-=READ THE GUIDES=-
Welcome to the Gunpla/Plamo General!
For those new, please read our guides. We have many resources available to help you in many different aspects of the hobby. They're here for you!
For the unclear, "plamo" is short for "plastic model". "Gunpla" is thus short for "Gundam plastic model". Many different kinds of models are built here, ranging from mecha to planes, cars, musume, you name it! If you're new, you're gonna screw up. Don't worry! If you're seasoned, don't make the newbies worry!
And don't forget to report shitposting and spam. The mods don't browse /m/ too often, so it's up to YOU to help keep our general clean and civil!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?Be more specific, and try to provide clear images if you can.
>Why are my pictures sideways?4chan strips EXIF data when images are uploaded, including the orientation tag if it's from your phone. To fix it save out your images separately, or use an app that will rotate and save the images for you.
One easy to use app that works well on Android:

-=ARTILLERY GROUPBUILD=-
Build a mecha or vehicle that uses long-range heavy-weapons such as Cannons, Missiles/Rockets, Railguns, or any other type of siege weaponry. Some clarifying rules
>The weapon can either be placed anywhere on the build (Shoulder-mounted, under-slung, etc), or in a separate side-build (Such as an artillery system utilized by a larger mech).
>Side-builds can include things like howitzers, self-propelled artillery, missile platforms, and the like.
>Alternatively, the mech can act as a spotter, loader, or some other role to support Artillery fire.
>Despite technically being a long-range weapon, Sniper Rifles are a no-go.
Send your entries to gunplaplamo@gmail.com with at least 5 photos of your finished build along with any WIP photos and a description of your entry.

>>23382081>>23382053here is the body and the head of the Infinity.
>>23382100I want to get a justice and canโt decide if I should get this or the regular justice or one of the seed freedom ones
>>23382106So far it has been smooth sailing. Hands and legs also have just 2 rows of images so i am expecting an easy time building it. A blessing after the nightmare that was the ZZ Gundam. I still don't get how those legs work to be honest.
>>23382081After a bit of a hiatus from gunpla, I've decided to make some progress on my project after getting inspired by putty anons work
All right, I'm putting my wallet in your hands, /gpg/:
There's a USAGS sale coming on the 19th, and I need to spend another $22-23 to get enough for the bonus items. So far I'm going to buy:
MG FAZZ
MG Gundam Mk-II AEUG
Bootleg Zeus Silhouette
So what should I buy to get over the threshold?
1. RG Aile Strike and paint it in Strike Rouge colors (I already have the HG, which I'll probably convert to kitbash fodder if I do this)
2. RG Destiny and paint it in Spec II colors (same as above)
3. Some other RG kit like Wing EW
4. Some combination of HG kits
5. Third party accessories for my existing kits
Give me options here.
>>23382130one large hg kit will probably get you over the threshold
fapped to the HG Bolinoak Sammahn
>>23382130RG Aile Strike and also see if they have the 3rd party shoulder joint replacement.
what is this weekend project bros? what are you snapgodding today?
>>23382204Not really snapgod, but i'm building my Hideo Kojima ( female ). I will pair her with Megalomaria's Night Superior bike.
massa tell me what kits i buy
>>23382245Buy the kits for real men.
Is usa gundam store doing targeted advertising here? Noticing a lot more shilling lately
Tamiya 35s, Xuron 410 or something else? Inb4 godhand.
>>23382248it's a popular online retailer
>>23382276That popularity is forced on here. Thereโs other popular online retailers that donโt have shilling campaigns on here and you can tell the difference
Zak leaves your boxes uncrushed if you shill usags.
most shills are displeased costumers who complained, got "customer service" in the backroom and changed their tune
>>23382290Actual shills are all either bots or 3rd world discordfags that do it on the cheap. The idea that you could get disgruntled customers to do it for you is silly. I know that if I had a bad experience with a seller and they tried to bribe me I'd take the bribe and then shit talk the hell out of them anyway.
is there any version of the hyaku shiki 2.0 that doesn't require me to remove all the snapslop off of it
>>23382279>Thereโs other popular online retailersName some.
>>23382312We all hate USAGS here. Everyone has had negative experiences dealing with them and their slow ass shipping, damaged and outright forgotten packages. I'd rather use Newtype, Gundam Planet, Hobbyholics or Galactic Toys.
usags has always treated me well and i recommend buying from them
>>23382310pbandai mechanical clear version
>>23382307i don't think you're getting what kind of "bribe" we're talking about here...
>>23382310Mg Mass Production Hyaku-Shiki Kai has all parts of regular hyaku shiki in uncoated form. Itโs currently on pb now. But unfortunately it doesnโt look like itโs any cheaper than the coated retail version
>>23382373Unless they are offering a full brothel of purus no deal.
Guys I still am kind of confused about why people will get mad if you donโt paint but also get mad if you paint it the same color as the plastic. If you just like the color it is, is it ok to just top coat
>>23382432The rule for every board on 4chan is that you're supposed to hate the subject matter. /v/ hates video games, /a/ hates anime, /m/ hates mecha.
>>23382444Ok yeah that makes a lot of sense. Most of the time I like to do candy coat and pearlescent paint but for when I just like the colors like how it is in the anime and want it matte and thereโs not really any seams or color correction to do I kind of just want to top coat it
>>23382432It mainly depends on what kind of finish you want. Top coat on bare plastic gets rid of the toylike plastic look, but it still looks painfully obvious that you didn't paint it. Consistency also matters, if you only paint the parts that are molded in the wrong color but leave other parts as just bare plastic, it's going to clash and the kit is going to look terrible.
Ultimately you bought the toy with your own money so nobody has any right to tell you what to do with it, but you're still encouraged to try to improve on the basic kit and make it look better than "out of box."
>>23382466>Top coat on bare plastic gets rid of the toylike plastic look, but it still looks painfully obvious that you didn't paint it.Painting it the same color looks the same as bare plastic top coated.
>>23382492You won't be able to get rid of nubs and whatever imperfections the kit had during the assembly. Lore accurate while tasteless, can help covering up the dogshit of the snapshit build. Atleast the nubs are not white anymore.
Reminder that your Gunpla STILL does not have enough missile pods.
Anyone here got the HG Gaogao Destiny? Is it decent or nah? I don't trust youtube reviewers because most of the guys that review chang kits just praise it endlessly because they're cheap.
>>23382508>Lore accurate while tastelessThis is also false, because the kits are rarely ever molded in the exactly correct shade of color that is used in the animation. It's very close, but you still need paint to get the true anime-accurate colors.
>>23382587Accurate to anime or not is subjective. Your paint mixture is not gonna be 1:1 to the anime's color grading. What i meant by tasteless is that it is not interesting to look at, very basic.
>>23382593God is supposed to be bigger than Shining. Why isn't Bandai taking this seriously?
not sure if this is the best board for this question but does anyone know if there's a way to make packages from suruga-ya not require a signature?
>>23382593The shining looks fucking weird in RG with how they slimmed it up. It works for the God but not for shining.
mgk lined shining better than joesgunplagarage......
>>23382696>Top 10 most useless skill ever existed
>>23382702you'll get him next time joe
>>23382696Watched joes vid, I think if it had slightly thinner black lines it would look great, but it's just too much black and it's a little distracting
>>23382110Are you planning on painting the yellow tubing? I donโt know what material it is, but I heard itโs softer and more flexible than ps
>bandai action base peg broke
>gonna have to disassemble everything to replace it
are there options for more solid 1/144 stands that can also pivot and are also clear? this shit started getting lame in 2 days
>>23382733Try to paint, anon. We are not glazing Gaykotsu for his panel lining on bare plastic. That is like admiring a guy who can beat meat and nut in 10 seconds, it is a useless skill.
>>23382741It is the same material as Zaku's tubes. You can paint them.
>>23382756>When you dad is Kobayashi and you got Kobayashi'd again.
>>23382746it's not impressive or good, it just looks better than what you did, joe....
>>23382756Did you glue spongebob to the back?
>>23382760Yeah i'm joe.
Joe mama.
>>23382751Would it be a good idea to leave them unpainted so they look like a different material than the rest of the suit? Or would it not give the desired effect at the 1/144 scale?
>>23382771You can depict materials in many ways, such as giving paint chipping effects and rust for the "metal parts", while painting the tubes smoothly with no rust whatsoever.
>leaving the plastic unpainted except for imperfections/nub marks/seam lines
>doing detail work on top of it
Why is this ok to do?
>>23382793because it's a hobby so who fucking cares
>>23382602>>23382508Why is lore accurate colors tasteless? Painting your gundam tranny colors does not make you an interesting person
What are some good bandai model kits for when you are getting tired of gundams
So, when are the Seed Destiny revives they announced they would do, gonna get released exactly?
I'm forced to keep my perfect grade unicorn in unicorn mode because the 3rd party leds I got are way too fucking bright, they hurt my eyes
>>23382821The 30mm AC kits are really good
>>23382822My uncle works at bandai. He said itโd be 5 more minutes.
>>23382822God willing never.
>>23382826Why don't you try dimming the leds with some markers or paint?
>>23382834Way too complicated, I'm just a snapshitter. This was my first pg and probably the last
>>23382832>>23382822Whose fucking bright idea was it to make a whole new line of model kits for the most dogshit ass gundam show whose mobile suits are all cheap ripoffs of uc stuff? Fuck they could of given us a hg victory line or turn a but we get this fucking shit.
I tried a girlpla and the build was disappointing. I think the size just leaves a lot to be desired.
>>23382841>markers are too complicated
>>23382845>Whose fucking bright idea was it bandai?
>>23382849Heโs just a simple snapshitter please understand
>>23382806Pftt you don't have to paint your kit in cyan/pink colorscheme to spread propaganda. The color spectrum is infinite.
>>23382857So am I but even I still do some real basic stuff like that.
>>23382849Even with a marker it would be a pain in the ass, the paint drops everywhere and I'm not gonna disassemble the kit all over again
>>23382846Maybe anime girl figurine is more of your taste. Girlpla are generally small.
>>23382870I always think the girlplas like this are stupid. Who cares about all that fucking shit, I just want the hot anime girl with disproportionately huge tits
>>23382741It's a little softer than usual but not by much. It still makes a solid click sound when you tap your nails on it so paint will have no issue sticking to it.
I'm finally making plamo again! Thanks for the advice given over the past few threads.
Still easing into the shallow end of the pool - only one kit panel lined and assembled but I have a handful of other 30MM kits that I'm going to work on as well over the weekend. Even found an Umamusume Figurise that my gf wanted that we'll work on together so quite pleased with that.
Got an Espossito Gamma, Spinatio Royal Knight, and Luber Holy Knight along with some wings and the white horse to build next.
Anybody got some cool 30MM stuff to post? I know it's not Gundam but there's some cool mechs in this line and the customization focus appeals to me so I think I'm gonna stick with this line at least for a bit to get my sea legs before I tackle an MG.
I've been waiting to see if this one gets restocked at any point, hoping it will come to a store in my country so I don't get ass blasted with shipping and handling since the kit is already 100$
>>23382696it's crazy to me that he has a full airbrish paint setup and doesn't even fully paint his kits
>>23382870Nah, it's as
>>23382872 said, I just want the big anime tits. It'd be great if I could find an MG sized girlpla. HG sized is just small and there's not a lot of weight to it.
>>23382918Rent free. He said nothing about being a burger.
>>23382845Me, I asked, because I want a remake of the Zaku Gunner with modern articulation, separation and less seamlines. Also want them to remake the Dom and Gai Gundam too for the same reasons.
>>23382822The Destiny stuff will likely only get any form of priority if it showed up in the movie. For instance, I'm betting that's the sole reason that the Destroy got a kit at all. Which is kind of a shame, because the Druggies from both SEED and Destiny could use HGCE kits, same with Saviour and various grunt suits.
>>23382982Calamity is also on my wishlist if not of the top for being my fav. Like sure I could get it now and glue the seams shut with glue, whatever; it would be just better to give it a revive at this point.
But because mentioned it was for Destiny I'm not holding hope to that. So thats why I'm betting on Zaku Warriors and Gaia Gundam revives to get made.
My local area has a good few shops, but in all three places I look, it's atleast 80% seed or seed destiny kits, the only other series I see are with the real grades, and even half of those are seed gundams, I really wish they'd stock some OG gundam material or atleast something other than seed, also a lot of gundam build fighters, one place has a crap ton of the blazing gundam high grades cause I guess no one wants them
>>23382932Koto have started doing their Grande Scale line, 1/6th instead of 1/12th. Maybe they're up your alley?
It should be safe to panel line the RG RX 78-2 2.0 with Gundam fine tip markers on bare plastic due to all the runners being PS, right?
>>23382136>>23382139>>23382144I realized earlier today that I have a Type 89 Base Jabber and could add another MS to the bottom of it, but unfortunately they're sold out on Jegans and the Jesta is just barely shy of the price point. I could try for a Jesta Cannon, but honestly I've never been a huge fan of it.
>>23382191Delpi sells it on the third-party companies section of their website, but does the Aile Strike even need it? I'm already going to get one for the RG Perfect Strike conversion kit I already have, plus the hip joints replacements that I got for my RG Akatsuki came with two so I can replace the hip joints on my RG Perfect Strike too. But since the Aile Strike (or repainted Strike Rouge) isn't carrying a shitload of heavy gear in its arms, I wouldn't think it would need reinforced shoulders or hips.
Ultimately I think I'm leaning towards the RG Destiny, even if it is arguably worse than the HGCE Destiny. I have a set of the RG Destiny wings of light for my RG Destiny Impulse, which I could make a resin cast of, and the RG Destiny would probably look sexier with the Zeus Silhouette. I already have a HGAC Wing Zero that I'm turning into kitbash fodder because I bought it before the RG Wing Zero TV was announced, so turning the HGCE Destiny into additional kitbash fodder could be neat.
>>23383025Sex.
Also the lockable joints is a great feature for this kit, I wish Bandai put that kind of thought into their stuff
>>23383117the HGUC Kshatriya literally has lockable joints
>>23382982I just want an orange Gouf Ignited, man.
>>23382741nta but I'm working on the AoZ Hi-Zack Custom right now, which has similar tubes. I was able to prime and paint the orange tubes with no issues. They're still flexible and it doesn't look like the paint will crack anytime soon.
>>23383072Is it just resized 1/12 kits or is there more to it? Basically, is it more like Full Mechanics kits are to HG where they're basically the same, just bigger, instead of MGs where there's more to it than HGs?

The diecast feet and the springs as tubes for the mask were pretty cool gimmicks but the rubber parts started to rot away over time and I have no idea if I built something wrong or if the elbow joints really ARE supposed to only bend inwards towards the body.

>>23381378>>23381385>>23381414>>23381439>>23381457I think modern mechanical designers can't see the forest for the trees. Animation and plastic models allow for more detail than ever, which leads to complex and visually appealing designs that fails to capture that same charm that the older stuff did. It's a shift in focus from form to line that becomes apparent when you look at the old classics like the first gundam, zaku, scopedog, or leo. All of these have iconic appearances despite being relatively simple. But if you were to simplify the gqux or gundam ex it would be unrecognizable.

>>23383812Anon, it's a shady chink kit, you can only buy it from shady chinks
>>23383773The only one I care about is the Kshatriya since it was made by the Solomon GP02 designers, so I generally don't have to worry about getting China'd on the product
>>23383817>tariffsThe chinese were shipping chink kits like this long before tariffs. My MG 1/100 Jagd Doga came in a baby food box.

>>23383848Why do the shady chinks always censor the face or give it a fake stupid looking one?
>>23383773Some are good, some are bad, overall it depends on your own experience. I got some, plastic, resin and alloy, overall I have no issues with em. Good alernatives in case Bandai doesn't want/care for x-model.
>>23383849Because the face is hardly changed compared to bandai design so they'd be risking triggering bandai assassins. The rest of the suit got just enough new greebles for them to convincingly pretend it's an original product
>>23383856It is very obvious that it is a modified kit of the old MG. The head proportion is almost 1:1
>>23383735simplification is an important part of branding for sure. People remember the stuff they can draw by memory.
Gundam keeps throwing shit at the wall and missing, but as long as people keep buying up the latest waifu kit- nothing is going to change. It's much easier and cheaper to design and animate iconic waifus than it is to animate mobile suits anyways.
Zakus are the stormtroopers of japan, its iconic.
>>23383915Looks good and looks hard. Say what you will about the show but aerial is one of the best gundams imo
>>23383849To avoid copyright. Sometimes they will even package the kits with a non-gundam face plate that the preview images will use and include the appropriate face plate on a runner in the kit. There's a Daban Master Grade Jagd Doga that does that with the face plate and shield.
There's been cases of Bandai sending people to raid the shops of bootlegs and taking their master molds and inventory

I don't want to cement aaliyah's leg armor parts reeeeeeeeee
>>23384042Creativity is just whatever, you do you. But them being iconic or not however, have a specific set of rules. You don't show me shits like "Sky Defender" and then claim it looks iconic.
>>23384046Because apparently gluing your modelkit is a "meme" and you shouldn't do it according to some retards here.
>>23384046Because I hate sanding and I'd most likely have to paint the parts that get between it first, then mask them and paint the cemented armor part. I don't like doing that, I prefer doing all the painting in one time. I'll check tomorrow if there's another way without having to assemble, mask and paint. I have another aaliyah I had planned for next year but now that I know all the cementing it takes, I might sell it
>>23384053if painting in stages triggers you that much you can always just modify the joint
>>23384017I've bought a total of three bootlegs, because one of them isn't worth the asking price, one of them is never available on US P-Bandai, and one is going to be used for kitbash fodder.
>>23384061I might be able to do something similar to what I did with the shoulder armor parts and the part that goes between them. Cut one peg entirely and slide the part in, though there's more parts that go between the two leg armor parts. If not I'll keep reeeeeing but I'll do what needs to be done anyway

All right, someone walk me through buying shit on Mandarake or Surugaya. Pretty much every retail kit I could ever want I already have, so it's basically down to buying and/or waiting for P-Bandai shit. Is it actually cheaper or same-price to buy that shit from Japan and have it shipped compared to buying from the US website? And what about the free shipping shit I keep hearing about? I can't imagine that they could make any amount of profit this way.

Hot take: painting yellow gold when the rest of the armor is not metallic does not look good. Itโs not the fucking frame where it makes sense to be metallic, itโs the same as the fucking white and blue and red on the rest of the gundam. It does not make sense to just pick one random color and give it a different finish than the rest.
Does the RG Sazabi FF have all the parts to make the bits of the original with all of the unused parts?
So, some threads ago, an anon asked about Vengeance's Grind Blade on Puni Moffu kitbashing and their scaling. Well, here Grindblade on Megami Device. Still pretty big but it doesn't seem to have over the top effect like on Agni/Vengeance itself. Also, it doesn't have cross compatibility like most of modern Koto kits, so some technical modeling will be needed.

It's bad, especially the gloss. You have to flood the part to make it actually glossy, same goes for the Matt one.
Also, each can is very small and holds a pitiful amount of clear in it. You'd probably need four cans to finish a MG with these.
How much worse is Testors enamel compared to Tamiya? I'm bummed that Tamiya gold leaf enamel isn't an actual gold and I'm trying to find an alternative.

Thoughts?
Removing liquid mask is so satisfying.
>>23386002Given that the inner part has a lot more mechanical details I think it'd be better to do that in a ligher color with the structural frame around it darker. especially if you use a dark wash to highlight the details
>>23385968Straght-up with no thinning using a large brush, don't worry too much about it pooling, it will self level as long you don't flood the piece with it.
I can also confirm that mecha varnish is not affected by tamiya enamels and thinners.

I don't get what the practical difference is
>>23386072White base is pretty thick, it's good if you need to fill tiny cracks and sinks. Finishing surfacer goes on smooth and so any imperfections in the plastic will show through the final coat of paint.

Not on the legs, but the gun gimbals, the arms, the head and the torso. I think most vehicles still have movable turrets when applicable too, and they've gotten nice enough they're quite sturdy without any tightening or magnets or anything.

I'm curious, what's so special about the MG Sinanju for it to be $185? Seems kinda like a stretch for a 2013 release.
>>23386089Remember the 2000s era defiler kit? the articulation on that kit was an absolute disaster and it had no base either. I had a hard time keeping up with the frequent rules rewrites after the shitshow that was 8th edition and when the pricing on the kits started increasing disproportionately compared to inflation I stopped buying warhammer entirely. I still like some of their new designs but not enough to spend 50 dollars on a single sprue/runner blister pack character model.

>>23385995I don't know that it will get an MG if only because bandai seems dead set on killing off the line but otherwise I agree.
>>23386303I donโt even think it will get a fm. Oh well at least the hg is almost rg level
>>23386108>>23386280Are you from norway? Yeah shits really fucking bad here, just import from japan and deal with the taxes over paying that scalper nigger.
>>23386280These prices look slightly more reasonable, but still higher than what they charge even in the US. I guess if you don't have very many options, this might be the best you can do. Though frankly you might be better served just traveling to a EU country and physically buying off of shelves there.
>>23386306Yeah, if it was ten years ago I would have said an MG was a sure thing. But we live in much worse times. Best it or any other series can probably hope for these days is an RG at some point. And I do think that one day it will probably get one, although it will probably be a while since bandai still has a bunch of suits that are probably higher priority first.
>>23385976The GQ has a ton of articulation and a lot of interesting features you're not going to see elsewhere like it's beam sabers, core fighter design, a closed and open head, etc.
It's great for posing, customizing, and I'd even think it'd make a great toy for younger builders instead of being just a display piece.
The G-Self by comparison did not get enough love from the engineers. Very stiff, elbows can only bend 90 degrees without modification, there are in fact tons of obvious small modifications you can make to increase the articulation of the kit while barely effecting its visual appeal, which begs the question why the engineers didn't design the kit that way in the first place.
The optional parts for the G-Self are split across multiple different kits.
To me one of the most iconic things about its look from the show is its red shield with the yellow cross, and that's trapped in an optional Space Pack kit that's becoming increasingly rare. You have the G-Self With Perfect Pack as like an ultimate version of the G-Self, but it's not a great option if you want to build a G-Self that looks like what's on every poster and piece of cover art.
The base kit has this baffling thing with its own shield where it's this more simple shield design the G-Self has for only a handful of episodes, but the plastic is blue: this design is shown during the credits at the end of every episode with a *red* shield, and I'm not sure this more simple shield design was ever blue in the show at all.
For these reasons I would guess the GQ kit would be more popular.
I do hope the G-Self gets some more love in the future with a redesign.
>>23386105I know but GTMs are the epitome of that process coming to its zenith
>>23386333Maybe, but I'm not sure why you'd care when the designs stopped being good long before that. It's just going from one bad design to another.
Which gunpla/plamo would look good painted in a 'manga' style like this?
Which gunpla/plamo would look good painted in green
>>23386341any gunpla or automotive/historical kit with a mix of flat surfaces and fine details and doesn't cost too much
>>23386344green is not a creative colour
>>23386280What about MechaUniverse? Great prices and they ship all of Europe, i only pay 6 euros flat shipping, but that's a exception not the norm.
>Can't consolidate two August delivery orders because one has free shipping and the other doesn't
Are you serious?
>>23386385Cancel both orders and then make a fresh order containing all the stuff. Unless the items are already out of stock and you can't order them again.
Not like you have to worry about it in future orders, since they're taking away the entire consolidation feature.
>>23386390>Unless the items are already out of stock and you can't order them again.Yeah, unfortunately one of the items is out of stock by now. Whatever, I was almost going to push for free shipping on this new order but decided I really didn't need two of the kits (Woundwort and Zirius)
>since they're taking away the entire consolidation feature. What's their fucking problem? Shipping things too hard for the giant global company? I mean what the fuck?
I can already tell Zak got bored of gunpla and now diving deep into Maschinen Krieger and eventually military models.

No; it is now horse-mecha musume with emergency backup legs!

>>23386422>maschinen krieger just looks like random lumps of putty painted in military liveriesAgree.
I need more of them.
>>23386404he's been into machinen krieger and girlpla forever, he only shills gundam shit for the normies to promote usags
as people that don't like how much zak is shilled here you sure do like to talk about him a lot
>>23386435No, he is generally liked here due to the fact that he is just a standard model reviewer without trying to make it a clownshow like Gaikotsu.
Speaking of E-Celebs, what do you guys think about the dude from Gundam Store Dk.
>>23386433Kinda reflect the harsh reality of content creation. You cover something that is actually interesting and not faggy, you get less money than the faggy fastfood content that makes you die inside everytime you make them.
>>23386442I wouldn't call Zak ecleb. He is pretty niche.
>>23386404>I can already tell Zak got bored of gunplaThat's why he orders like 100 models for himself personally and makes custom builds.
>>23386093Speaking of which, I wonder if they will ever make a white base kit, I know there was one waaaaay back in the day, but nothing since then
>>23386448The reason this image doesn't work is because nine times out of ten on modern 4chan both green people are the same person samefagging.
>>23386422That describes the m4 Sherman.
>>23386450Most of those are for internet contents for views. His actual passion project is...charming to say the least.
He has been keeping this custom build as pinned post for 5 years.
>>23386458Don't let that anon know the existence of Zimmerit lol. Literally putty for tanks.
>>23386463>antimagnetic mine coating >used by the only country to field magnetic mines>would crack and fall off in winter>added a hundred kilos in useless weight>would catch on fire when hit>applied to shitty tanks that would catch fire if you threw a smoke grenade on their engine deck (implying the transmission final drives hadn't exploded in transit to battle)yeah
putty for tanks...
>>23386473The "easily on fire" part was a proven to be false information. The putty can catch fire when it was still wet but that is just the regular process of making it dry and harden, typicall by using a blowtorch. The dried putty does not ignite.
>>23386473>>applied to shitty tanks that would catch fire if you threw a smoke grenadeVery cool, Steve Rogers.
>>23382081painting some seed slop
>>23386509nah, the french 503e tank regiment trialed the panthers postwar to see if the design was worthy for adoption/further development and found this out. one of the laundry list items of why the tank was so shit
The guy who reviews gundam models for a living obviously does not like gundam models.
>>23386516That's the context of technology alone, anon. You are not some sort of badass super soldier, you are probably some fat slob who have never fought a war in your life and will 100% die upon the encounter with this " shitty tank". Return to reality, please.
>>23386521To be honest if I had to turn a hobby into a job I'd probably slowly start to dislike it.
>>23386521Unironically yes. Alot of models that he straight up hates but still have to assemble them for youtube reviews.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfOLjjrXnPk
>>23386525>get killed in an encounter with a tank that couldn't drive to the battlefield under its own power without exploding the straight cut gears in its already overstressed powertrainlmao
naziboos out in full force
>>23386532Disliking a model is not the same as disliking Gunpla.
>>23386521That's understandable.
>>23386521maybe he doesnt hate them, but his face doesnt light up like when he reviews a girlpla
>>23386528Unironically, people only think of modelkit reviewers as someone who has access to bunch of models without thinking that they will have to encounter absolute dogshit and undesirables. It is fun as a hobby, but the momment it becomes a "must do or you die" kind of task, it stops being fun and more like a super tedious chore.
>>23386521tbf bandai kits can be very repetitive. it makes sense to want to do other kits for personal projects

Have the white and blue gun-ez ever been on us pbandai's store?
>>23386538Not disliking, but burnt out. It is not fun when you nolonger engage with modelkit as a hobby and more like a job. I can tell Zak doesn't get excited for Gunpla as much as his usual passionate schtick ( Maschinen Krieger, niche models and girlpla ).

Both spoons were sanded with 120 grit (WAY too rough...) and given dark purple primer
>Folk Art 2956CA Violet Pansy
One side of the spoon has some orange over it. Pretty rich purple, darker than I expected. Amazingly not bad.
>Folk Art 2964CA Sterling Silver
Metallic flake sizes similar to Citadel paints. I hope this brushes on as nicely as it airbrushes.
Why I am on this insane quest to make craft paints work for models I have no idea...

Logging off 4chan for the night bros. Happy snapping
>>23386699If you think that's crazy, wait until you find out who designed Gaogaigar.
>>23386699Okawara also designed Zolo and the related variants. Ishigaki designed Shokew, Jamesgun and several other ships. Katoki was in charge of Victory Gundam and that's pretty much it.
Did I just dream that some chink bootlegged a better RG frame for the Zaku II? Could they be working on a better frame for the RG Sinanju?!
>>23386743nothing wrong with either of those frames as long as you treat them like model kits and not toys
>>23386234they have their cnc machines working 24/7 on making molds for new pbandai, no space in the schedule to make more MGs
>>23386647source? proofs?
>>23386404He doesnโt even color correct or paint/sticker for his reviews, I canโt imagine him working outside of gunpla where he canโt get away with that without it looking terrible
>>23386751Now, this makes me want to get my hand on RG Sazabi to see how much of the myth is true. Gunplabros are just not very liable reviewers in my opinion.
>>23386781Anon, he is one of the rare gunpla reviewer that actually paint.
>>23382081I may do the yellow parts in gold. They look like gold on the box art. I ended up doing the frame in a dark brass tone. I am very happy with the shades of red and blue I went with. I like them being a bit more subdued. Still not sure how I feel about the barbatos itself.
>>23386751There is a lot wrong with the sinanju's frame. Trying to force the mk2 frame into working for a kit that it was never designed for and frankly makes no sense to be used in was fucking retarded. It is fixable of course, but it requires a fair bit of modification that will likely reduce articulation.
>>23386781Why would you when the whole point of a review is to see what it looks like out of box? A painted and modified kit tells a buyer nothing. It's a review, not a showcase.
>>23386800>will likely reduce articulation. So it can become better, then?
>>23386806So it can stop trying to rip itself apart from weight that the shoddily retrofitted frame can't support just standing there, so in a sense, sure.
>>23386412>$500 kit>no welding on the turret or hulleven that cheapass hobbyboss 1/16 kit got them (and still fits well), looks like max factory just reused the existing figma tiger and resold it disassembled
I finished these two. And by that I mean I finally got to take photos of them.

>and the one time that they do use the Type 89 Base Jabbers, it was in the single scene where they chase after the decoy Garencieres and it blows up, and one of them was piloting a Jesta Cannon
I really should have done this at HG scale instead... Technically I could, but then I'd have to find something to do with these three MG Jestas.
