he can pose shit real good but his mechanical detailing is unconvincing. it unironically strays into the duane loose battletech "just chunk that shit up into grid textures" cheap scifi-ification at times. so you end up getting designs that are, let's say, good at being enemy battle sprites in an RPG but are pretty bad at being mecha
this really fucks with you when you're into JRPGs and know that a lot of the enemy designers there fucked with mecha pretty hard. so abaddon's designs are worse at being mecha than dragon quest and final fantasy enemies
despite that i'm unsure of how you'd properly "fix" lancer because even though lancer and its mainstream design culture should be steered away from fantasy, the efforts of people like peyton gee to "gundamize" lancer's designs feels like a terribly cheap copout
