the literal fucking moral of the story is the trust and hope in humanity, which is why Earth doesn't need the Ultras to save them and instead are using their own technology in Ultraman's image. it's been that way since the fucking start. everybody who wants Shinjiro to use the Beta Capsule to turn into Man are fucking speds. go back to watching Nexus, you edgelord wannabes.

It took me awhile to get around to it just because I've been so bored with Omega so far, but this episode was legitimately entertaining at least. I couldn't help but crack a smile at Sorato joining the march of the three stooges. I kinda hope they don't go back to that parallel world or explain anything about the kid, but on the other hand, it'd be nice if this was start of something with how dry this show has been

They could have done that without, again, becoming a Kamen Rider.
Instead of just power armor, what of the manga had them piloting Ultra-like mechs? Or even just using some of the existing giant robot designs? They don’t have to strictly do the beta capsule.
But the manga itself is just so different from what an Ultraman show is all about and how it’s structured that it just feels like a waste. I’m not afraid of franchises doing something new or weird. But there should still be at least some of the elements that drew me into the franchise in the first place, and the manga doesn’t have that. Why adapt THE giant hero show and not have a giant hero?
Anonymous No.23482960

They were pretty much hired for this manga due to their Kamen Rider doujinshi. For whatever reason Tsuburuya didn't want a manga that felt like the show. Probably the idea was "expanding the IP" or something in that sense.

Problem with DRC is that for a form where Belial is a huge factor it looks pretty heroic. Yeah, they have Geed and Zero Beyond but still the form is more associated with Belial above all else, and the blue and gold has no reason to exist. If it was purple I could at least buy it because it's Zero Beyond's color and plus purple is common for darkness-related. Which is why Deathcium Rise Claw >>23480757 looks far more fitting. Or especially the concept art.

I personally think there is a point about DRC looking very heroic despite using Belial's power, and how that ties into Z final message of how power is dependant on who wields it, not by its inherent nature. The problem is that this is a connection that Z never really explores and capitlizes on, which in general is my biggest issue with the show.

DRC scheme comes from Zero Beyond. It's kinda obvious. Also, you guys easily forget that Belial isnt actually evil. He's greedy and jealous but he's still a hero and he never wanted Rayblood's power. Rayblood forced his way into Belial's body. (At least in the original movie. Whatever Sakamoto did with UGF is a different can of worms, borderlining character assassination) and we know Belial is good because Geed is 99.99% clone of him raised by humans, turned out fine.

Anyways his colour scheme can be broken down as:
Gold: Standard super form colour, no surprise
Red: All 3 components have Red
Blue: Zero is blue, Beyond crystal are also blue, not purple

It should be pretty obvious that most of the DRC motif is lifted straight from Zero Beyond since he's Z's master. Honestly, the 2 Belial components are just there to make Beliarok a thing lol (to sell toys. duh)

That doesn’t stop DRC from being ugly as shit and looking worse than Z’s other forms of it has too much going on and in the base version no primary color. That’s why Deathcium makes it look better by simplifying it with only two colors.

Off-tangent, but I really want for a future married MC to have some drama about being an Ultra and a husband/dad. Rising almost covered it in an angle.

Rising is fine for what it is. It's similar to Cosmos with the part of not wanting to kill the kaiju. Yes, Rising wasn't even an Ultraman movie at first, in fact, the original idea was based around Ultraman and Super Sentai. It was in development since 2001.

I like the movie for what it is. Just know that it follow the son of Ultraman and learn to be humble and raise a baby kaiju.

Dull is about right. Fights are kind of limp and the main trio is nothing special. The idea is that we're in a world where kaiju are a whole new thing, but we don't really get much focus on that aspect and it ends up not feeling any different from any other Ultra setting. A lot of the entertainment so far has come from Omega/Sorato being a goofball, but we're lacking any real hooks to get invested in whatever story they're eventually going to tell. We're fast approaching the halfway mark and still don't really have anything resembling an actual plot.

Problem is Alpha Edge is already a Zero homage, DRC being a Zero Beyond homage should have him purple, and Royal Mega Master shows that purple gels well with gold, so a purple and gold DRC would make more sense. Honestly, I feel like this is a problem with post Decker series. It feel like they have so many ideas they want to use but don't know how to implement them in the stories, while also trying to keep it episodic. Then you have the characters and as the story progress, half of the time the writer gives them a weak character arc and they progress back to status quos and other half is that the writer completely forgot about them and they get nothing.

Mostly lived up to the hype. Seeing all the Ultras taken out so definitively really upped the stakes, and I wasn't expecting Father of Ultra to get taken out too. Kinda weird they played up the fact he died so much considering they're going to walk it back later this very show.
I noticed Ultraseven had a better showing against Hipporit than the rest of the Ultra Brothers. Was he more popular or something? Also, the plot with the little kid and the dead dad could have been handled better.

>Was he more popular or something?
Yeah, Seven is like the most popular out of all the brothers. Even more than Man. In fact, he's the only one out of all of the Showa Ultra to have more than one series (4) and the first one to actually have a son, Zero.

I think Seven was the most popular among the reruns of Ultra shows on TV in the late 60s and 70s, and all the reruns have relatively high viewership in general. He is extremely popular. There is a reason why he comes back in Leo and Zero is Seven's son.

>wow that was great, having every episode be centered around aliens limited the format a bit though, thankfully Return of Ultraman should indeed be a return of greater variety

Naah, it's TsuPro getting too high with their financial success from Z to Decker. They probably negotiated a period of experimenting that allowed the three veteran directors to do anything they want.

Is it bad that I can't remember the last time Omega does his beam thing, or how signature beam pose and effect should look like?
