Sure, the show gave them arcs to pretend they actually developed and grew as people, but deep down, they really didn't. You can perfectly see that on the summer movie where everyone's attitude is pretty much the same as the winter movie, which aired back in Q1. Ace is still a cocky cool guy, Keiwa is a kindhearted bafoon, Neon is the showoff girl, and Michinaga is a rude asshole. They had all these confrontations and tragedies happening to them only to come the other side exactly the same.
This is especially baffling when, as big of a hack as Takahashi is, he did actually make permanent changes to characters in his previous shows. Hiro's arc in Ex-Aid suck but he genuinely changed as a person after it was over, and his relationship with Kiriya was never the same. Fuga went from robot racist to a true hero. Meanwhile, the Geats gang just sticks to the same old beats for an entire year regardless of what happens to them.
So whatever the fuck happens with Zeztz I hope they have an actual plan for the characters and they do grow as the show goes along. If he just stays as Cool Guy McGun the whole show, then that's lame and boring.

If we really only get Zeztz and Yezz for Q1 I’m looking forward to seeing Takahashi forced for once to actually make a solid primary and secondary relationship, instead of rerouting into the lead having a stronger dynamic with some other guy. Brave and Ex-Aid, Zero-One and Vulcan, Geats and Tycoon…they often feel more like co workers than friends. He tried a bit in Geats, but after they deal with the first DGP manager they sorta just stayed the same. Keiwa went edgy for a bit, but then he got over it and they went back to the same. Now with only 2 riders in the horizon he has no choice but to only play with two toys.

I'm honestly feeling hopeful about Zeztz so far, despite how CGI heavy the cameo fight was in the third PV it makes it seem like Physicam Impact will mostly rely on acrobatic action, and so far every plot leak sounds interesting.
The only thing I don't like right now are the suits and Baku being "mysterious" since it could lead to the same issue Ace had where the actor acted inconsistently because the staff didn't tell him the full context of his character.

I guess you could say Revice was a fumble too and that had nothing to do with Shirakura, but that one is closer to Fourze with the homages and references without actual past suits and/or crossovers.

The issue with Black is that, suit design aside, it was a Rider 1 reference in the first place, going back to the whole "Captured by evil organization and modified". The most unique aspects are the living bike (and bikes are shafted nowadays) and Shadowmoon.
I guess there isn't any Rider that's a direct Shadowmoon homage design-wise now that I think about it? Although Urobuchi has said for the Gaim vs Baron battle he wanted to create something that felt like the tragedy of Black vs Shadowmoon.

In Decade, the producer Shirakura and the main writer Aikawa had really differing visions on how the show would be, Shirakura ended up making a change to Diend's character without consulting Aikawa which resulted in him quitting the show halfway through, so for the middle of Decade there isn't a main writer and for the last stretch Kabuto's main writer Yonemura takes over the show, but since he was brought over so late it ended being a mess. Also from the very beginning Shirakura wanted the show to end on a cliffhanger to shill the winter crossover with W.
With Zi-O the producer Shirakura didn't want to bring pasts actors since he doesn't care about continuity but was forced to, resulting in a lot of things feeling detached. From Q2 onward the show was meant to stop having crossover episodes and just focus on the plot instead but many old actors were requesting to come back resulting in Shirakura having to walk most of his ideas back, including Woz being the antagonist since the character became more popular than he was expecting. The staff had to write the episode scripts purposefully vague since they didn't know which actors they were going to get back. On top of all that Tsukuyomi's Rider form wasn't ready on time leading to even more complications.

I remember that while discussing the scripts for these three episodes, I was already conceptualizing the movie's story.

Yes. In Gavv, from episode 1 onward, countless "gate spaces" were released when Shouma came from the Granute World to the human world. Based on this idea, the Muters, led by Caries, were conceived, as well as the otherworld that Shouma would mistakenly enter. In the script, we refer to this other world as "World B." Lango and the others in World B do not know Shouma at all — they act out of anger when Shita and Jeep are kidnapped — but visually it creates a moment where it feels as if they are coming to help Shouma. That is the feeling I wanted to capture. In the conceptualization, I also referenced the TV opening image, ultimately achieving the scene where all six gather together.
