Are there any Zeta manga that shows what Amuro was up to between and after his two mini arcs in Zeta? What were him and Karaba doing during the Zeta finale?

I saw where he goes into space later under the White Unicorn codename to hunt Zeeks prior to CCA

Base unit is derived from the Rick Dias, which was derived from the Gamma Gundam project with elements of the GP02. Dijeh has far more Gundam in its DNA than Zaku. It just has a monoeye.

Many of the engineers who worked on the Rick Dias were former Zeonic and Zimmad employees, same thing with the GP02. And the Rick Dias is also derived from the Dowas Custom which is a descendant of the Rick Dom.

Only few know that originally it was supposed to be pink with a cute snout and spiral tail. It was a top secret project codenamed "Piggeh". But when Titans-AEUG war broke out they had to cover it up, it was too dangerous to leave it as is. Given the Dias (and subsequently Dijeh history) history, you could maybe make an argument it's a restored GP02 basis. That or some remnant of the GP suits that would up as the basis. Seeing as a lot of the frame related mechanics that showed up in the Zeta time frame came from that little developmental excursion.

It's kinda stupid, but in Zeta Define instead of the Hyaku Shiki and Dijeh, they develop the Zero Shiki instead which is shared to Karaba and two units are built, a red unit piloted by Quattro and a white and purple unit piloted by Amuro.

In that version of events, Amuro not only still has PTSD from being haunted by Lalah, but he also feels impotent without the Gundam, and couldn't get used to piloting any other MS, he only feels capable when he's fighting specifically in his RX-78-2.

Zero shiki was developed by Edward Labun who was a member of the Project V development team that Amuro's father led, so Amuro is very interested in it and ends up quite liking how it handles.

The manga is criticised as having "drawings of gunpla for combat scenes," but personally I find the palace intrigue to be compelling enough to give the series a try. Some of the story is convoluted, but it engenders details enacted behind-the-scenes, namely the manipulation of Jamitov Hymen to orchestrate events within the Earth Sphere in his favour. It's also a treat for MSV nuts like myself, as Define explores a good deal of Zeta MS variants (my favourite being Char testing out a customised Gundam Physalis by Anaheim Electronics that's pared down to the Gamma Gundam, the forerunner of the Rick Dias.) It makes for good fodder if you get tired of reading one Gundam manga and want something else for a change.

I read all of CDA.

Different anon here. I just read all available chapters of Zeta define.

The manga tries way too hard to have irrelevant characters from many different UC anime interact. Like Young Nanai and Young Chan. Why? It doesn't really make sense for them to be around. ((I'm also having a hard time seeing the young and innocent Nanai transform into the older sultry woman we in CCA in a mere 5 years.))bIt makes the world feel too tiny. Why not have more Sayla or Job John instead? Why not try to do something meaningful m...instead of cramming useless Characters into the manga? Seeing more Kai and Fraw Bo is great thought.

The Titans are way too incompetent in this manga. The AEUG plot armor is absurd. Like the Titans are comically bad. Confidential Information constantly leaks. If they are this incompetent, then how are they ruling the Earth sphere with such bad security? Aren't they supposed to be elite?

Whike it's a funny scene...Why is Bask Om getting upset over buying a handful of Marasai suits from Anaheim and trying to bargain down the cost? The Titans have the biggest budget of all armed forces. Bask Om shouldn't be angry with the cost of a half a dozen Marasai, and screaming about budget. He should be easily able to flash his Titans credit card and pay for it all.

Also the the manor battles in Zeta Define are way too small in scale. Why doesn't the Titans have a huge space fleet? Why do they only ever have a handful of ships? Where did the Titans fleet go? Why can the Argama fly freely in Earth orbit and orbitally bomb Titan's bases in Earth without ANY ships stopping them? There no security anywhere.

Surprisingly there’s very little Gundam stuff that actually explores the period between Zeta and CCA. It’s mostly OYW spin-offs, which is a shame because I’d love to see Amuro in his prime putting the fear of god into Zeeks in space.

Re-read the manga. Bask Om had a video conversation with Anaheim about the Marasais and their performance. He is pleased with them and asks about buying more. Anaheim quotes a price and Bask Om slams his fist on the desk and gets upset. The complains about price.

ZZ wasn't well received by Japan due to issues with its comedic tone. It's also one of the few Gundam anime that does not have a compilation movie. Tomino refused to come back and make a compilation movie for it. When Tomino was asked directly, he firmly said....he has "no interest" in revisiting ZZ or any of its characters.

It also doesn't help that Tomino said he considers MSG, Zeta, and CCA to be the main trilogy of UC. With Tomino saying Zeon is fully gone after CCA with Char's death. He completely ignores ZZ in interviews or brushes off questions about revisiting ZZ.

There's not much will or desire by anyone at Sunrise to fill in that era. And the only one with any right to do it (like Tomino or any of the ZZ staff members) have said no or kept quiet.

The action does feel a bit static. But I'm more annoyed that the battles feel so small scale. Why is Kilimanjaro base so small? Wasn't it designed to replace Jaburo?

Also the whole subplot of "We hacked the door so the Titans pilots can't launch!" is so contrived and stupid. Why are doors remote controlled? If that really happened, the the Titans soldiers would have just blown the door with explosives or used their mobile suits to rip open the door. The hangar aren't completely empty. They had technicians and mechanics working on mobile suits. One of them could have easily hopped in a suit and broke the door open for the pilots.
