open containers of water would float around in Zero G, nobody wants bubbles floating around the bridge.

same for modern astronauts, all of their meals and drinks come in pouches so they dont float around the ship. they even limit foods like breads because crumbs float around and get into ventilation systems and sensitive equipment.

That's clearly not a milkshake on account of them having no fries nearby.

Centre of the Argama has artificial gravity (what do you think those rotating parts are?).

It's a "Milkshake". We can't exactly expect captains to put up with pilot drama sober.

because the machine is broken 90% of the time so you have to get your fill of milkshakes when its working.

You will never see Bright eating borgar on the bridge. Only in the hallways and in the mess.

I just realized, the gravity on ships in UC is just barely enough that humans can float if they want

What's keeping liquids in the sealed cups stable enough to drink with a straw?

There are supposed to be rotating rooms with simulated gravity and then the rest of the ship with zero g.
Anonymous No.23418437 [Report] >>23418900
>>23418212
This varies. The White Base and many ships of its ilk tend to have a gravity block of some kind. Less glorious ships like the common Salamis or Musai do not have gravity blocks. In Zeta Gundam, the Argama's gravity blocks are moutned externally, rotating around the ship when in use. Even then however, everybody tends to drink from pouches or sealed cups. Regarding the suction, you're sucking at liquid in a little pouch or so, so I'd be inclined to think you're just vaccuming up the fluid. I couldn't claim to know how the physics would exactly work in this situation, but astronauts drink from pouches with straws as is.

I assume the gravity bloc is that large wheel the middle of the ship? How's that work out when it's on Earth?
Anonymous No.23418980 [Report] >>23419158
>>23418900
Probably can't be used except for the rooms located at the bottom of the wheel, and if they need to access the other rooms then they'll need to be rotated. Anything inside needs to be secured. Since it's a spaceship, you wouldn't want things floating freely anyway. Military ships are sort of meant to be spartan in terms of amenities or whatever, so for all I know it could just be extracurricular or multipurpose rooms that don't matter what orientation they're in because all of their objects are stored in padded containers that are tied down, and everything is secured either with straps, locks, or magnets.

A gym or two would make a lot of sense, they'd need one while in space anyway and I'd imagine it's probably easier to work most kit under pseudo-gravity than just free floating.
Maybe some amenities for visitors. If there's any chance of the ship carrying civilians or ground-pounders, they might not be as experienced with movement in microgravity. Maybe an officers' mess, and a conventional one if there's room. Food is important for morale and even if it's only a sometimes treat, being able to serve a meal that you can eat normally would probably be a capacity you'd want.

I suppose a big factor is if atmospheric or space is intended to be the primary mode of operation, since that'd determine if you want to have something like a big medical bay that's only properly accessible in space.
