Do modern mech games that utilise tank controls really exist?

I would hope they use mech controls instead.

More like septic tank controls.
That shit should be left in the past.

Is basic 3D movement too much for you?

Unfortunately it's a bit shit. The animations are broken and you're the only one that will use them so it massively buffs your mobility over everyone else. It also feels a bit weird, like they don't really know how to handle acceleration.

I wish more games did it like phantom crash. You can move in any direction, but moving forward for a short while will make you enter a sprint. Or like gungriffon, where you can lean left or right while going forward or back so you can still shift to the side. It incentivizes direct movement without making your biped unable to sidestep.

Yes, nobody wants shitty archaic movement that showing the incompetence of the dev and doesn't pose any innovation nor flexibility.

yeah the fps controls are bad and i never use them. even without the animation issues (i always use cockpit view) they limit your turn rate (completely ruling out combining turn and torso twist rate) and are just plain less fun than tank scheme
just mentioned it since having the option diminishes the purity of tank controls in some people's estimation

Sounds like a skill issue, sorry you need support wheels and bright flashing lights on everything.

Real Robot and Super Robot games require different control schemes.

Yeah, you're right. Stiff controls should be great for a super robot game.
