like it has this problem where character development gets reset every so often and it's very weird to me.

Did they ever say how Mochizuki got Kinoshita's contact? I know that he chose him because he wanted Revice to be dark and he liked the Nightmare series that he did.
I'm just wondering because from what I've seen in other Rider and Sentai seasons, they usually hire writers based on friendship, recommendations from other staffers, having worked with them when they were assistant producers, asking higher-ups for contacts or by letting the channel itself choose the writer. But Kinoshita seemingly doesn't fit any of those categories as far as I'm aware.

Even though Revice is my most hated season I really hope the next two seasons choose writers that had never worked as chief writers for a Kamen Rider season before.
