Mechanical Trypoxylus. The level of detail on this thing is great and all the little bits hold on surprisingly well except for the attachment points for the front legs as they like to come off when you move legs around. Also the gates are quite annoying so you gotta be extra careful getting parts off the runner

if a peg is particularly tight (say on koto kits, not a concern at all on bandai kits) i just snip the connection hole. i cement everything together on final assembly anyway. on a bandai kit you are never at risk of breaking a peg on disassembly because bandai's tolerances are so good

What's the most expensive gunpla? I don't think I've come across anything higher than MGEX Strike Freedom Midnight coating at 1500 bucks but I think it's peeb or base exclusive, don't know the starting price

I don't understand why they don't take the CAD files for one then just lay them out into a few runners and write up instructions. Wing Gundam is coming along. Got my Tamiya Extra Thin Cement in earlier than expected and fixed my damaged part. Worked better than I thought tbqh. Finished the head, had some trouble with the eye sticker, I'm probably going to pop the head back apart and paint the eyes at some point. The sticker with the white part on it is just so bad looking.

Meanwhile, I got my MG Wing Zero EW Ver Ka and I wasn't quite prepared for how big the box was. I have <H Wing Proto Zero but the WZC box is just thicker. And there are so many runners, what the actual fuck? Dunno when I'll get around to building it, but I'm officially intimidated by it now. I have been thinking about that but there are a few things I need to sort out first.

If you already have some sort of experience with miniatures and such, it's just a matter of scale. I paint all my models with brush so it is definitely doable and I wouldn't call it hard but it might be just my experience disregarding common problems. I DO switch to makeup sponge recently when it comes to highlights since it is simply that much easier to achieve smooth transitions that way. Primer and varnish (or "top coat" as some people call it here) is definitely problematic to use with brush and it is highly recommended to apply these with either airbrush or spray can but painting itself is not a problem.

Both are different tools for different purposes. Brush offers much better control and being able to paint details, etc easy, airbrush let you achieve smoother shade transitions but requires a lot of masking with details and is more expensive option (and time consuming when it comes to cleaning). In the end, you pick up option that is most suitable for yourself. And yes, waterbased acrylics or enamel are way to go with normal brush.

How do you guys deal with closing seam lines on shell parts? Just mask everything underneath when painting and hope it works?

sometimes you can modify the parts to paint them separately (though you usually have to glue it later), but a lot of the time you can't really

Seems fine to me. I was able to fit an entire kit on it no problem, with plenty of space left over. I heard the regular ones you can buy are shit, yeah, so I got this printed instead. The deep recesses in the backing make it more stable.

the only real way to store runners is to throw them into the dark corners of your roof where they get infested with spiders
