I don't know what that has to do with anything. They're trying to cram in as many shots as possible so that they can cover all of the nostalgia bases, that doesn't have anything to do with it being digital.
Besides, the giveaways are the crazy-ass camera moves (especially the skydiving scene), the lens blur effects, the lighting effects, the texture details, etc. Basically, layout and compositing stuff that would be a pain to do traditionally.

The Snow White revealed on the novel cover isn't the one Heero used in the novel. it was repurposed into a different suit called Prelude. That seems to be what's happening with all of the others as well. They're using the ones on the novel covers as different suits.
