The gelgoog is ironically a technological dead end. The Zaku line goes farther through the hizack and zaku iii, the dom gets an Axis remake, and the Gyan gets the last laugh via the galbady -> beta -> gazu
Unless you argue the Galbady is part of the Goog line, in which case it still dies out sooner than the Zaku line.

I really don't see how the Titans or the Earth Federation would have gotten their hands on Psycommu tech otherwise. Earth was a bombed-out shithole getting sucked dry of resources by Zeon, forcing their best pilots to use old OYW Zeon suits that they acquired like the Gelgoog, and since Zeon won, there was no yoinking the Zeon newtype researchers so they could do development themselves without starting from absolutely nothing and desperately playing catchup. Something that would have been made even harder by everything else, from losing the war to lacking the obscene funding and support the original Titans had in spades.

well the problem with that is at minimum developing the psyco gundam would have taken like maybe 1-2 years and that was when the Feds won the war and was in a better place to fund development, so gihren would have been basically giving away the psycommu data years ago to help the Feds without any way of knowing when the hell they would have a chance to strike at kycilia

never mind that psyco series was probably originally developed on the back of captured zeong and psycommu zaku data which doesn't even exist in this timeline, so there's no reason for psyco to have beam fingers when zeon hasn't invented them yet and only has the bit and wire-guided mega particle gun tech, so that means the feds independently developed that version of the tech themselves, fully articulating fingers that shoot beams

Within the water flooded containment of her cockpit, Deux's mind spirals into chaos as her mental connection to Amate creates a lingering doubt. Even as the recovery tentacles slither towards Amate and Woody's position, she finds her own thoughts conflict with the ever present influence of the Deep Diver, its own voice whispering of the horrors that will be inflicted upon her and "Machu" should they be allowed to be tricked by the unevolved humans. The Orca still being held by the Deep Diver releases a terrified clicking from his massive mouth, its fear finally pushing Deux to abandon recovering Amate to ensure its safety, along with the others already taken to be converted into "children of the ocean."

The Deep Diver shambles back towards the harbor, its body now spewing out burning smoke from its internal components being overheated. Boosting towards the Deep Diver with his Prototype Gundam Mark II, Jerid looks upon the the devastating result of the Deep Divers expelled heat, with hundreds being reduced to fleshless dry husks across the park. Fueled by a burning rage, Jerid activates his Mobile Suits arm stabilizer as he sets its prototype beam rifle to maximum power.

>Jerid: Think size is going to do you any favors?! This is the collective rage of the Earth!! Even if rips the arm right off, it'll turn you into a molten husk! Wait...is that some kind of a whale? Did they bring that thing to steal that? All of these people...

Finding an opening in the miasma of the burning fog, Woody carries Amate to safety despite her protests to try and reach Deux.

Deux's thoughts malfunction yet again from Amate's distant pleas, her thoughts returning to the man who had attempted to smuggle her away from the Flanagan Institute on Side 6 and his promise of giving her a normal life.

Just as Jerid's Prototype Gundam Mark II moves to fire a point blank shot at the Deep Diver, the mortified Orca releases a panicked call, its frequency alerting Deux's to the incoming danger as she tries to maneuver the Deep Diver to defend. Overriding Deux's direct control to ensure her survival, the Deep Diver fires off beam dispelling gas while raising the hand containing the Orca. With a single, gargantuan burst of concentrated beam energy, the Orca is vaporized in an instant, with a shock wave ripping apart blocks of nearby buildings. Gasping at the loss of the innocent creature of the ocean she had intended to save being annihilated in an instant, Deux loses control over her psyche as the Deep Diver's multiple Mega Particle dispersal cannons begin to charge.

Just as Jerid feels a sickening sensation in his head, the Deep Diver's limbs begin to emit immense circuit fires as its cooling systems are unable to compensate the amount of energy generating in its weapon systems.

Its body expelling burning smoke and electrical sparks, the Deep Diver falls into the nearby harbor, sinking to its depths as it retreats back out to the Atlantic Ocean.

Listening to Woody has several cons. Amate could get abducted on the way or at the destination. Amate doesn't know who the contact is which could cause issue. There is also the unknows of how it will effect Amate personality and how Deux will react to Machu "abandoning" her.

Char was obviously shown to be a psycho manipulator. Jerid will be the remaining trust worthy person left alive if we leave Woody to die. I also think Amate putting her trust in Jerid would be in character.

Are you the person who has been losing their mind every time we had the choice of working with someone form the Luna Protectorate(titans). Someone has been screaming about Amate getting abducted by newtypes labs ever since we ran into Sleggar and Jerid. Luna P(Titans) is a lot more fictionalized than in the main timeline. It going to eat itself at some point.

Is it in character? I think it depends. I think Machu cares about Woody a lot but I could see her listening to him, she's done a lot to trust him, at the very least. It was a direct result of Amuro getting cucked by Scirocco and then decimating his faction of the Titans by luring him into a trap against Axis. A lot of Titans' command had died and Jerid said he would side with Amuro so long as he got to lead the Titans once the war was over.

It was, by and large, one of the best decisions in the run. I actually love all 3 of Machu's choices and would love to see where any of them lead. An inversion of our usual dilemma of having 3 or 4 options that all seem terrible.
With respect to Char and Lalah, there are a few possibilities
1. Char is just trying to distract Ral from preventing some crazy shit he will pull at Dakar, the nukes are just a made-up diversion. However, we all know the Titans are not above using nukes.
2. Lalah is trying to send Machu and Char to nuclear ground zero to get them both killed.
3. Char and Lalah are working together, albeit without his knowledge. Machu will be able to tip the scales at Dakar. Lalah presumably thinks the only way to prevent Char from doing Axis drop or something like it is to prevent him from falling into total despair in the first place, which is plausible - Zeta Char wasn't about to colony drop anyone.
Sidenote, Lalah seems to be soft-confirming that Char is headed to Dakar, not Greenland like he said. I am definitely not sending Ral to Greenland in light of this.
The downside of all this is that if we leave Jamitov, the Titans will presumably grow in strength, nukes or no nukes.
Still, it is time to finally try and get Machu back involved in the main plot imo - maybe Lalah can help us out. I'm calling for Char and sending Ral to Dakar while his army heads to Greenland to at least get us some solid intelligence on what exactly is happening there, maybe a warning of a nuclear launch or a confirmation that it was a total bluff.

Even if I believed that either of these entities are who they say they are, I don't think we should trust them. Lalah is not a paragon by any means, she's a spooky fuckin' newtype ghost that dresses up her vindictiveness in being all spiritual. Plus she could be helping out Char with whatever the fuck he's planning. Char himself is definitely not trustworthy even if he's telling the truth. If he's telling the truth and plans to go to Greenland to help stop a nuclear strike, but Machu reaches out to him to take her to Dakar, what's he gonna do? I doubt he'd be willing to compromise stopping his sister getting nuked, even for Machu, so I have to believe it's bullshit and that best case it's a decoy to keep us away from Dakar and at worst Nyaan is there waiting to be fed more kills.
That said, I'm opting to have Machu go to Dakar with Char, because I don't want Machu trying to fix what isn't necessarily broken with Amuro when 'fixing' him could turn him into Rapemuro 2. Things between him, Recocca, and the others seems to have been working for them so far and I don't wanna mess that up just to please Lalah, as personally I think we should let both sink and focus on those that Machu cares about. Plus the steal option seems like a shortsighted longshot.
As for Ral, while it's a really big gamble to just totally ignore the warning, assuredly ending his career if it turns out to be real, I really can't help but feel like we're being set up by either Char or Zabist hardliners. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if a Kycillia cell in Zeon is about to orchestrate this war to set the stage for Axis' invasion, but he just doesn't sound right for me to believe him. But I do know that no matter what, Ral should be in Dakar protecting Artesia at a time like this.
