While this occurs, Amate remains pinned by Zero. Much to her own personal disgust, but viewing it as her only chance to save Deux from the mechanized grasp of the Deep Diver and her handlers, Amate silently prays for Char to come for her. Tightening his grip on Amate's wrist, Zero's expression grows more hostile.

Turning to find find Reccoa and Amuro approaching, Zero keeps Amate held to the ground as he looks over to the two.

Unsure if her prayer to Char had even been heard, Amate clasps her hand to Reccoa's, allowing herself to be lead back to the lonely estate. Meanwhile in the orbit above Earth, Casval stares down to the planet from his disguised transports observation deck.

Upon being aided in bathing and being given a dress barely in her size, Amate is lead down to the homes dining area, where Sarah and the other two young adults in Amuro's care eating lunch together, all while teasing one another.

Boosting out from the cave's mouth, the damaged Gundam prepares to swing its saber for Casval's Mobile Suit, only for him to speak an override code into a device on his wrist. Within seconds, the Gundam's body stiffens as it crashes at his Mobile Suits feet.

A lot of the players are making excuses for amuro just because they dislike char, but I'm not buying it. They're both terrible. Reccoa could have battered wife syndrome ("he's not normally like this", "it's my fault and I made him do it") either way it's not the healthiest place for a young woman like amate to be in.

From my understanding, that third option is to leave the Gundam to Amuro while Zero is brutally murdered by Char in front of everyone, Machu becomes an unwitting accomplice and makes enemies for the rest of her life, so I voted for the second option. It's not sabotage against Char (who got away with everything anyway) back in the escape decision, I chose to go with him to save Sleggar from dying and hopefully stop Nyaan from destroying Izuma.

To be clear, I didn't trust the message even if I believed it was actually Char, but we couldn't really afford to not at least put a paltry force out there to scope the place out. I figured we'd have a real chance to lose Artesia and probably a good amount of everyone not named Ral if we just ignored it. Thinking about it, this really could have been the best option. So this comes down to whether or not we trust Char to deliver Machu to Dakar. Now, just recently I feel he's proven to be at least mildly trustworthy given he worked against the Kycillia faction, although to what end we don't know. Interpersonally, he's a massive creep, that's all there is to it. If Char's smart, he'll probably anticipate Machu making another escape and instructed Nyaan to assist her if asked. If not, he may scramble to find her and we could potentially miss the meetup between him and Ral's forces. OR it will spur it on if Char happened to plan dropping her off stealthily.
Either way, if we're gonna have her trust Nyaan for help, probably better to mention Deux so when shit goes down, she doesn't kill her. Overloading his Mobile Suits reactor, the Gouf's pilot self detonates atop the Protectorates leadership, killing Gene and his loyalist instantly as a massive crater forms at the site of where hopes for a sustainable peace were planned to begin. The remaining Gouf Flight-type begins to open fire on the now completely disorganized defense forces, all while chanting in support of the Ral clan.

Without a moment of hesitation, Amate leaps into the Gundam's hand, her thoughts completely locked into being guided into the Gundam's cockpit. As the Gundam remotely moves Amate to its chest, she immediately takes hold of its control panel, boosting against the metal of the floating HLV with its bladed arm. Slicing its way into the open air, the Gundam begins to careen to the city below. In a moment of unbridled anger, Casval grabs Nyaan's throat, pressing her against a wall as he chokes her without restraint.

Bright specifically says during the OYW that Zeon are ten years ahead, technologically. That's an exaggeration, but it's true that the Feddies are playing catchup. It's a little silly that a Hizack is considered decent by early Zeta when it's only marginally superior at best to OYW grunt suits. At least the show tries to present the Hizack as superior to a GM II.
In a Zeon Victory timeline, naturally MS tech as a whole should progress faster because we don't need to wait for the Federation to Operation Paperclip all the Zeon scientists and catch up.

Shiiko, refusing to lose her chance to strike down Char, grabs hold of the Gundam's severed arm to plunge it into the Gundam's cockpit. Even through her savagery however, Shiiko swerves the broken blade into the Gundam's waist as her vision is flooded with images of Amate shaking within the Gundam's cockpit.

Losing her focus, Shiiko's GM Custom is swatted away by the Deep Diver.

It truly saddens me but it was the best possible choice imo. Every other choice would've been letting go of Deux or getting used by someone else. I didn't finish following the Gray AEUG run but it had a lot of politics and /m/ didnt do so hot with that one either. Blex stayed neutral well early on but pissed Anaheim too much and got assassinated. Char ended up indecisive and too lawful and even got castrated.

Basically I don't think /m/ has what it takes to play an effective politician. A politician would have to make a lot of uncomfortable compromises but /m/ typically doesn't do well in such positions. Poor judgement, spite voting, refusal to compromise, etc could send the run into a death spiral.
I'd just go for the second scenario and Defend Ral even if it means nuclear war. /m/ does way better in more straightforward war scenarios.

This boils down to a couple things: Most important is how each will position us to fight Axis? Getting this war out of the way now might give us ample time to wipe out the TItans and rebuild at the cost of a lot of short term damage and probably bringing down the entire Federation along with them. Merging with the Protectorate may lend us some institutional power and fed leftovers if we manage to oust Jamitov, but I frankly never have faith in the system holding him to account except for when we're playing him, so that's a gamble, especially knowing us.

Defend also wouldn't have any bullshitting going on, which if it leaked that we were having Artesia and Ral work together behind Dozle's back, I can't imagine he'd forgive either, ESPECIALLY if we end up killing a number of his men in a needless manhunt. This would further solidify our bond and make him even less likely to defect when Kycilia asks him to. Either that or the "we're too weak from the last war and need to capitulate to buy time" card gets used there.

If we go with Ral's plan, we have to be smart about it. We can't do the thing we usually do where we throw ourselves at people we think we can convince and end up slaughtering them, giving Jamitov more power. We'll have to have Ral spill as little blood as possible, especially against Zeon if we're ever to return to everyone's good graces. On the flipside, we will have to be fairly relentless in his pursuit as to not give the impression Artesia's playing softball. But now for the REAL shit: what do our MS prospects look like? The main issue is that it takes a while to unlock the Zudah or the Dom, and you can't exactly just delete all of your Zakus and expect to win.
If you cheated in the Zudah at start you'd still have issues thanks to its terrain limits.
