When GQ eventually gets added, which (new) characters would be recruitable? Machu, Nyaan, Challia (basically new as he was a nobody in the original series), Xavier are a given. Shuji would be boss material, but would probably be easily turnable. Don't know about Shiiko and Deux. They might just kill them off like in the original anime.

Shiiko is definitely going to be a recruit option. All she needs is a good beat down and talking to, and depending upon the crossover crises, wouldn't even need that. I would be surprised if they actually kill Deux. A lot of the characters would be pretty against killing a young mindwiped slave soldier. Not saying it's not possible, but it'd be weird to have someone like Domon killing a pitiable little girl. They've redeemed worse characters in SRW. Maybe if they have her going against Challia or Char, but again, you'd run into issues with tonal whiplash.

She doesn't seem that bloodthirsty, she just doesn't seem to care that much. She more or less floats through the battlefield in a trance as she directs her mobile armor around. Very jellyfish like. Taking into account her cybernewtype nature and philosophy, and she's an intriguing enough character for expansion. In comparison, Nyaan actually enjoys killing, or at the least, doesn't mind causing it, has a huge kill count, and she's older and doesn't have the excuse of cybernewtype indoctrination, and people wouldn't have an issue with her joining the heroes.

Though, yeah, If Deux showed up, I think she'd just be an interesting enemy you kill without comment, sort of like how she's treated in the anime. Even a character who would normally be against killing a kid probably wouldn't say anything.

Nah I'd never spend the PP on Fighting Spirit, its alright when a pilot has it by default I guess. You can get more faster out of +1 when Damaged or +1 on Evade though unless it's just on a really slow unit that you can't easily throw into a bunch of enemies.

I find that the +2/3 you get per turn for Fighting Spirit is usually more consistent than +Damage/Evasion when you consider the fact that even if the unit in question can keep up with the bulk of the team, there's no guarantee that they're actually fighting enough enemies for it trigger consistently. Not to mention that some stages just have inherently terrible enemy loadouts initially, so they don't really help in those cases.

It doesn't have to trigger consistently it just has to get to whatever you need for the moves you want to use, since it's adds to whatever they normally get out of a fight it's a decent enough boost. Getting attacked 4+ times in a turn is easy enough to set up on purpose, and that's probably enough to get to 120+ quickly.
And later when the stages longer you'll have ace bonuses/spirit spam to carry your starting morale anyhow so it hardly matters.
To be clear though I'd generally take the +5 starting before the other bonuses too.

If you're buying +morale for a pilot then chances are, they either have terrible gains or pilot a mech that desperately wants to hit 130/140 as soon as possible. In that case, you'd want to give them the most consistent boost.

For someone like King Gainer in Z dodging a bunch of shit is consistent, and I want his Overskill ASAP and not after a few turns of charge time. Non-squad leader Overmen can use Fighting Spirit though sure.
Or pilots like Uso that will usually just rocket off ahead of everyone it's also basically free.

And depending on the game everyone relevant will end up with +10-20 starting anyways before skills are even counted, and you can throw SP at anyone who needs more or do shit like equipping component mechs with all +morale parts and that doesn't go away when they combine.

It's very much an early game thing but getting to use Overfreeze sooner when there's actually shit that needs to get hit with ALLs and not when the map is half over helps on a lot of SR points in Rand's early stages easy. And yeah stacking parts on top of that helps too once you actually have some.

Gainer never really gets enough PP that you can Yell him straight to 130 every time without giving up his other spirits but you get plenty of Rouse to go around lategame.

What makes D's Axis Drop extra hilarious is how much they build up Char prior to that. Besides capturing Amuro/Bright and monologuing to them like a mustache-twirling villain, he also had White Fang and Zechs working for him. The EF there was also the extra-incompetent Victory version.

The issue is that OG was codeveloped by TOSE, but that team probably split apart after the game got cancelled. Actually going back and putting a team back together again will be much harder. And then you have now how Bandai can just advertised old OGs by throwing them into the licensed titles, so there's even less of a "need" for a pure OG game.

Licensing issues are also much less of a problem now, at least for Sunrise shows, since the development team has been fully incorporated into Bandai Namco, rather than it being a separate company under the BN umbrella.

They need to port all the OG games to Steam, Switch 1/2 and PS5 before making OG Final. Moon Dwellers alone even with a fixed translation doesn't make sense and even in JP it's almost 10 years old, you can't ask potential new users (especially on Steam and Switch) to just play OG Final and simply read an in-game summary and call it a day
I actually like how characters are slowly introduced in OG1 and 2 (and 2nd somehow thanks to the EX part being mostly standalone), but MD basically drops half the cast on you by stage 10. It just doesn't work for newcomers no matter what the devs say

All MXP did was boost enemy health, and for most enemies it was so low that it only brings them up to regular SRW standards. Those shitty Grendizer UFOs don't even have 3k HP on PS2 and you fight them up until like the last 10 stages.
Anyone with a shield and a barrier literally cannot take damage from anything weaker than a named boss.

The enemies that only show up as grunts around the various series finales are the only time it should have any real impact on the game.

Vaikungfu, RahXephon, Garmraid Blade (Aqua's form), and a few other units literally cannot take damage except from bosses after a few armor parts, and you can use spirits to deal with the few things that can hurt them. God Gundam is about as busted as usual and its around for most of the game. And I wouldn't even say those are the best units in the game.
Its one of the first games where you can actually upgrade Accuracy too if you wanna save SP purely for damaging shit, only the Nadesico dickheads are kind of dodgy though.

And there's no SR points so you're never really in a rush besides a few retreating bosses so nothing's stopping you from camping on defensive tiles, which are pretty plentiful especially with all the Tokyo-3 stages.

If all else fails, just fucking spam Confuse cause its not one of the games that cut that spirit.

You can give image generation fairly specific data for characters/poses/artstyle that'll override whatever the default data is for the model. Its doing multiple things in one scene and keeping small details consistent that it struggles with.
