Depends on which Shin you mean
If you mean the 90s one then no it sucks.
If you mean the one made by Anno then yes, you can start with it, but keep in mind that there's an edited version that released later that turns the movie into a 5 episode mini-series. The mini-series version is considered the best one because it adds a few new scenes so you might want to watch that version instead although really it isn't that big of a difference.

The Overlords being able to complete overrun the planet was kind of part of the basic premise once the whole "race for the fruit" part got openly revealed. I didn't like Visions the first time I heard it but honestly it has been kind of growing on me the more I listen to it. Utada Hikaru is kind of lila Koda Kumi o that they're inconsistent in their genres, I tend to like more of their older stuff rather than theor modern pop stuff but I'll probably would be fine with Utada Hikaru doing an OP, although I cannot image what composer she would get since she would most likely get someone unrelated to toku.

Not that it's bad per se, but the biggest immediate threat right now is that an entire city district of people is getting abducted after a gas attack. It's kind of annoying that Lango warned Bocca that mass disappearances could draw attention from human authorities but nothing came out of that. And now for all intents and purposes they unleashed a major gas attack that should reasonably make world news.

It's funny how Saber and Gavv are so different in terms of stakes and genres (fantasy and sci-fi), yet they still manage to be the best Reiwa shows imo. They even share some themes and messages despite their superficial differences, like the idea of a found family and the push for honesty among friends, they are very heartwarming shows at their core as well. Mei and Sachika are also the same type of Heroine, a complete outsider to the conflict who's mainly there to provide emotional support and bring the Riders closer together, which is an archetype we rarely see nowadays. And Saber also had the first Rider with a candy motif, I wonder if PLEX ever took some inspiration from Slash while working on Gavv's designs.

Oh, and the irony of Ogami's wife's actress going on to play Michiru of all characters.

Something I just now realized with Gavv is I think it's the first lead Rider in Reiwa to have a protag's killed a lot. HumaGears can be resurrected so Zero-One has a single kill to his name, Saber killed three guys total (The rest of the Megid were from what I can tell completely artificial and not truly alive), Revi killed a few of the Deadmans gang but the inner demons similar to the Megid aren't really living things, Geats killed like three guys total on screen and that includes the movie, and Gotchard only killed Glion.

Gavv's killed scores of Granute, and they're not artificial lifeforms - they're fully sapient, living people just from a different dimension. And he has no interest in stopping, he knows he's fully in the right to do it even if it seems to have disappointed him early on. He's basically Reiwa's Uso. Kind of interesting given he's also the most innocent/peppy of the bunch.

He's smart, but not terribly creative. Which is why his actual planning skills suck. Let's not forget that he was smart enough to figure out that Lakia had his own agenda, but not smart enough to actually find out what that agenda was, and that he didn't plan on a contingency plan like a remote self-destruct function on the Vrastumgear.

tldr; Nylev is a smart guy, but he's the type of smart who builds upon others inventions. He's one of the rare cases where he isn't smug at all about his intelligence, but he is someone who overestimates himself. Especially once his plans are exposed, and Bocca was smart enough to most likely check on everything because he already proved himself to be treacherous. Him being smart enough to rework the bombs and make it so that only Nylev would explode is a pretty big stretch, I'll admit.

The Fourze and Desire Drivers are pretty good in terms of fidgetiness and touch because the trinkets all activate in different ways, and the Desire Driver can also be manually rotated as well. I finished Saber and while i do think its overhated and in part i imagine its because it followed 01 which was a much more adult tone what with swat teams using guns and mass deaths and stuff versus the light hearted fantasy stuff but i feel like its really one of those series that just spins its wheels for the final third and is a sign not every show needs to aim for 50 episodes.

They all need to be around 50 because of TV station contracts, toyline obligations, etc. None of them really aim for an specific episode count, 50 is the baseline, the ones that end up shorter or longer are due to being caught up in a toy schedule shift, planned breaks or production issues. Even Zero-One which got 45 episodes only did so due to a combination of the forced COVID hiatus and Saber needing to start in the first week of September like all the other modern shows, and even then it still had to release 3 recap specials and a .5 episode during the break to fill its allocated timeslot.

Saber's base story isn't even 50 episodes long, it's 47, making it the second shortest Reiwa show behind Zero-One. It lost an episode to a sports event, it had a special crossover episode with Zenkaiger that wasn't part of the main story, and it had a special epilogue crossover with Revice. Even if you count the last one, it would still leave you at 48 episodes, which is still shorter than the subsequent shows.

When its no longer really a monster of the week show anymore and leans more into young adult drama or superhero action based on season and theme you would think they would divvy the cast up so they can film more side story stuff at the same time by splitting the actors up and allow for more stuff to happen. If we can have entire episodes where nobody is in a suit then its not like its eating into a heavy post production budget.

Not really, Saber's pacing issues stem from it going too fast at times, specifically during Q1 and that one 2-parter in the middle where Falchion returns. It was serialized enough that pretty much every episode moved the plot forward, outside of the standalone Zenkaiger crossover.

That's not really how it works, each episode has a single director, not several, and each director has to follow up on the previous director's episode/2-parter. I also don't get you complaints about Ren (the ninja guy) now since this more or less what they did with him, they gave him his own side story, but you ended up calling it pointless.

Either way have fun, Build is pretty much almost universally beloved, there's no Rider season quite like it I'd say, I think the show that feels the closest to is Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger which was made by some of the same staff. But that's the charm about Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, nearly every season feels really unique and variate, making them great in their own way.

One of us is a big fan of Kamen Rider. He suggested three different ones for us to watch (Faiz, Kabuto and Build) and told us to choose the one we thought was the most stylish. Personally I was torn between Faiz (because it seemed more gritty and serious) and Build, because it looked really fun and the designs were more colourful. In the end I'm really glad we agreed on Build. It's goofy but really good, the transformations and fights are cool, and the global atmosphere is really nice

I had never watched tokusatsu before, but I think after Build, I'll keep watching :D
