Time to set sail in the sea of space for the 7th anniversary of GBO2. In a few hours, the major update will begin.

The new MS series, which will be the late UC, takes place 10 years after the events of F91, with the key figures putting an end to Cosmo Babylonia. Crossbone Vanguard was reborn to fight a secret war against the Jupiter Empire. The flagship MS, piloted by Kincade Nau, who was also the former pilot of F91, Crossbone Gundam X-1 Kai, has arrived.

Many events are to come this anniversary, so welcome 7 years of Gundam Battle Operation 2.

Mostly because on release matchmaking was straight up broken until the player count was reduced to a level their hamster-powered servers could handle. That's "fixed" now but other factors include overly harsh disconnect penalties and being a relatively lazy port with a UI for consoles

Your biggest issue starting now is going to be finding matches at the D- rank you start as. At this point the vast majority of the playerbase is around A rank where a 1-1 win-loss ratio levels out. The matchmaking is very picky and wont group you up with people at that rank so you'll have hardly anyone to play with until you get out of low rank hell.

Also the Zeta Gundam kinda sucks in this game but it just got a buff today so maybe it's halfway decent now. I dunno.

At this point almost all the iconic suits are off the gacha and are easy to get with the free currency and most suits in the gacha are glup shitto-tier obscure shit. The bigger problem is power creep Most of those classic conic suits are kinda shit unless they get lucky and get a good buff.

Having a few hours under my belt facing entire teams of it i can say the crossbone doesn't amaze me. It's easily shut down by mid range f91, which remains the King of 750 cost. I suggest saving your tokens or use be a fellow f91 Chad like me. Paint gp04 in crossbone colors if you need to

alongside that, outside of the rifle and melee, it just deals very low damage overall, awakened strike can deal pretty good damage with the downswing but not when it's geared more towards shooting rather than melee
NT-D itself also doesn't provide much in the way of statboosts, not nearly to the same degree as the other NT-D suits in 700 for example, it just feels more akin to a permanent HADES-E

You can get the LV1 Enhanced ZZ from the DP shop or you can be like me and use FAZZ LV3, your missiles destroy Psycho Gundams legs and head with good aim and your beam saber is huge enough to hit the head, use the vulcans to kill the grunts so your allies can focus on Psycho's legs.
It might be possible to do this boss with the regular ZZ as well

it being both cramped and open means every suit in the game, both close quarters and long-ranged suits can put in work
There are few other maps where I can reasonably make use of something like an Efreet Shneid without just getting shitstomped
I've played several games on ravine or impact site or any other sightline shooty frenzy where my team will go all close quarters units and get rocked as they get sniped and picked off before being routed
It's nice that you and the people on your team with brains can usually arrange a pitched battle where everyone has a chance to shine depending on your approach and tactics
the cramped and open design also usually leads to the team breaking up more during either the first or second team fight which means that your individual skill as a pilot tends to sway games more often than not
I've likely had more 1v1s on city ruins over any other map across all ranks
the sniper havens force either honorabu duels between supports or allow supports to become easy pickings for anyone that can conquer their position
they're only really a problem on teams that were gonna lose anyways
I do agree that the geometry sucks but it does go both ways; you can rape people into corners and if you know what to avoid you won't get raped into a corner
as for the beacons I don't really mind their positions and I think the middle ones being hard to capture is fine
if anything them being so spaced out turns map domination into a tactical consideration considering that spaced out beacons are usually easy as hell to cap

sleeves zssa has pretty big weaknesses in that it has no instant stuns (only shotguns) and no dodge roll. It's good for close range fights and its beam machine gun does a shitload of followup damage. Goog L really doesn't have any weakness Even its buildstun is pretty good by 400 standards. If they want to balance it they should take away the dodge roll and make the swap time/reload for the grenade launcher longer so it's just a backup stun instead of a chain stunning tool.

Those are in the crate drops so you might eventually get them on your own. Beam 5 is the only totally essential one I would say but if you have nothing better to spend recycle tickets on go for it. Melee 5 over Ballistic 5 is you only get one.

Defense becomes more useful the more base HP a suit has and health obviously has diminishing returns in that regard. 18-20k health is where defense starts to make a bigger difference than HP. The meta of each cost is also a factor to consider, like 400 has a shitton of melee focused suits so melee defense is more useful. 550+ generally beam defense is what you want because ballistic damage becomes less of a thing. 300/350 has a bunch of machine gun toting accuys and such running around so ballistic is more useful but generally in low cost HP is better.

Also you want thruster parts, pretty much everything can use those
